  1. Same here. I've traditionally had most fun playing rogue type characters. Plan B is something barbarian, whacking things to pieces in a nice and uncomplicated way (sort of the exact opposite of the rogue).
  2. Why do I think "Hercule Poirot" when I hear well dressed, short detective?
  3. Their system is probably just running on auto, add 50% to all Australian prices *because we can* (lack of competition). Tried out my recent purchases. The Book of Unwritten Tales looks like a nice point and click adventures, but damn, the technical stuff is found wanting. Why do I need to disable SLI/Multi GPU just to run the games menu??? I hope the game gets updated to modern PC's after being added to the Steam catalogue. It's only 3 years old or so.
  4. You could head for the US border and seek asylum if things turn sour Doing very little besides work at the moment. Considered for a bit taking the motorcycle for a ride up along The Sunshine Coast, but it looks like it's going to be a very warm day in Queensland. Turns protective gear into the proverbial "boiler suit"
  5. Mozarella At least it's still possible to get Camenbert down here. Not exactly the worlds best, but deep fried and served with blackcurrant jam on a slice of toast, who cares?
  6. Sound advice. Never had a problem with Amazon in those 8 years I've been shopping there. Only once did I fail to notice that it was using an expired credit card (because it doesn't automatically "retire" saved cards that are past their expiry date). I had to give up shopping in a few places in Europe for a while though, because the online stores of GoG and Gamersgate didn't like neither my Mastercard nor my Visa card, asking "funny" questions about stuff I never had to set up for my cards (doing logins within logins to my online banking system), so I didn't buy anything there for the longest of time until biting the bullet and shop through PayPal (makes ward off evil sign).
  7. Rogue dammit, rogue! >_
  8. There should be post limit per topic. People like qloher, Merin, HereticSaint ( whatever is that supposed to mean) are repeating same **** over and over again so it looks as if both sides have arguments. I wish. Unfortunately the forum software isn't that advanced.
  9. Did we play the same BG2? I never noticed and glowing tieflings. Not saying he didn't but didn't notice it.
  10. Thread pruned a bit. Lets see if we can tone down the personal aggravations before I need to get my hands "dirty" and start singling out individuals for limits on posting capabilities?
  11. RIP Mike Singleton One of the most brilliant game designers and a bloody genius has passed away. May there be no ice fear in your next venture Mike Singleton and thanks for all the nights spent on not studying
  12. Thanks Had no chance of catching it live, as it was during work hours here down under.
  13. They cant be that effective. Or perhaps the patrolling is cut short by shrimps on the barbie and Vics bitter.... :D I was sarcastically referring to increased hate crimes against persons of Indian descent in Australia. Nothing like a bit of mass hysteria to create something out of nothing. A special talent that tabloid media has. Of course the same media won't let facts get in the way of a good story Official stuff Which showed that they were at worst as likely to be victims of crime in some areas and in most areas less likely to be the victim of crime. But as I said, hysteria and media is potent mix. As far as I know, unlike other cultural groups, Indians aren't overrepresented in the crime statistics (as perpetrators) either.
  14. Not sure where this thread belongs, but I'm pretty sure it's not pen and paper related... lets try out the general gaming section.
  15. Amen Ok, I may not be a Cyberpunk purist (as in the old P&P setting), but I've been hoping for a Bladerunner/Dystopian crpg since the dawn of time[/exaggeration].
  16. If you dont have it already, get it now. The game rocks. I already had the physical box, I guess it couldn't hurt to have it as a digital download. Also grabbed FTL, The Book of Unwritten Tales and Zombie Driver HD to add to recent purchases (X-Com and Dishonored).
  17. I prefer 3D paperdolls on my inventory screen, reflecting what I'm wearing but on my "HUD" or UI or whatever I prefer nicely rendered 2D images. One of the reasons being the traumatic experience that was the most ugly conceivable head wear in the two Kotor games and the blank faced, low detail heads in NWN2,
  18. But Oz has got some very decent cheeses Many South Africans immigrated there in the 1990's( including my cousins) and you guys have a strong dairy industry and delicious cheeses available . Does New Zealand have better dairy than Oz? We see loads of NZ products in SA The Kiwis have a substantial dairy production, but a lot of it ends up as export. I believe (as in pulling out of thin air) that quite a bit of it ends up in powder form instead of cheese, yoghurt, milk etc. Yes, I lived there for a few years They still get a lot of sheep jokes though, even though more than 50% of their livestock these days is bovine in nature. As for South Africans, according to my SA friends most of them live in Perth (West Australia, I've never been there) for some reason. Maybe it's closer to home
  19. This part of the world is devoid of any decent Gruyere. A decade of searching and no luck Cheeseless heathens.
  20. Translation: We haz hangover. Be right back.
  21. http://kotaku.com/58...who-makes-armor http://madartlab.com...-and-lady-bits/ Are some of the easy to find sources. I sat in on a lecture of middle-ages armor at university and they discussed this at well with some more academic sources. That, and physics evidence. Also, I indeed think most of this worry is uneeded. Obsidian has a good track record, of both enthralling storytelling and quality game mechanics and graphics. That said, I've seen companies deviate and fall short of their potential - especially as of late. I still have hope and trust in them to make another immensely enjoyable game. I see, but if women aren't in boob plate armor how will I know they are actual women and not just some clever tranny in disguise? Who says you need to know?
  22. I liked 13. It's the sacred number of the Great Horned One
  23. I just need my companions to acknowledge me as alpha male and jump when I say "jump". Of course, it's not particularly romantic. I still see it as a particular "flavour" of companion relationship together with those you listed (and a number of other kinds). For example, I don't see any "romances" in PS:T. Deionarra was manipulated, abused and discarded by the player when he had no need of her anymore, Annah felt lonely (and didn't join you willingly, Pharod ordered her to), FFG was fascinated by the tragedy that was You, Dakkon was your slave, Morte felt guilty for having betrayed you in a past life, Ignus and Vhailor both hated you and would eventually try to kill you. Nordom had nowhere to go, being an exile so he just tagged along for the ride. No "romance" anywhere, yet you still had an interesting vignette of characters, who had an interest in your person and you could decide to either care about them or take an entirely utilitarian approach to the relationships.
  24. I watched it on and off in the background while he was playing, but I haven't seen anyone actually having the whole thing in a single place
