  1. They might as well give it up, people will keep mentally substituting the missing 'n'. Maybe it is his sekrat identity name? His real name is Thornton and his undercover name is Thorton which he uses when he doesn't want to be recognised?
  2. I hope that isn't the case I still remember my sense of outrage back then, when I found out what all the floating voices and unsolvable quests were about. First time I ever wished the pox on a publisher Ah well, I mostly got it for Fallout Tactics.
  3. Grabbed two games in the bargain bin at EB Games today, Fallout Collection and Trackmania. I'll finally be able to give Fallout Tactics a try Besides, it never hurts to have more cd's with Fallout 1 and 2 on them. I wonder if it is the crippled (EU) version or the full version of F2? As for Trackmania, I really miss the good old Racing Destruction Set from Electronic Arts. Not exactly the same game, but it did look sufficiently wacky on the cover. At 9.95$ (OZ), how bad can it be?
  4. Do what you think is best for your long term interests. Thats how I ended up on the other side of the world. I had job and was bored, so I looked abroad. Went to London and did a couple of job interviews and ended up with two job offers on hand. Never made a secret of it, that I was entertaining other offers. The night before accepting one of the offers, I got headhunted to New Zealand. That is, I got job a interview set up the same night (2:30am my time) and accepted that offer instead, dropping both of the first two offers. 5 weeks later I landed in Auckland with my 3 sportsbags Some people prefer to keep it low profile, I always preferred honesty, telling people why I need time to consider all options.
  5. Ahah... thats how you get a new boss
  6. Giants and Fallout Tactics... I am interested! >_
  7. I had a bit of fun with my own, recently purchased motherboard. Plugged in the cpu, ram etc. and powered it up. Bios decided that it didn't like any contemporary cpus (core 2 and newer) and refused to boot afterwards. Needed a "hard reset" of the bios and a re-flashing from a usb stick with a bios downloaded on my old computer... It is nicer when it works out of the box.
  8. It's a version tag? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stepping_%28version_numbers%29 I suspect it is mostly important for geeks and overclockers
  9. For those interested in continued Fallout 3 discussions I'll settle for listening in on the discussion. Not too excited about it
  10. Start of old thread End of old thread Looks like the previous thread turned into a general Fallout 3 discussion
  11. Lets put it this way, my Vista 64bt didn't complain when I initially tried it out with a borrowed E8200
  12. Skulltrail mobo? Sure, I can believe that. There is indeed one on the market, even if it is $650. 8GB of Corsair? Again I can believe that. Corsair does make 2GB FB-DIMMs so you have enough room for those. Only $320 for that. Here is where you screw up... 3.3Ghz quad core? Doesn't exist. Perhaps you mean 3.2Ghz? That would be the QX9775 which currently retails for $1500. Oh but wait, you have skulltrail? That's a dual socket system! You'll need to buy two of those $1500 processors. Overclocking it to 4GHz if you actually had such a system is well within reach. As for Tri-Sli? Not possible. The only skulltrail mobo out there doesn't support tri-sli. Something is fishy
  13. I liked S.T.A.L.K.E.R. inventory. Simple, elegant, easy to use. You can't carry much and need to leave most loot behind
  14. So far acquired... 15. Fax it. In most countries I've been to, that (a fax) is a valid legal document

You try to explain that you are from Esbjerg

Wouldn't it be be somewhere in the vicinity of [russ-byaerh] ('russ' like in Russian, except the 'r' isn't "rolling" but flat, "ya" like in yankee and a slightly prolonged 'h' at the end)?
  18. Well, lets just say, you definitely got me hooked on that watercooled solution you posted a link to previously If not that one, it should still be possible to mod a card to use watercooling instead of fan, or is that a pipe dream? So far, my little 50$ card is holding the line (I've only really pushed it a bit with NWN2). It actually supports directx 10.1 and Vista Aero What is the difference between the x2 cards and 2 single cards in a CrossfireX setup (besides using a single slot)? The price looks the same for the two solutions.
  19. Sounds a bit like Dragonlance between The Cataclysm and Dragons of Autumn Twilight. Mass Effect didn't appeal to me. Still, room for cautious optimism.
  20. NHL

    You sound upset
  21. Words of wisdom... Although if you introduce a subject in a discussion, be prepared that it may be addressed one way or another @Guard Dog: I think it's a grey area, but one thing I would consider is whether or not the teachings of the parents are unconstitutional or not. E.g. would you sit by the sideline when people teach their children that midgets and miniature people are not real humans and are only good for dwarf tossing competitions? What about homes where kids are tought that people with skin colour xyz is trash and should be run over whenever you see them? Homes where kids are tought that people who either have or don't have a certain faith should be burnt at the stake. Preferably at night because the "misguided" authorities are compromised by the "enemy"? What if the parents put their kids in training camps in the desert of Nevada, where they learn to become suicide bombers, so they can blow up government buildings once the parents tell them it is time to fight the system? I can sort of understand why it must be frustrating for those watching by the sideline.
  22. The sequel here
  23. Start of old thread End of old thread Played a bit of Europa Universalis III
  24. Sid Meiers "Pirates!" Continuing the quest to test my game library for Vista 64 bit compatibility (it worked without a hitch).
