Movies You've Seen Recently
I don't know any of the other TC movies on that list. but I thought 'War of the Worlds' was pretty horrible and 'Top Gun' was cringe worthy (only good thing was the sound track). On the other hand, I liked 'Minority Report'. Just browsing around a bit on Amazon and see if there is something that might tempt me. Haven't watched anything for a very long while.

Obsidian got filed for patent infringement
Since they are trying Treyarch, Insomniac Games, Namco, Konami, Shiny, Sega, Naughty Dog, Sony, Capcom, Square Enix, Thq, Rockstar, 2K Games, Lucasarts Neversoft, Activision/Blizzard and a bunch of others, I would say it smells of desperation and somebody is trying to wring money out game companies. Sadly, the "exhibits", were missing, so no way to see what they think everybody else is doing that is too similar. Particularly hilarious was the bit about Obsidian keep selling the allegedly infringing games. Edit: Wanna bet Lucasarts and Blizzards lawyers are going to wipe the floor with them?

Mass effect Trilogy
I'm sure there is a special hell set aside for me But the walking wikipedia on steroids and best friend vigilante just didn't do it for me. Maybe I really just like my party members a bit more crooked and twisted. Heck, I even liked Kasumi once I got around to buy the DLC for ME2.

Mass effect Trilogy
I seem to have missed completely both of these aspects. *squints* Nope, still sticks out like a sore, stupid thumb. Additionally I think freddie prinze jr was horribly miscast. I seriously missed a number of my companions from ME2. Even EDI was more interesting when she was the ship At least the Kaidan guy wasn't too bad (and less whiny than Ashley) once you got him on board the Normandy. Vega was like something out of a bad comic (only Kai Leng was worse), Liara isn't my thing, nor is Garrus. Leaving those behind I dislike means Javik wins by default and the empty second party member slot becomes a toss up between EDi and Kaidan. I think I mentioned something similar a long time ago (e.g. Master Wade in DA:O and others), but the guys writing the "incidental" characters, like the refugees etc. seems to have more fun/creativity when it comes to creating characters.

Anything is better than vegemite (and that doesn't even have any meat parts in it).

What you did today
Congratulations... sort of? One of the benefits of moving country every now and then. Residency requires thorough medical checks, including x-rays and blood tests. I've been tested for everything from high cholesterol, blood pressure, hepatitis, hiv, diabetes, TB, (insert long list of known ailments), etc. multiple times the last decade. So far, so good. Still need to see a dentist some day though

Piracy
You keep repeating this like some religious mantra. Repetition doesn't make it true. Copyright, trademarks, patents, all originally invented to stimulate invention, innovation and creativity. You are right in one point though, it's about the economic interest of the general public. The general public will try to pay as little as possible for anything. They will sometimes go to ridiculous lengths, trying to avoiding paying for both goods and services provided. The latter is really the crux of it all. Watch this space (and a number of previous threads) for explanations ranging from the laughable to the bizarre when people have tried to justify what is basically "Why should *I* pay for somebody elses work" (especially when the chances of being brought to justice is close to non-existent). Tl;dr; version: Self-entitlement.

Mass effect Trilogy
This, very much this. I wonder what makes it so hard to make fulfilling endings, games have had problems with it from the start. Only thing I can think of is the devs don't yet know what to do with possible sequel. Must be a video game industry thing. I once read a trilogy of books written by a developer (Alan Campbell). Great story... until halfway through the third book, then it turned into really, really bad mess.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS!
yay.... or something? Endless string of yet another RTS games? Some day, somebody is going to make strategy and crpg games instead of third rate action games out of those franchises.

Planets, Space & Satellites don't exist
Because once could be a fluke. When I can (and did) repeat the exercise and get to the same result, it may be more than just statistical error that I got home again. The only thing I'm convinced of without proof is, there is more to the universe(s) than most people can grasp. Go read Platos Cave Allegory (from "The Republic"). It's the most profound piece of text ever to influence my thinking. You may not agree, but it would give some insight into what makes me tick

Planets, Space & Satellites don't exist
I know you shouldn't take advice from strangers on the internet, so my "evidence" is entirely anecdotal, but having literally traveled around the world twice (Auckland, Los Angeles, London, Copenhagen, Singapore and back again), I'm pretty convinced that it's round (or somebody made some damn good replicates of my home and put it in multiple places).

Eating Cats, Dogs, Rats, Reptiles...
Hot dog is a specialty in parts of east Asia. It really is just meat. As long as my food isn't looking at me, I'm quite happy. Goes for crustaceans too. Much easier to stare down a potato.

Ah, that explains where Sandy Island went; It was probably just a different way of rounding fractions. Maldives, you are next to go.

Since it's December, I guess a bit of Christmas carols wouldn't be completely out of place. Just to set the mood http://youtu.be/ptP0OR-e7rI

3D Printer Technology
That sums it up pretty nicely. I'm fairly sure there is going to be an online market (both legit and not) for printable stuff. Some fun already arose in the US from gun designs you could print (http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn22323-diy-gun-project-misfires-as-3d-printer-is-seized.html)

3D Printer Technology
It's sort of CAD/CAM in for hobbyists. You you need to create 3D models in a modelling app. The printer will then "print" a 3D plastic model from the design.
