  1. Somebody expressed concern that this was turning into a Two Worlds discussion club exclusively, so related discussions has been aplit off and located here
  2. Not enough money to be made from DLC's? Probably just a question of time before the first virtual "escort service" popped up.
  3. It was. However, it wasn't the publishers who organised the campaign to produce rage in the Muslim world, that was local Imams living in Denmark who were feeling their power slipping away from them. Unhappy with the increasing secularity of their fellow "Muslims", they started a campaign to create the rage you describe. Like, half a year after the fact they were printed mind you. Unfortunately, the Danish Muslims couldn't care less about a bunch of wackos frothing at the mouth. So, the Imamns picked up the pictures from the newspaper and started touring the middle east, showing off not only pictures from the newspapers, but their own falsified pictures (which were even more offensive), to stir up violence and dissent, all in attempt to consolidate their own personal power. Yes, the very Imams who claimed it to be an outrage were caught doing the very thing themselves, fabricating images of the prophet. Thats the kind of hypocrisy and selfish, powermongering behaviour that makes them (the Danish Imams) very hard to take seriously.
  4. Europe Universalis III - Heir to the Throne. After getting the expansion, my old save games were invalidated, so I started over again as Milano, with world conquest in my sights. Almost done liberating the Italian states and part of Austria.
  5. You sort of did Even if it is legal, those consumer organisations can be pretty tenacious in getting the rules changed, so it may not stay that way.
  6. Al Jazeera is an arab, sunni organisation so it actually is about as 'biased' as any western one vis a vis persian shi'ites who make up the majority of Iran's population. Basically it's like implying that the Protestant Belfast Times is as an unbiased source when talking about things going on in Catholic Ireland. (Not that I necessarily think it is biased in this case.) I think most westerners wouldn't have the slightest clue about the differences between Sunni and Shi'ite dogma. Heck, I think most Scandinavians would be hard pressed to tell you the difference between Protestants and Catholics (they are all Christian after all). Western media tends to (mis)represent Al Jazeera as the mouth piece of the Muslim world (all lumped together) on the world news scene.
  7. Wow, those Norwegians think of everything don't they? The Scene: The Norwegian High Court "Hey, Thorvald, are you done writing up those legal statues yet?" "No, Knut, I'm still considering the jurisprudence concerning the viability of single-player computer games vis-a-vis persistent internet connections." "Coolio, it's all about detail." --- Here is a link to the article: http://www.vg.no/spill/artikkel.php?artid=579754 As I said, I don't speak any Norwegian, so I cannot verify it. The link was posted by Kalah, the Norwegian administrator of the Heroes of Might and Magic fansite called Celestial Heavens: www.celestialheavens.com Perhaps somebody here speaks Norwegian and can fill us in about the details of the article and whether Kalah interpreted it correctly? They are not claiming that it is illegal, only that the consumer watch dog organisation will put it on this years agenda for them to investigate in regards to consumer rights (not literally translated, mind you).
  8. To quote somebody elses signature: Source that horribly biased pro-western publication known as Al Jazeera I think Killian got the first part right, Ahmedinjejad is a figurehead doing the day to day running of the country, while actual power rests with the "Supreme Leader of Iran" and his appointed "Guardian Council". I still remember the trouble he got into when he accidentally let the mask slip during the state function and gave a lady a handkiss. I.e. acted like human being. It almost cost him his head, literally (despite being the supposed "Leader").
  9. I didn't feel that it was negative, really... not completely convinced, but it had less retarded moments than the Eurogamer one! And it is very reassuring overall, for people who's been following the game for a long time... "Playing as a stealthy Thorton certainly worked, but we struggled to see the appeal. Why bother creeping through a mission when you can shoot your way to victory in half the time?" You probably shouldn't ask this guy to play any of the Thief games
  10. Some Tandori chicken, mint yoghurt, Naan bread and Jasmine rice... and some red wine (I felt like spoiling myself today)
  11. I finally beat my old highscore!
  12. SA (South Australia). Generally very arid landscape. Most of the state is desert. Some farming along the coast line and up the River Murray. Lots of bitching going on between the states about water allocation. Water restrictions are in place for households.
  13. same here And here... You people are sick! Had a gardener come and look at my place, preparing a quote for giving it a make over and replant dead trees etc. Stupid shrubbery keeps dying on me because I don't have time for it Driplines and faucet timers are your bestest friends They are both going to be part of the quote

  15. Hmm, the obvious First Aid (Google) wasn't much help. Seems like a typical installer error, installing software with insufficient permissions. You run everything as Administrator? The other search resultes said something about bad registry entries.
  16. Ask Taks to show you his, then you can show him yours afterwards?
  17. Assets can f.x. be sound, music, gfx, concept art, code, scripts an so on. Somebody might be able to explain better what a license covers. Usually it seems to be the right to market something as being something specific? E.g. somebody owns the D&D IP. A company creates D&D artwork for whatever reason. Said company may own the rights to the artwork, but they can't sell it as D&D artwork without getting the permission from the IP owner (licensing it) to sell it as D&D Artwork. Stuff like that (IP's, Branding, Trademarks etc.) can be messy and involves many lawyers. No idea who holds the rights to sell Icewind Dale games these days, Hasbro?
  18. Dear God, fastest way to ruin a country, ever. Hehe... compulsary parliament service. Just like jury duty. Serve 4 years in parliament or go straight to jail
  19. "TOR"? Most of my knowledge about ME1 is from either this place, review, game play footage or similar, but somehow I can't shake the feeling that ME2 is like a ME1 Redux. It feels like the start of a series, not a middle part. Hard to put into words really. Edit: Also, see Gromnirs post above.
  20. Maybe the was intended to shock (or at least startle) the gamer. They sort of had to come up with something to do with all the stuff that the collectors collected. Lets see if they painted themselves into a corner
  21. Bought some bits and pieces (a print, sketchbooks and a resin statue) from Clyde Caldwells website. I know you can't really judge a person by exhanging a few brief emails, but I got the impression that he is a nice and very generous person. A positive experience for a first time shopper. Yes, shameless pugging, I know I've always been fascinated by those eye catching book covers that Mr. Caldwell and his colleagues have provided paperback books with over the decades.
  22. I eventually arrived at the conclusion that, if I stopped worrying about the details and just enjoyed it as an "interactive comic", then it was actually a quite entertaining one. I can't remember the last time I bothered completing a game 4 times in a row (and that despite the poor combat and hateful minigames) Maybe I should try playing the game as a female Shepard some day.
  23. Soylent Green.
