Votary becomes invisible after combat
bleedthefreak posted a question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
Happened twice in the early map where you encounter Mages/Chief Echoing-Strike. Both times Eternal Devotion was the killing blow, but not sure of what else might have been going on. I was actually recording footage when it happened, you can see the effect at the following time stamps. At 07:06 when I trigger Dance of Death and at 9:46 when Lighting Strike ends. In addition, at one point (6:10 or so in) I get hit and notice while I know my Pierce armor is indeed 11 and the combat log and attack result is correct, the character sheet is not displaying Pierce 11 but later when I look after re-branding an enemy (7:01 or so) it's displayed properly. Sort of a goofy bit there, I don't normally see many bugs like this in Beta 4 and to see so many with one build was unusual. Let me know if you have any questions! Thanks! Votary Bugged.zip -
No idea where to put this, but the message told me to provide the output log folder, which I have zipped/attached. 2018-04-13_232530.zip

No one could have predicted you didn't even know what was revealed when the Fig campaign started. Nothing was talked about that wasn't known since they launched the fundraising campaign. SPOILERS Yeah not all of those details were in the Fig video as far as I remember. Thanks for the snarky, unconstructive comment, though. Yeah, that's all been known for a really long time, it's sort of amazing you could follow the game enough to be a regular on the official forums and not know that. And no, I wasn't trying to be helpful, so no thanks needed. EDIT - Yeah, everything in your spoiler tag has been around since Jan 2017 when the campaign was launched. https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2017/01/26/pillars-of-eternity-2-announced/ But some actual advice - if you are worried about spoilers, even to the point where you don't want to know the game's very setup/premise, you should really go into a media blackout because I have a feeling we're going to get a lot of coverage starting around a week from now. I imagine around early May popular streamers are going to have access to show like the "first 6 hours" or something.

How does two handed compare to one-handed with nothing in the off hand (+12 accuracy bonus)?

Backer Beta Update 3: Patch Notes
bleedthefreak replied to Sking's topic in Backer Beta Announcements
I hate to say it, but I don't really read that in his post. And I'd be floored if we got another build. In fact, I'd be kind of upset - I'd rather they focused on the release build than put any more energy into the beta build. It was an awesome experience and I feel like we provided (as testers) tons of great feedback, much of which shaped what the game will be when we play it next month, but the beta is so separated from the main build that I'm sure it's no small feet to maintain/update it.- 69 replies

The other 29 seem correct in the front OP, but this one is wrong. Anyone figure out what it actually is yet? Am I wasting my time, is there a way to just get all 10 items without pasting the codes and keeping up with this thread?

For those that aren't aware of Critical Role (and you should probably go back and start watching the archives if you are at all into pen and paper role playing, it's really fun to watch and these guys are all professional voice actors and they do an amazing job with their characters) here are the characters and who plays them (via the new intro that came out towards the end of their first campaign which this press release refers to - their second campaign featuring all new characters just started a few months ago). And if you want to hear the voices they use (and which will presumably be in Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire) you can watch/listen here: https://youtu.be/_dIBh0dGhzI?t=1h36m12s And here is the archive, starting with the first episode of Campaign 1, Vox Machina (note these guys were playing DnD for years before they started streaming it, so it doesn't begin with them at level 1 for instance). https://geekandsundry.com/shows/critical-role/page/11/

This is a great thread. I'm curious as to why it's in the Backer Beta forum though? For my own answer it's pretty simple - 3 White March sized DLC's that add more companions, high level gameplay/content, and extend the level cap. But, one difference, I'd rather have 3 stand alone stories than a Part I, Part II, etc. type of deal like White March did. Or have only two of them be connected like that, maybe.

I can see waiting for that first, post-day-1 patch (if there is one) a few weeks or a month after launch I suppose (even if I couldn't wait myself) to get some of the immediate, rougher edges and bugs the community discovers off the table, but waiting longer than that is a recipe in not playing for ages. By the time the patches slow down we'll get word of that first DLC/Expansion, and then you'll think "well, I'll wait until that comes out!" and then "Well, I'll wait until IT gets patched and play it a few months later" and repeat until it's like 18 months later from the original release and you still haven't played. I'm going to play the game a second time most likely right after my first play through to pick different companions and factions and overall decision points, so what I'll (personally) do is play at launch, be part of the zeitgeist and then when the first few patches have dropped dive in for a second play through. Same as every other big RPG that's ever come out.

[Beta4] Assorted list of minor bugs
bleedthefreak replied to MaxQuest's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
To clarify - Pollaxe isn't just missing it's attack data in the info card, it doesn't add anything to the characters attributes (damage) when equipped, like it's not even being held. -
Possible Display Bug - Fireball @ higher power levels
bleedthefreak replied to bleedthefreak's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
No, brand newly rolled characters, using the command console to level one up to 9 and then hiring a level 5 to test the spell "when you first get access to it" at power level 3. Also, as mentioned, the range for the two characters seems identical, so that's why I think it's a bug in the info card. -
Got it, I probably either missed it way back when or I forgot. So in any case, I feel like single- and multi- class both have a lot of ways to offer something to the player, and there isn't really an imbalance by and large, excepting for the potential combos players come up with of course, but that's half the fun (and in a single player game, isn't some imbalance totally cool... ideal, even?).
