  1. You could always ask Shryke for advice
  2. Agree on most accounts I played BF2 for all of 20 minutes on my little brothers PC, so I might not be fair to it. It simply didn't interest me. Never tried the 2142, it looked like it was online, multiplayer only (the MMO version of the BF's). I still play BF1942 every now and then and even BF Vietnam too
  3. Hmm... poll might need a bit of "fixing". Voting gives a "Invalid Token" error on a blank page
  4. Good luck The "oddest" interview I've done (applying for a job) took place from 2:00am to 6:00am in the morning on a conference call. You just have to love time zone differences
  5. Let me guess, you are a native English speaker? Yeah, I am. On further consideration, I've come to the conclusion that I was overly harsh on my post, and would thus like to apologize to Moatilliatta for its tone. I'm not really sure why I got annoyed by that in particular. Sorry. Everybody can have a bad day...
  6. We've had bots in the past that would keep up the appearances of "normal" behaviour, using AI to create semi meaningful posts and topics. You never know, the guy sitting next to you may be a bot As for the topic... never seen Cirque Du Soleil except on TV a looong time ago. I would love to see one of their shows some day
  7. I haven't had any problems with 64bit so far
  8. Umm... what does Cirque Du Soleil have to do with the Green Bay Packers (whatever that is)?
  9. *That* was a great story (wonders about the condition of his own collection of 20+ year old 8bit games...)

  11. I didn't see Sid Meiers Pirates! on your list, but it works fine with Vista 64bit (as does Europa Universalis III)
  12. Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Turn User Account Control On or Off Makes for a much less unpleasant experience
  13. If you ever get the chance, even if very unlikely, to find Syndicate Wars in a bargain bin, you might want to give it a look at least. One of the most atmospheric "Bladerunner" type tactical combat games

You could give David Gemmels "Troy" trilogy a try?
  15. Now, if I could just jog the old memory properly... isn't there something about the Master/Slave settings and the choice of first or second connector on the IDE cable? Or is that only relevant if chosing the CS (Cable Select) jumper setting?
  16. I'm pretty sure that there are a lot of acronyms out there that mean something something similar in some language ) Simply pronounce it as the English number 5, that's at least how I do it. Say whatever you want, this is still the **** engine. It wasn't really that funny the first time. It still isn't particularly funny. How about those not having anything constructive to contribute pack up their toys and play elsewhere for while?
  17. Post Your Destop 2008 the Uncensored Version
  18. thanks dude. i have fond memories of the original TR & was thinking of buying TR:A. none of the TR games that followed it ever managed to capture what was good about the original: great atmosphere and fun gameplay. looks like TR:A didn't either. Stay clear of it at all cost Seriously, they might as well have called the game "Ledge Climber, now with 40% Boss Battles", since you spent what felt at least half the time climbing sideways on ledges, watching nothing but cliff faces and then getting your (cute little) butt handed to you in ridiculous boss battles. It's like trying to adapt a game made for a different audience to some kind of short attentionspan audience. Gone are the large levels of exploration and secret finding, panoramic views and little jingles when finding that little remote area with an extra pack of ammo. Instead you a series of narrow, linear of hallways where you have to get to the other end without killing yourself and then fight a boss. Like some Galaxy Invader game... They even sffrf "Interactive Cutscenes", I mean WTH? Press "U" key, Press "Left" key, sheesh it made my eyes moist with sorrow, seeing how badly treated the game was. Definitely not aimed at those who loved the exploration and discovery aspect of the original.
  19. That... and Tombraider Anniversary. Bad, bad attempt at... something? I installed the original TR and ran it with a GLide emulator after giving up. It really made TR:A look bad (gameplay wise) by comparison

  22. I think the closest thing I've seen before is what is called "Camper Trailers" on google. Maybe it's true that things just are bigger in America
  23. Recreational Vehicle. It's basically like a bus/mini house. Has a kitchen, beds, bathroom all inside of a tour bus sized vehicle. Or they have ones that fit on the back of a truck. Ah, thanks Slug. Never heard the term before They don't have those in thee Aussie Land? I can't say they don't have them, just that I don't know of them. Never heard anybody talk about such contraptions. Bear in mind that I am not a native English speaker, so things may pass over my head sometimes
  24. I think most parts of Hollywood and Chinatown are Ok, but once you get to the point of deciding for or against Ming, it goes downhill (imo). My favourite playthrough is still as a Nosferatu though. Not only the dialogue is different but also how to accomplish some of the smaller sidequests.
