Where is everyone from
Rosbjerg replied to Sales101's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
No, we have a few regulars from Russia.. even some diehard nationalists. But perhaps among the new arrivals you are. -
Well I have to admire your tenacity.. but that's not true - it is a different copy, one copy from Steam, one copy from GoG or one copy from a torrent - You have to think of them like physical entities even though they are not, because that's how they are sold. And yes, you've bought a copy through Kickstarter - now you have to choose the venue to download it from. I get that you want to buy it from GoG and put in into your Steam library to enjoy the automatic updating etc, but that is exactly like so many have pointed out - like trying to go to a different store with a product and asking for support / refund / whatever. It's never gonna happen, because Steam/GoG wants you to put money in their basket as well.

hah, wow that's gotta be pretty annoying. I have friend like that as well, I usually just end up not playing with him at all.

Let's cool the old flames shall we.

Yes, LadyCrimson is right - but as Krezack said, if you need any editing done IcyDeadPeople, just PM one of us.

Well they also managed to make a funny and crazy story wrapped around good shooting mechanic (ending was a bit wonky though) - sure the looting and respawning enemies was MMO'ish, but everything else was top quality - so it's a bit unfair to call it generic imho. Just as it would be unfair to call Diablo generic on that part.
-
Yeah Borderlands can be very grindingly MMO'ish and as Blodhemn said, in SP you really feel that - but I hate MMO's with a passion and loved Borderlands 1 in coop - so if you have some friends to play with I'd recommend it, the first game was very fun with friends.

Salt made from human tears - how decadent is that.. hah

I think the fear is that the digital copy will only be available through steam - not the physical copy. -

I can't speak for the devs of course, but I think multiplayer is a given - seeing as the old games had 'em. -

I'm guessing six like BG and so on, also given the higher kickstarter tiers recieve 5 copies extra .. so they can play a full party. -
Well, we did kinda mistreat them for the better part of 150 years - That obviously causes some residual rage that filters through generations.. And we still continue to simply invade and/or exert influence on their region at will - financially, politically and militarily.

No races are superior.. See that isn't so hard to discuss (ps. if you want to put a European at ill-ease, talk about how they perceive cultural superiority) You are however using deflective arguments.

If anyone - the Russian and Austrians were the nation most interested in destabilizing the region - as evident by the many wars the initiated.. Actually, the British Empire was very interested in keeping the Ottomans on the throne and sided with them on a number of occasions, like the Crimean War of 1854-55 - The Convention of London in 1840 also clearly stipulated (and forced through by the British), that no European power was allowed to exert any influence on the Ottoman empire, due to the fear of the destabilizing effect an Ottoman collapse would have on Europe. it was only during the rising nationalism of the Balkans that popular opinion shifted in the British population and the government was forced to let Ottoman empire dissolve, which of course - as they feared, paved the way for the greather conflicts that would finally escalate into WW1. I can heartily recommend "The Arabs - A history" by Eugene Rogan - if anyone is interested in the history of the middle east.

Actually, us adults can handle a joke without flying off the handle.. Watch the tone.

Just played Artemis ship brige simulator with 8 players divided on 2 ships.. 2 projectors in 2 rooms and 6 laptops and 2 stationary as the main view screens.. It's an absolutely hilarious game. Especially when the action thickens and the orders are flying around, it's actually pretty tough being a captain on a starship. But as you might imagine, it requires some time to set up.. It looked kinda like this.
-
I'm not eligible for the trail either - so it's free to 15 for new players.. I'll wait till fall anyway, don't have the time to play at the moment anyway
-
Nope, you can't play the game at all unless you are paying.. I just tried. I couldn't activate my account without paying at least 1 months subscription.

Deus Ex spoiler ahead: You need to read some contemporary history .. This is not a cycle that is currently going on. It's also fairly easy argue that technology is the reason why we are having problems - to say that technological advancement is universally good is a bit naive.. Black/white definitions are by their nature a simplification and therefore almost always wrong. How did you use those augs? The great thing about these kind of games are that they make you consider the theme, morality, ethical implications etc. I can see why you would prefer the option you took (which I took as well), but to say that's it's the only logical one is wrong imho. I would say that even thinking that kinda shows you haven't thought it entirely through.
-
Well all of the option had appeal in my opinion, but it came down to whether you trusted the people involved in each of them.
