I'm a sucker for Thai food I cheat a bit and get the curry base ready made, but will get most of the ingredients from chicken to coconut milk just before the weekend. Mental note to self... remember to get koriander leaves.

Haven't celebrated Christmas for many years. Will probably "celebrate" getting a break from work for a while and indulge in a bottle of XO Cognac and make some green curry chicken. Which reminds me, that I better get some grocery shopping done before the holidays (or, I'm going to live off re-heated frozen pizza for a while).

Hmm, so it's possible that the speed of light is just limited by the clock frequency of the galactic CPU...

Ah, I use nVidia cards now, since my ATI cards seemed to be very short lived before failing. Replacing the coolers with water blocks as the first thing means no warranty, even though they rarely lasted 12 months (see Gfx card thread). I have a 590 Gtx card now and it runs like a dream, even if not the newest generation anymore

Ok, so what exactly *do* you have inside your computer if it can't run NWN2? Is it a performance or a compatibility problem (Intel display chips generally sucks at anything more complicated than Solitaire)?

I think Windows 8 will go the way of Windows ME and Vista. It's that "inbetween" version that no one has any use for and unlucky new hardware buyers gets stuck with on their PC. Rumour mills says Windows Blue (expected release mid 2013) is going the be the "real" Windows for PC's, but it comes with it's own problems, not at least the intended business model, which includes annual upgrades.

I figured the price of admission ($3.75) made it worth it, just to satisfy my curiosity and try to install it. If it sucks, I've wasted less than my daily coffee at the Cafe next door.

Lucky bastard I got two weeks off after Friday and is on "stand by" for the support department (as an escalation point) during the first week. Still waiting for some XO Cognac to arrive with Australia Post before feeling the Christmas "spirits"

Yay, finally a bit more information about project New Jersey -
So, the very definition of a loyal horse. I wonder if it will take up a party member slot like Dog in DA:O?

M4-78EP release trailer - TSLRCM for MOTY?
Gorth replied to Hassat Hunter's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Same here. Finished it a while ago with the TSLRCM (shortly after Kotor2 became available on Steam). Not sure what version it was, but I think it has been updated once or twice since. Might as well try out the M4-78EP addition. -
A bit of Mass Effect, on and off. Not much time (and energy) for gaming at the moment.

Ewoks are a symptom of everything that was wrong with ROTJ (and every successor SW movie after that). An Ewok Pest Control campaign wouldn't have shown the Empire as evil, since there is nothing likeable about Ewoks.

I put dibs on being the chosen one... Can I romance myself? I'm so awesome Back to the rumour mongering, so who is this "Duke of Olivares", some Nevarran noble?

Does that mean, that there will be rideable horses in DA3???

Macho men doesn't scare anyone. Frightened little boys with guns are scary, because they are unpredictable. At the moment evolution seems to favour brains and intelligence as a recipe for success.

With statements like these, you come across such as the likes of Timothy McVeith. So what lethal force are you advocating to change the government's course of action? Bombing government buildings and using lethal force to convince the government? Crazy stuff. Breivik would be soo proud of him *sniffle*

“A great democracy must be progressive or it will soon cease to be a great democracy” Of course, a "socialist, incompetent politician" like Theodore Roosevelt is not exactly a poster boy for the idea that things needs to evolve. Oh, wait... You guys sound like Adam Lanza's mother. I need more guns, because the evil government is going to be here any minute. Could it be that some people are completely brainwashed to follow the twisted interpretation of the second amendment the way Taliban fundamentalists interpret the Quran? Any which way that suits those that profit from it? Or did technology change and legislation simply didn't keep up, because things evolved since the 1789 musket that militia were expected to have at hand to defend against external aggressors? That an anachronism has survived doesn't make it sacred, it just makes it an anachronism.

Let's start with those I don't enjoy... Riddles for riddles sake, math puzzles (find x numbers whose total is y), player reaction based puzzles (good riddance to QTE's too), Towers of Hanoi and floor jig saw games. Probably a few more, but those stand out in my mind. Those I like are unfortunately few and far between in games, being investigative "detective type" puzzles (work out who did what and why), discovery type puzzles (i.e. need to explore places and people to gather the knowledge to solve a task, sometimes integrated into the quest structure and therefore "transparent"), some "adventure game" type puzzles (you discover a number of things during the game, only to discover later that some of them have secondary uses). Probably a few more, but rarely ever the multiple choice/press the right button sequence ones.

Dialog mostly voiced?

This... and no Jennifer Hale, thank you (overuse syndrome). I wonder what it would cost to hire Christopher Lee as the story narrator? -
Theme music you can hum
Gorth replied to GhoulishVisage's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
That's rather vague if you ask me. Hey, they could add some old sailor songs and sea-shanties there (although to be honest, it's way too modern a phenomena to be appropriate for the setting) I've said it before and will repeat it again, way beyond anyone caring to listen, that Kotor2 had the best game music of any Obsidain/Black Isle game (putting on asbestos suit, preparing for ire coming from Mark Morgan worshippers). Wouldn't mind something in a similar "style", as it would fit just about any setting. -
Not knowing the numbers, just speculating, but it would also make it more attractive for subscribers to play in "populated" worlds as opposed to ghost towns (hyperbole added by Gorth)? If you can get a handful of volunteer extras to fill out the worlds, why not? As Calax suggested, the same extras may even buy something in the local shop every now and then. Talking MMO's in general with F2P and Subscriptions, not necessarily TOR in particular.

It makes for good ratings? That's capitalism and free market economy in action. I wonder if somebody could enlighten me about something (since I don't live there), but isn't there an enormous stigma associated with being a "loser", in a country where success is everything and failure seems to be regarded as a crime and/or divine punishment. Maybe somebody need to run an information campaign for young men, since they seem to be the majority of the shooters, that it is perfectly Ok to seek help? Just a thought.
