Don't say that you don't know Ally and Oz ???
-
Gorth and I have been together for more than 20 years now, so we are "Old Buddies" He's my alter ego in most things that require a proxy, whether it be old mud games, mailing lists, forums, whatever. Mostly he is just me, as in the real me, although he usually only reflect one personality at a time. Some days cracking bad one-liners, some days brooding and insightful, somedays just bored and midly trolling etc. Mostly a reflection of the person behind the keyboard at the time of writing. No, never really had any trouble keeping the two apart. The real me's identity is not secret, I just don't go around broadcasting it B) If I had to point out a difference between Gorth and me, it would be, that working in a competitive environment amongst lawyers, auditors, FMO's, CEO's etc. Gorth is less "guarded" in his statements and attitude which is a nice release (escapism if you want) from real life every now and then...

Is it really necessary ? Not that I'm against bigger avatars, I just never felt a need for it. I sort of like the "uncluttered" look and feel of these boards (except the NWN section, which is awful).

I don't own a car But then, I live a 10 minute walk from work and the city center, I don't really need one. Whenever I have to leave the safety of my office and face the outside world, I go by taxi bewteen airports and hotels, Boeing 737 between cities and towns and Boeing 747 when travelling between continents. Perhaps I should get a bicycle...

If Jedi arent allowed to love?
Gorth replied to GSpotFrenzy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Or they are just the result of sex between normal people (regardless of species). Even if Jedis don't have fun, non-jedi's can also be more or less force sensitive and odds are, that eventually some offspring will be mutants and have a disproportinally high force-sensitivity. Being the deviants and misfits they are, they will occasionally be handed over to the Jedi, being more accustomed to handle stuff like that, to be raised... -
You know you are not supposed to do any Bioware bashing in here ? I wonder if that trolling about game companies also apply to Microsoft. Technically, they are a game company, on the other hand, it is MIcrosoft, so we are sort of morally obliged to bash them

We'll just have to wait patiently then...

I'm not much of a SW fan. The only DVD trilogy I want is when the original theatrical release versions becomes avaiable on DVD, unedited, uncut, un-socalled-enhanced (sheesh that was bad) and maybe with a few extras like outtakes, things that didn't make it into the movie, the making of etc. on a disc of its own

Erhh, not quite sure. But having a track record of skills with D&D stuff might be beneficial and you sort of need to submit something to Atari (being the current license holder for D&D computer games) to evaluate and decide whether or not Atari want's to publish your stuff. If not, then you need a significant million $ amount in your bank account to purchase the rights from Atari But then again, like I said, I'm not quite sure about all the details.

Poor Volourn... Call me naive, but I somehow suspect, that the developers already know which people they care to listen to and which they don't. Regarding postcounts, get rid of them or at least make them only visible to the poster him/her self, that they might keep track of how much real life the "waste" here (personally, I have fun, therefore don't consider it wasted). Member numbers ? With the number 666 I should probably keep a low profile (until my powers are fully developed) Custome titles ? If I had to pick, drop signatures and reintroduce custom titles B) Just my 0.25 cent (excluding VAT)

Probably been done b4 but oh well
Gorth replied to Zach Morris's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I'm male and usually play male characters. My third or fourth (can't quite remember which) game of Kotor was the first time since Tomb Raider, that I played a female character. It was just godawful, I suck at being female. I think I mostly completed that game just to get the chance to kill Carth completely (played DS female) Tried playing LS female after that, but didn't complete it. Nothing beats the smell of testosterone in the morining B) -
I don't get along well with stickies. The only one I got here at work is one of those yellow 3m post-its with the text: "I am a yellow post-it" written on it And thats only because I wanted one too, my team members heve them all over the place. How about an on-line test that makes you a certified poster ? Somekind of SAT test that shows, that you've read the FAQ, Guidelines and various stickies before you are allowed to post Not that I would ever pass it, but still...

The problem with misplaced posts seems to be some peoples attention spans. Place this forum below the actual game forums. It appears as if people have to read more than 1-2 lines of text, they get confused and just assume their posts gets read if they dump it in the first place with a "Create New Topic" button and the text "Suggestion" Might filter out some threads that needs moving. Not that it's a lot, but it seems to be what causes them in the first place
-
Exactly. Get rid of levels and postcounts. If anybody wants a compromise, add a "NEWBIE" tag to people with less than 50 posts. Makes it easier to spot people who are ^&%#'s because of inexperience rather than out of habit
-
Me vs. Me Whether I win, lose or it's a draw, I'll shake hands and call it even.

Only because Ender has a higher level than you

And thats about the time you realise, that school is among the best time of your life

How often do you play Pazaak in KOTOR?
Gorth replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I always liked playing Black Jack. Pazaak is not that different. Besides, its the only mini-game I really like, so I play it a lot -
You might want to substitute Ash for Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Although the most likely outcome of that encounter is kids, which are 25% vampire, 50% vampire slayer and 25% identity crisis

The most impressive piece of game code I've ever seen was back in the early eighties, when magazines like Your Computer would have program listings for the readers to type in on their home computers. This particular one was a chess game that would run on an un-expanded ZX-81, that is 1024 bytes. No gfx, just simple coordinates in- and outout. You needed an expansion to actually enter the program, but once the typing was done, it would run on 1 kilobyte Sometimes you wonder how people come up with ideas like that...

New Line ? Thats the guys behind the Lord of The Rings movies too... Make it a tag team thing. Imagine Sauron/Chtulhu vs. Ash/Gandalf

I found Kotor to be relatively stable. It only crashes for me in two places (and thats reproducible ), at two cutscenes on board the Leviathan. Apparantly it didn't like either the hires textures or the 1280x1024 resolution. Not sure if it was one or both, bot changing to low resolution when starting the cutscenes did the trick.

Even if you don't get to teach 19-21 swedish girls french something, good luck anyway (you old tree-hugger)

Besides my native danish, I speak german, some english and could probably survive in a french speaking environment. Always wanted to learn another language, but couldn't really decide between italian and spanish...

Ahem, Thor doesn't have a horse, Odin has a horse, with 8 legs. I believe Thor has a goat if memory serves me correctly. Actually, Thor spent too much time with Loki. Odins horse has been reported missing from the stable... Besides, he has an attractive wife, he doesn't really need the goats.
