  1. True, but Steam still advises not to buy from unauthorized retailers and if you buy it from these places they can't offer support either - so it's a risk, I just wanted to point that out. But it's your money and your account so..
  2. Friend of mine made a good Diablo .. Is the game any good? I think I might be tempted.
  3. Careful with those sites, Steam has on some occassions disabled games bought through those kind of places as some games are region locked.. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=11995777&postcount=4
  4. True, but then you won't really have "consequence", or at least not in coherent matter. It's fairly important for the game mechanics to keep track of what you are doing in order to present you with a believable reaction to your actions - whether or not that 'tracking' needs to be shown to the player is a fair point.
  5. Anyone want 75% off on Portal 2? I have the game and got a Steam coupon for some reason (offer ends on 30th of August)
  6. Damn Gorgon, that must've had him worried? How old is he? I sympathize, I've had a similar binge a few years back - I've also had the drink heavily binge and gaming is much easier to recover from, so Malcador is right in that regard. Still sucks when people around you are idiots though.. hope a better job, or at least some way to cope, presents itself.
  7. Ending the rebellion one stab at the time..
  8. Speaking of Curiosity. http://www.360cities.net/image/curiosity-rover-martian-solar-day-2#403.32,-4.84,110.0
  9. It saves pretty regularly on the autosave spot, when you exit shops or your homebase.
  10. Yeah I'm pleasantly surprised as well, it's actually a solid RP / adventure game.
  11. I see I went the boring route in Saints Row.
  12. Interesting, you're good at this Tigs, so I'm looking forward to it Also because I suck at CK, so maybe I can get some tips. Hah, yeah I was wondering that too, when you make a thread you check the "make tag as prefix"..
  13. Interesting, seems crowdfunding and the indie scene is really accelerating. Which is great, more competition means better services and prices for the consumers.
  14. So you basically piledrived yourself for 2 chicks? Ahh.. the stupid things we do to impress. Next time go talk to them instead, that works a lot better. :D
  15. Final Fantasy Spirit Within was actually ok. But you're right, on average game to movie conversions usually suck.
  16. Yeah, but it was the best description I could think of.. and it is true, some facets are very polished and some are very rough. Just lost my first game - I was ages ahead of my ally in terms of tech and then suddenly (30'ish turns later) they win the game - turns out they rushed for a tech victory and I had purposefully not researched that last one so I could destroy them the old fashioned way. The game needs a pop-up telling you how far the other players are to complete the victory condition.
  17. Sins is more like Starcraft, where you build an army and invade and manage that army and the empire aspect is secondary.. this is closer to Galactic Civilization 2 or Civ 5 where the army aspect is secondary to the empire management.
  18. It's actually very good, I've been playing it for a few days now.. It's indie so there are some strange features, but it's a very polished diamond in the rough.. It's basically what Masters of Orion 3 tried to be. So if you like Galactic Civ 2, MOO or any of the other 4x space builder games, then it's a definite hit. The only minus is that both combat and diplomacy are a little underwhelming - especially diplomacy. An interesting feature is that you start at "cold war" with newly met races, which means you can attack their ships and outposts without any serious penalty and vice versa - so early game there are a lot of small skirmishes, which brings us to combat, which is a 3 stage thing where you play cards at each phase which affects the outcome (like repairing your ships or hacking the enemy ships so they are less accurate) and the enemy also plays cards, it's kinda rock-paper-scissor'ish) - it's fun at first, but it gets boring after the 20th time.
  19. Not so much a discovery, but a really nice little video showing our blue planet from the ISS.
  20. It does, but it allows you to play offline if you normally can't.
  21. Well I liked the meaninglessness of it - these
  22. 5 people decided to back the game with 5000$, that's pretty crazy .. Who has that kind of money to throw at a game? But extremely well done, I honestly didn't believe it would get above 200 grand.
  23. They should've gone with the Freespace version of badass annihilators..
