Why, aren't you quite the party crasher?
-
Heh. I'm surprised nobody mentioned alarm clocks. Those are the root of all evil in the world.

That list doesn't very well reflect any team's real worth... Uh huh. The kind of talk you'd expect from an (American) footballer that's had his head banged a bit too much. By the way, what kind of dolt does it take to make a melon-shaped leather object and call it a "ball"? And does nobody notice that that thing can't be a "ball" as balls are spherical? The only explanation can be widespread genital malformation. Mindboggling, alright. But yeah, I agree with you. Football is a great choice for women interested in team sports. There are some very good female football teams, but unfortunately, they don't get much attention.

ZOMG!1 U CAN!?!11 Following that logic, cars themselves are useless. Donkeys can fulfill the same role, and they are cheaper to acquire and maintain. Furthermore, any telecom technology is superfluous. Smoke signals are perfect for conveying messages through long distances, without the need for cables! And electricity? Pfft. Where's the love for the good ol' mechanical work? And finally, we arrive at the crux of the question. Who needs those pesky undies that keep your package constrained and unventilated? Go commando 4TW!

It's not wrong. It's capitalism. As long as there are people willing to pay that much, there will be $10k watches. Myself, I don't use a watch. My mobile phone is enough to tell the time, so a watch is unnecessary. I don't think I would want a $10k watch, but then again, I've never had one. I'd gladly accept the money though, and waste it promptly and merrily. Bottom line is, you shouldn't let your gf decide what wallet you should use. First it's the wallet, and before you know how, you're using deodorant and wearing underwear.

Hold on a second... pr0n and booze will rot my brain!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
-
Damn, that's a tough one. My sincerest sympathies for your loss, jorian.

Marry me!

I liked the American World Domination sig better. It fitted better the trollish style of the account. The Carebear thing is a bit... bland.
-
Yeah, okay. It's been long enough, so it's about time for whoever logged in as JK5 to confess. Don't make me have Mr. Gutman treat you to one of his famed knuckle sandwiches.
-
Namely? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Interplay and Troika. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Right on. That also means he'll get FOOL on release.

Shareware rocks. Damn shame it's not so popular anymore. Not only that. Since I read a few things about Starforce and what it does, I'm boycotting every game that uses that particular copy protection, starting with Chaos Theory. A damn fine game, but I'd rather not risk my hardware being damaged, or my system becoming unstable just because they want to make sure I'm not going to pirate a game I've paid for. It's ironic how copy protections are good only for pissing the legitimate user, the only user really affected by it, as pirated versions have already been cracked. And still, developers keep paying to include this kind of garbage in their works. Whatever.

Gustav Holst's The Planets, for instance.

Command & Conquer. The one and only. Also, some IL-2 Sturmovik. Really, how hard can it be to fly this thing!?
-
Good thing you're broke.
-
You beat me to it. I'm still waiting for them to have some of the other faction leaders for that war stand trial for war crimes.
-
If they actually start doing that, this doesn't bode well for my social life. I barely have time to play all the games I'd like, let alone browse through timewasters like that...

Some of Heinlein's works are pretty good. Starship Troopers and Stranger in a Strange Land, for instance. Aldous Huxley's Brave New World is a classic, too. Ender's Game is a must have in any sci-fi library as well. The sequels aren't bad, but they aren't in the same vein. I don't know if you'd consider 1984 as sci-fi, but it's a great book either way. I should be able to come up with loads of this stuff, but my memory just sucks. I haven't slept much either, so I'll probably add some more later.

I don't know about you, but I have been moderated for trolling. One of my two official warnings I got precisely because of that. And thanks to the mostly friendly disposition of mods and their willingness to to talk things out before enforcing the rules the hard way, I'm still able to post here. Maybe it's just that the disciplining isn't done publicly. Perhaps it should? Oh, that's that? I thought there was something else. As I said, no argument here. It's a matter of preference in the end, and the reason why I doubt I'll ever register there.
-
Yeah that explains it, then. You register here to defend your beloved Codex, because you don't care what we think. Eh... okay. That's your opinion. It's not just the profanity, that's secondary. The trolling and violent disagreement (subtle or not) are also restricted here. I don't read the Codex regularly, but from what I have read, that's not the case there. I make a point of disappointing.

ESB was probably the best of the lot. That still does not prove that the infamous quality gap that nobody can quite put their finger on actually exists, at all, between the OT and the PT. Basically what you're saying is that the OT's main cinematographic merit was to innovate. That I agree with. Note that I haven't been saying that the OT is great or anything. All I say is that the PT is not significantly worse. And now that SW is no longer new, logic dictates that the merit of the franchise is... nil. That is not a problem for me as fortunately I'm not a professional critic. Also, I have a feeling you don't look for the same things in SW films I do. I'm happy with a healthy amount of action, loads of eye candy, and enough character depth and interaction to fill the gaps in between. That's what I watch SW for. If I wanted to do mental gymnastics, delight in the creativity of experimental or alternative cinema, or experience the ecstasy of a narrative masterpiece, there are many other flicks that are much better suited for that. But perhaps I don't hold the same expectations from SW as most people seem to do. For me, it's just mindless entertainment. And it's pretty good at that.

Yeah, yeah. That sounds like the "mathematics are FUN!" speech my old teacher used to give. There's a difference between subtly making fun of someone, and drowning her in profanity. And since you can't avoid discussions where people make things personal, I'd rather have the former, myself. No argument here. But I don't see how that has anything to do with what I said. Somebody said them Codexers don't care what we think of them over here. I think this "vaultman" proves the opposite.

I got tired of reading around the part where that Serge guy rants on how New Reno doesn't fit into a post-apocaliptic setting. I thought this was supposed to be an interview? Subtlety and tip-toeing are what make overly heated discussions fun. The language filter is great for that too, when someone tries to respond with profanity only to have their post edited into a truckload of asterisks. Profanity + lack of filter = schoolyard brawls
