  1. Thanks for the heads up, but this was actually posted half a day ago.
  2. Assuming a beta update will ever show us up-to-date build. We will get might back and test the new resolve upgrade, but I will be surprised if they actually release more updates (like the revamped passive skill tree). So far they kept everything underwraps after initial feedback. Don't know if they just want to make sure it's good before showing it, or if they prefer to make a best impression on launch. The lack of general information re: any sort of beta update for the last several weeks (since not getting one at the top of this month) has me a little confused, honestly. They delayed the game and I thought they would get us an updated beta to play with and provide feedback on that might then get into the day 1 patch at the new launch date. Maybe that's still the plan, but a lack of any sort of update is kind of baffling to me. Even just an official "new backer beta is coming, we are aiming for next week" type of update?
  3. Honestly I'd just wait until the new backer updated drops - anything shown now would be from a months old build and from what we've been told via twitter/tumblr and etc. a lot has already changed since we had a beta build to test with.
  4. He's just saying it's easier to step on your own toes if you multi-class, say, a Wizard and Druid and pick spells doing the same thing. In that case, you may as well be doing a single class. But, if you are picking complementary spells you'll potentially be doing very well, from a min/maxing point of view. That's probably true of almost any multi-class though, just more so with wizards because you are only picking spells, not really passives. ”I have a wizard fire spell and a druid fire spell and they both suck more than if I just had one” I think it's also "I only picked fire spells so I have lots of low and mid level fire spells but if I'd been a straight mage at this level I could have had higher end fire spells as well."
  5. More God-like head types coming. Not a huge surprise, but it's nice to have confirmation.

  7. Also we have no idea how anything works anymore - there has been so much shown to be vastly different in tweats that everything in the beta is completely suspect. It's useless to even speculate at this point, so far removed from what the game must currently look/feel like.
  8. It seems that if an attack meets those conditions an action will be interupted. Ah! Okay, that's the piece I was missing. And then the other half of this is having a preventative concentration "shield" to block the potential interrupt, making interrupts maybe a bit more rare but very potent.
  9. This reminds me, I keep wanting some more information on how the new concentration system works. Is there any sort of write up anywhere that's as accurate as we are aware of? Or could someone summarize it quick? I know Concentration (as a keyword) creates a shield that protects from Interrupt, but what counts as an Interrupt? Just taking damage?
  10. I smell %missing text string% incoming...
  11. I play PoTD and never/very rarely max Might scores. Amazingly I still get through all fights. How is this even possible? Is this even a question ? I know, right? PotD is basically baby mode. I don't even spend skill points, every stat is a dump stat, and I wade into battle naked with my only character and play with my eyes closed. It's pretty easy, just using common sense. *ahem* I notice this character has a super high Might and a fairly low Resolve though. Seriously impressive stuff, though. I guess what will be interesting is seeing that Resolve will now bring to the table. I don't really feel like 3 or 4 points of Deflection is that big of a deal, really.

  13. So back to every single character needing a high Might score. Got it.
  14. I don't think we need to resort to name calling, alexis13. This is your discussion, you lead the tone.
  15. I agree per-rest spells and abilities are worse than being able to cut loose every fight. But I also agree I would like my spell casters to have more variety and it's hard to pick something like Bulwark of the Elements when you'll only have a few spells in a given slot. Generally, I like the new system, but it has some gaps in the mechanics I'm hoping get addressed in some fashion (either by mid- and high-level play, additional ability options for spell casters that aren't in the current ability trees, items, and etc.).
  16. Are you just going to constantly spam the boards then with the same opinion repeated endlessly? What was wrong with the last thread you started just yesterday?
  17. *nothing to see here - looks like I had loaded an old save so was reporting an old, already fixed bug*
  18. I don't see why not. I also don't see why, though.
  19. Honestly there shouldn't have been a middle of the road answer. I don't understand why 20 people without an opinion bothered to vote. I will say I made a video with some ship to ship combat on it and it felt like most folks that took the time to comment didn't really like it. But I hasten to add I did a terrible job showing it off because it was my first time seeing it and of course the beta doesn't explain anything, so it was a bad first impression for all of us. I've since seen streams where Josh explained how it works and have come to like it a lot more, and have high hopes that the next time we see it the system will be much improved and a lot more fun. And of course, skippable if desired (even if you like it, maybe going through the motions every single time will get old after awhile in such a lengthy game).
