  1. Who: N/A ??? Didn't Bin Laden offcially claim that one ?
  2. It's a good way to keep the stress levels down and anyway, the HR department recommends more physical exercise during the day when working long hours at the office
  3. Sounds like a dull place. Not even at the annual x-mas function ?
  4. If that was about Clintons popularity... To quote myself (which feels a bit odd to be honest) Disclaimer: That is words from a complete outsider that knows very little about the politics that doesn't make the headlines.
  5. I like the "just for fun" poll at Winterwind better... Bush vs Kerry vs Clinton. Clinton ran with 100% of the votes
  6. A bit more depth to the story. It was on the thin side. The romances were a bit silly. The NPC's could definitely use a bit more personality (IIRC, Juhani, Canderous and Jolee were the only ones with a "deeper" personality). I don't care much about flash and gfx, so that it ran on a 4+ year old engine architecture showed, but didn't annoy me particularly. The music was unevenly distributed quality wise. The supermarket background music on Manaan was just plain awful. But the only thing that really irritated me, was that I was forced to switch class to a (beep) Jedi. There was no reason for the switch (except bad story). Even if you were Revan and the use of the force was easily reaquired, you (the new person) might be happy with your new identity and continue as you were. Tell the Jedi Council good riddance and head of to save/conquer the galaxy with your motley crew of henchmen
  7. Generally speaking, as in not games developer specific, it would be a very good idea to get that degree. If for no other reason, then to show that you've got what it takes to be in that line of work. I started out as a self tought and it was all very nice, except that I had to work twice as hard as people with a paper to get recognition for what I did. Later in life, I went back and did my CS thing, and that was the best move in my life. Not only did it open my eyes for a completely different world, but it also taught me the naivite of my previous work. Today, I have the benefit of age and a network of friends in all the right spots around the world, no small part of whom are buddy's from the university time. And that's just the social and and employment potential benefits. From a purely professional point of view, self taught people tend to very limited in theit "skill palette", they are very good at what they are interested in, but they are not very flexible when it comes to working on even related tasks. I know this, because I've had to let a few people go every now and then (mostly self taughts), they simply were not flexible enough. Specialists are very good for contract jobs, but not for permanent employment. For me, the most important lesson learnt, was the skill of aquiring new developer skills. Something that might require a different mindset than the "untrained" mind. Getting a formal education definitely broadens your horizont as a developer, games developer or not. Just my 0.25$
  8. Ok, cooperative posting it is then It might just be, that you are already preaching to the choir (me being a bf1942 fan)... I hardly doubt, that anybody denies the fun, that can be had from cooperative gameplay. Only obvious consideration is whether or not the cost/benefit of whatever resources you have to sacrifice, makes it worth implementing in a game.
  9. Interesting point Dakoth. Without the benefit of emoticons or footnotes, it could have meant anything from a cloned image (likeness wise) to an erect walking bi-pedal mammal (primate). It's all in the interpretation
  10. I've got this piece of real estate for sale in the Bermuda Triangle. Go get it before it disappears
  11. I prefer Jackie Chan for the comic relief. Can't say I ever managed to watch a full movie with Bruce Lee...
  12. Depends on what you define as "science". I tend to agree though, that "Software Engineering" might have been a more descriptive term (having spent 5 years at university doing computer science and electronics a long time ago)
  13. A Starwars movie without Jedi's or Sith would be a refreshing change B) Like the "Young Han Solo" about Han Solo as a smuggler and scoundrel, surviving in the underworld of the ailing Eepublic or some such. I might be a minority, but I actually liked the young Indiana Jones tv series
  14. So what, you run around all day and fix broken Quantums. Big deal I tend to agree with SoE on this one too, pure science for science's sake is a gamble. If you are among the best/genius in your field (which mean, you wouldn't even have to ask what the most interesting one is), your streets will be paved with gold and you'll only miss out on small details like friends and a life. If you are not a genius/authority in your field, welcome to your second day job to make ends meet
  15. Ok, that one looks mean, voted for IG-88
  16. I would like to know who IG-88 is before I vote I know AK-47, ehh I mean HK-47, but the other one ?
  17. He might be a decent actor elsewhere, then he was just cast wrongly or directed poorly in the SW movies
  18. You mean girly looking boy with the acting talent of a wall ? As if episode II wasn't disastrously bad already, that casting disaster just did the movie in completely One, I need to find the original theatrical version in a hurry (probably some second hand vhs) and convert to digital format. Two, Lucas needs to be declared insane and taken into custody for an indeterminate period...
  19. The only UFO's I've seen with my own eyes are those that come out of my microwave oven... Unidentifiable Food Objects
  20. Actually, Herve's plan is even more devious. By pretending to be incompetent and driving the already ailing company he took over to the brink of destruction, he can acquire all the available stock for a piece of candy. Once he got them all, he'll pull out his great master plan, drive up the stock value and fill his own pockets with $ FOOL anyone ?
  21. Cereal Killer ? Fear the deadly breakfast!
  22. Oh, those notorious Finnish anarchists! Look at the bright side, as bad a thing as empire building is, no empire lasts. The Roman empire grew complacent, diluted with foreign ideas and ethnic groups in their armies and edministration, the Spanish empire grew complacent, navel fixated and convinced of their own superiority. The various Chinese, Indian, pre-Columbian, British etc. did the same. Even a recent one like the communist Soviet empire choked to death in paranoia and overspending on their military budgets to sustain their global ambitions (and literally fell apart, when the infrastructure couldn't carry the weight anymore). Preprogrammed selfdestruction seems to be part of any empire, it's just that you can't really set your watch after it B.t.w. what does "Sarjahurmaaja" mean, does it translate into something, or does it just sound "Finnish" ? B)
  23. Kotor 2: The knights who says: Ni! Kotor 2: The 50 first (release) dates Kotor 2: The five year plan of the Sith party Kotor 2: Return of the almost last Jedi etc.
  24. Nemo's dead. He's found in the temple where you get the first star map Well, appatently he's been "resurrected" for the lastest TSL demo movie. Ohhhh! He's the dead looking Sith lord (Sorry, I haven't seen the movie, so I don't know if thats the guy you are referring to)
