  1. So? At that point, how is it much different than using Meteor Shower two times in a row and another, powerful 8th level spell? You're talking degrees here. I'm looking at the big picture. Let's also not forget that for the power of casting three meteor showers at the near highest levels of the game you would have to be A) single-classed and more importantly B) had to give up TWO ENTIRE SCHOOLS OF MAGIC for the duration of most of the game.
  2. You cannot get into the beta, you had to back the game when it was a Fig campaign to get access. If they crowd fund Pillars 3, get in early and get that access!
  3. In the last three days I've started seeing PoE2 advertisements on youtube. So there's that. I'm not a game developer, but I have released Wolf3d mods in the past and from just that LITTLE bit of "game development," I can tell you that they are FOR SURE swamped and SUPER busy with all things Deadfire as the deadline grows closer. This isn't a huge dev with a major publisher backing them and their marketing team probably consists of a handful of individuals at most. In my eyes, they have done a solid job with marketing Deadfire, when all things are taken into account. Worry not, the game will get a lot of praise when it releases and when it eventually releases for the consoles, word will spread even more. Yeah, but marketing folks shouldn't be working on finalizing art assets, bug fixing/coding, AI logic, game balance, Q&A, or the like. What are they up to!?
  4. Just make it so Devoted actually is devoted to both unarmed and their weapon of choice, maybe. If we are fishing for solutions, I think that's going to be the easiest and simplest, in terms of implementation.
  5. The marketing for this game all but halted once the codes were announced. Almost nothing from Josh on his Twitter or Tumblr, nothing from @WorldofEternity, nothing in the way of announced content coming up to celebrate the last two weeks of the game. It's not exactly troubling, but the silence is growing deafening.
  6. I doubt it. Any time a code has been seen in a video it's been super obvious, like on a t-shirt. And this as far as I know isn't directly related to Pillars of Eternity 2 marketing.
  7. I don't smoke weed and I rarely drink (mostly just at back yard BBQ's these days, or maybe camping) but I do like to drink a Monster when I game, it's sort of a treat and it makes me feel more focused as well.
  8. I can't be 100% sure, but I just tested it and never saw the bonus for one-handed being applied when I had a shield equipped. I could have just gotten very unlucky I suppose, but I did see Dirty Fighting proc more than a few times while I had a shield equipped, and when it wasn't equipped I was seeing one-handed style proc a few times a fight. I did have both one-handed style and weapon and shield style on that same character, so maybe one over writes the other?
  9. While I obviously wouldn't be opposed to that, I prefer the idea of a subclass being really, really good at that school of spell and simply +1 power level or even having a unique spell doesn't really convey that.
  10. I don't really feel like +1 power level is a great solution for increased recovery for other schools and completely zero access to two schools. In fact, some subclasses (such as Enchanter, where +1 spell power is something like +5% duration and nothing else for most enchantments) get almost nothing out of that. And with +1 power level being something that can be obtained through other sources (such we have seen food providing it when camping, for instance) and while I'm not positive, I don't believe it stacks with other effects that grant power level. The perk most of the subclasses have feel lack luster as well, ranging from summoning an easily killable (and super slow casting) familiar to Resistance to Dexterity Afflictions. I propose (perhaps even instead of +1 power level) that each sub class gain the following. "The first spell from %school% you cast each combat does not cost arcane resource and is cast at -50% recovery and casting time." Or something similar. Maybe even make it 0 casting time and recovery. I think one extra casting of a spell from theirs school is a much more compelling and interesting choice for WIzard subclasses than +1 power level. I would also like to see reduced casting times/recovery times in general for the chosen school. 20% faster recovery from %school% for instance. Let's give players some actual incentive to pick these - right now it feels like it's almost always the wrong choice to pick a subclass for Wizard.
  11. All I am saying is it's reasonable for a person to look at the tool tip and think "hey, 6.1 is not 5+50%" is all. Either the tool tip or the number needs to change, tool tips should make sense. Even if it instead read "5m +1.1m Intellect" would be better.
  12. I just liked the way ghost companions look both on the field and when they get summoned, so it was more for the "cool" factor. I was also testing if the game would let me summon one companion per character. I didn't play the game with this group, it was more for testing purposes, but it was fun and I imagine would be VERY viable in most situations. I mean... it's a wall of bears!

  15. Thanks! I guess that answers that. I'd have liked a little more freedom (like I can see for Eder only have the option between maybe "no subclass and streetfighter, he can't be assassin nor trickster") but I am interested in these unique sub classes, and at least the default seems to be "no subclass" which isn't a problem, of course.
  16. When we pick which class a companion (such as Eder being either Rouge, Fighter, or Swashbuckler) will be for our play through will we also be able so select sub-classes, such as Devoted or Streetfighter?
  17. Everyone here is arguing semantics. There isn't a clear definition of "Indie" anywhere, it's just a label and it means literally nothing. At all. Whether you feel Obsidian is an independent developer or not does not matter to anyone, it doesn't even mean anything in terms of tax breaks or software costs like being a non-profit might, for instance. At the very least, break the discussion off into it's own thread, maybe? And Spelunky is freaking awesome, everyone should be playing it whenever they have a few minutes to kill.
  18. Does it seem odd to anyone else that we haven't had a new gif/image with a new code since the announcement of the scavenger hunt 5 days ago? At this rate to get the last 23 codes pre-launch we would need more than 1 new code per day...? Unless they don't plan to put all the possible codes out before launch. And that assumes they don't have "extra" codes for just in case, too. Unless as a community we are missing a LOT of codes that have already come out, but I kind of doubt that.

I will say that in the stream recently with the guy in the armor, at one point towards the end he was chatting with some characters in the dungeon and I actually appreciated the hell out of everything being voiced, and I'm one that normally would say "just voice a little of it and let me read the rest" but something about it felt really good. If the entire game can feel like that I think full VO is going to be a huge boon. I can't see it being a negative since the VO came after the writing was done, and you can always disable voices and/or skip past them if you read faster than they talk, as well. In related to the topic news, a bit about how late game Wizards/Druids/Priests end up with quite a few options as they accrue spell levels.
  20. Didn't shopkeepers have a spoken line fairly frequently in PoE1 already? And you just click "show me your supplies" right away to cut them off.
  21. This has been officially denied multiple times, it's a PC game first and then the publisher ports it over to console, as stated by Josh Sawyer.
