  1. Games I really looked forward to, but failed miserably: From top of my head... Master of Orion 3 (where is my flail, I need to flog myself again) Lords of Midnight 3 (how could they do that after Lords of Midnight and Doomdarks Revenge ???) Carmageddon 2 (whats with suddenly putting time critical showstoppers in the game ???) Doesn't include games that were just plain disappointing, as I might not have looked forward to them the same way as I did the above Now, I've stopped to really look forward to games, I just watch, read and occasionally get a nice game.
  2. But then, there were also people who liked NWN's (OC) story... weirder things has happened.
  3. Thats OK, you are forgiven Oh, and the explanation: It's subject of much debate, but the general concensus seems to be, that the C in CRPG is the very same C as you find in PC, i.e. Computer, not to be confused with the C in Console. CRPG type games on Consoles sometimes uses the J designation (JRPG) easy to remember as the the J in Console... Confused ?
  4. My Malkavian guy would have sold his soul (well, he already lost it, so the point is moot, but anyway) for the Fortitude discipline... On the other hand, using Bedlam in a crowded street in Hollywood was hilarious. Watch those pedestrian taking it out on each other, some of them getting whacked and flying 50 meters through the air :D
  5. Which clan are you playing ? I played a Malkavian male in my first game and ran into some nasty obstacels towards the end because Malkavian disciplines are next to no good against non-human enemies... Had to go way back to an earlier save game and pick an alternate route through the last part of the game. In my second game, I played a sexy Nosferatu female in fetish wear. Had a way easier time towards the end because of the disciplines available and took the bulls approach to problem solving (headlong charge).
  6. You might also want to give Jagged Alliances 2 a try. Especially if you don't appreciate fantasy, but like strategy and tactical combat.
  7. Yes, I'll withhold my vote too...
  8. Why ? Just curious. Sure, it follows the standard Bioware formula, but you must have expected something else than what you got. What did you expect ?
  9. Yes, he obviously missed the tutorial somewhere. Everybody knows that at successful venture starts with rat bashing in a cave/cellar somewhere to get some experience... (w00t) I guess, that wasn't what the rat referred to... nevermind... :-"
  10. You don't say ? :)" I agree completely. The only pair I noticed that fell short was Carson and perhaps Trip. A shame that most of the PC dialogue seems written by 13 year olds (The PC dialogue, the NPC dialogue seems generally well written and performed by the voice actors)

Not a lot really. BIS died the very week I had decided to register on the old Interplay boards. A few months later I registered here and two other places, Winterwind and Ashford City. These days I hang around mostly on WW and the odd visit here. I've also registered on DAC and NMA, but never posted there, mostly in anticipation of renewed interest in Fallout 3 in a year or two...
  12. PS:T... I had tried BG1 before that and decided I didn't really like that weird "infinity engine" thing. I had never heard of PS:T before, but I just couldn't resist that box art... Kotor was also a nice surprise. After NWN I didn't really want to touch any Bioware stuff again, but in the end gave in and got it. Not a brilliant game, but good entertainment for a lot of hours.
  13. Any preference of 40K or Fantasy? Or just both combined? As a universe, I prefer 40k, as a gaming system I prefer Fantasy, especially Mordheim.
  14. Assuming that Warhammer covers both the Fantasy and the Sci-Fi setting, it's definitely my favourite. Makes Fallout look like a walk in the rose garden by comparison
  15. All magic users should be burned at the stake. Problem solved
  16. *Cough*Lucas*cough*Kotor2*Hark!*
  17. On the other hand, the available NoCD fix only works on the 4 disc version
  18. Especially since expectations usually are higher for a sequel. A sequel will often face an uphill struggle in comparison to the original. Goes for Kotor, Fallout, BG, you name it.
  19. Yes I don't think too many people will argue that it was elaborate, and it was fairly good too what was there, most of it. As for the roleplaying, it's about as much roleplaying as you make it yourself. It might be more a game of discovery and self discovery than roleplaying, but an awesome experience none the less.
  20. Yes, the radial menu was quite a challenge for spellcasters
  21. Fallout. Never got into BG1 (loved BG2 though) My preference would be something like: Fallout > BG2 > Fallout2 > BG
  22. Mine was http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?sh...9309entry9309 Mkreku started a poll asking which BIS game was best... That was Feb. 21st. Can't remember if Kotor2 had been renamed from Project X to Project Delaware at the time...
  23. In chronological order of purchase: Deathtrap Dungeon Tomb Raider III (and IV, shame on me for being naive) Master of Orion 3 NWN Gold Box thingy (NWN+SOU) Mind you, there is a lot of crap out there. I think I managed to stay clear of most of it though (except the above mentioned) :">
