  1. It's funny, but in many ways that is very similar to the Islamic practice of Hadith. Where, if you have to say anything religious about a current problem, you have to analyze the words of scholars all the way back to Muhammad to find a stand. If there is no precedence, then you can't talk about the current problem in any certain religious terms - religious law if one will.
  2. Interesting, I hadn't heard of that - it's rare that humans are the villains, this is defninitly on my radar now.
  3. Free healthcare won't implode your economy, it's the general mishandling of debt.. But you guys are, in the grand scheme of things, too big to fail - so you don't have to worry. Zombies however...
  4. Gamespot takes a look at Metro: Last Light - it looks very interesting.
  5. I've been playing Dead Island with a buddy - I was skeptic at first, but it's actually really fun in coop. It's kind of a mix between Dead Rising and Borderlands. You can customize a lot of the UI and luckily the developers made it optional whether damage, lvl of enemies etc is shown - because it's a lot more fun without and feels like a proper game instead of some MMO'ish zombie game..
  6. No he just passed out, don't worry.
  7. See you guys, I'm heading for some deserted island.
  8. I bought it back when it was released, first it was buggy as hell (still is actually) - a super annoying feature is that it takes around 2-5 minutes to actually launch the game because it always searches for new downloadable content. The game mechanics are pretty bland and standard nothing bad nothing good. The story goes back and forth from stellar to horrible a few times, but usually stay around mediocre quality. At first you feel really engaged and it's nice when you figure out how to solve a case, but you soon see that it's just a pretty mirror show where no matter how you approach a case you solve it, it's only a few selected ones you can truly fail (and then you start over) - the acting is unfortunately the weakest and since you have to rely on facial clues to tell if a suspect is lying or telling the thruth it quickly gets frustrating when they overact so much that you actually can't tell what they are doing - they just look awkward and weird instead of what emotion they were told to portray. And the dialouge options are really loopy .. you choose between truth, doubt or lie when someone talks - and there is no consistency to how Phelps (the main character) reacts - you can have a pleasant conversation and then you choose doubt, because the suspect seems a little aversive and then Phelps will go "MOTHER*****!!! DON'T LIE!!!!" In short, not worth it unless under 10
  9. Yeah, well it seems this thread has run it's course.
  10. Heavy Weapons guy - now that's a clich
  11. Only good news if you think Ryan Reynolds makes a good Connor Macleod. For a moment I read that as Ryan Gosling as was very excited .. then not so much.. I think Ryan Reynolds will fit the role of Deadpool a lot better, which he is also rumored to be doing.
  12. The barbaric concept is believing that robbing people off freedom, punish and degrading them will somehow make them better people.. You know how we scorn parents who always criticize their kids and never take the time to teach them the skills to actually be good? The reason for that is it produces rotten kids - society works on a much similar principle, if people don't feel like they belong or that their actions have no real social consequence (ie they are hated no matter what), then what's gonna make them change? The carrot is infinitely better than a rod, especially working with people. Of course some a just looney and needs to be taken to a brightly lid facility with rubberwalls, but let's not judge every misdemeanor as deserving of that.
  13. It could've been very good if they'd finished the game - they originally meant to make a few more episodes to wrap up the (very) loose ends and without those it's basically 1/3 of a story.. so I can't really endorse it. edit: I was a little harsh
  14. So, Google just bought Motorola I guess that could force Microsoft into the industry as well.
  15. Hate to break it to you Morgoth, but if you've enjoyed a cookie, milk, candy or beef/meat in the recent few days you've probably participated in much worse animal cruelty than that.
  16. Hah! On a related note, I already feel sorry for the poor sods that are gonna sink with that ship in a few years time.
  17. So now he's the first gay-female-hispanic-asian-jewish president? He seems to be garnishing the titles. Is it really true that he's the first president to truly cater to these groups needs? (the Jewish especially baffled me) - I get the gay vote, but female, jewish and hispanic?
  18. You are turning into that uncle which always tell these kinda bad jokes Walsh.. not that I mind, but it's a slippery.. Damn
  19. Take it easy on yourself Calax, punishing your body to discipline your mind is generally not the way to go. At least not for the wrong reasons.
  20. You make me a little sad Raithe .. to know that this could be within our reach, yet we are too shortsighted and preoccupied with national and international bickering to do it.
  21. SNL explains the genius behind Game of Thrones
  22. I would even pay HBO if it meant I was able to watch Game of Thrones earlier .. It's so annoying that I can't watch some American series when they air in the US and have to wait (sometimes months or in some dire circumstances years) before they come here.
  23. They are simply too long - the original game had short, brutal and humorous animations. With that particular one I was already annoyed after 20 seconds, horrible sounds, boring animations and boring direction.
  24. Perfectly sums up my experiences playing with Europeans or Russians in any game so far.. You eastern Europeans are so competitive!
