  1. So as of patch 1.04 I noticed that after I enchanted my weapons with burning lash, even if i swap to new weapons without said enchantment they still have the fire FX glow on them no matter what. Didn't know if this was a known bug or not.
  2. Thanks for your commitment as always. I am curious to know what early loot-table the Blunderbuss was on though. Don't think I ever ran across it.
  3. Sheesh, after all this I hope we can get these interface mods at least partially working with the game. I really like the work you've been showing us.
  4. Bah, I will just re-roll until I have at least 100 points to spend on abilities and then......oh wait.
  5. I am......sorry for your loss? It's at times like these you have to remember that video games are a privelage, not a right. Life gets in the way and sometimes it leads us to outcomes that just don't sit well with us. But I bet maybe, JUST maybe if you try really hard and ask really nicely there may be a saint out there who would be willing to sell you his collectors edition. It may be at a slight premium, but it's better than the outrageous markup one might see elsewhere. Best of luck.
  6. While all those items presented on that list aren't a big deal for myself, What I am (not) waiting for are the complaints from the thousands and thousands of people who haven't been keeping up with development and haven't experienced what the game truly plays like yet. So many other forums I see people talking about this game claiming it will be "just like BG1/2 and ID, and it's going to play just like it!" Boy are they in for a rude awakening.
  7. A......beautiful map to display somewhere? I bet quite a few peoples still have their cloth maps from BG, ID, and other RPGs just sitting around. ...............I know I do.
  8. I want a beetle cheat, where the entire party becomes beetles. Game should have been called Beetles of Eternity.
  9. Suspension of disbelief has always worked well for me in any debate I have with another over the matter. Everyone has their tipping point on how far down the rabbit hole they want to go in believing what is "probable" in a given setting.
  10. Didn't read every single reply but in the reviewers little defense they have, you do have to pause quite a lot in battle I have noticed. A bit more than I care for so far. Maybe as time goes on, or in PoE2/3/6/alpha-12 we will see you be bale to queue up multiple actions/tactics so that you don't have to pause after every single round or face annihilation.
  11. Personally It doesn't matter too much to me. For some reason I love the "big-picture" story in RPGs but when it comes down to companion stories I never care much for any of them.
  12. I believe certain areas have a chance for rain to appear. I don't think we will see snow or bad storms unless a specific area calls for it though.
  13. The expansion is beetles. Nothing but beetles and beetles and more beetles. Venture into Beetle cave and explore Beetle city while taking a nice stroll along Beetle coast.
  14. I really don't have too much say in the matter as I just want the game ASAP. Time to slay some beetles!
  15. Worst case scenario within 1-2 months after the game's release there should be plenty of juicy tid-bits that the community has thrown together to help out in all aspects whether the topic are: builds, quests, battle system, etc. Tried running with a cypher this time. DId better than the Ranger run, but Monk, Barb, and Fighter were still cleaner runs for myself.
  16. Yeeesh I can barely complete the demo on EASY no less without dying 20-25 times. No way those achievements will ever be in my profile.
  17. Going to be awhile before I play it. Leaving the country on the 26th to travel to Japan to visit family and friends and participate in the festivities around that time. Get back in mid-April so I guesstimate we will have oh.....29 patches by that time, no?
  18. Funny enough the non-magical ammo thing I never thought about until it was pointed out and I agree it would be cool to have. However, right now I am so disappointed with the Ranger class as it is that I would rather they dedicate time to fixing that first.
  19. Wow, thanks for the advice. Funny enough, it's not the beetles that have been giving me grief but the lions (which I see Prime mentioned), the druids in the gorge, and just a few encounters in the dungeons. I beat the beta again....more easily I suppose last night with a barbarian but once again when I tried playing a range or caster character (tried ranger and chanter) I found myself getting obliterated again. Watched Josh's recent stream to see how he was playing and picked up a few more basic tips just from seeing how he handled his combat structure. I don't know what all they plan on changing before the next BB/release but I must say my two biggest complains so far are that fighters and paladins still feel like pieces of paper which just.....isn't right. I know they're not supposed to be zounds and zounds of health but damn man, 5 hits and they're out is just silly. My 2nd gripe is ranged combat via rangers. I noticed some other topics discussing this class (and ranged damage in general) and it is just awful. I think my biggest flaw though is also having my animal companion in the fray and then when they die.....well.... Will keep practicing, it's the only way to get better.
  20. But....but my custom modded, venusuvian, polka-dotted, pin-striped tailed, purple-eyed, blue-bow wearing lizardgirl must have her portrait! 500,000 simply won't do.
  21. I will straight up admit that I am not the best at these types of games. Even back whe Baldurs Gate and Icewind Dale first released I never fully grasped the intensity of the battle/gameplay system and more often that not found myself dying continously. I would play on easy mode (if available) and only crank up the difficulty if I thought I was doing well. Nonetheless in 1999 I got hooked on the forgotten realms setting and have been a fan of games of the similar series and style ever since. I haven't played the BB since the very first iteration came out and 1 update afterwards. I was turned off immensely by how the games battle system handled itself and after 10-15 tries I finally decided to put it down and wait for more updated/stability. But I didn't fully blame it on design, I knew that I was never great at RLTB mechanics and knew it would be a challenge. So now I have returned on version 392 and I finally complested my first runthrough the other night of the beta. I created a Monk and believe you me it took almost 2 full days to get through it due to al the dying/reloading. Now that I've gone through once I've decided to go through again as a ranger this time and I must say I am struggling terribly with damage control. More specifically endurance and health damage on my entire party. I find that if I am not running at least 2 front-line/tank characters my entire party is getting wiped way too easily. The first time this happened while playing my monk I shrugged it off to sloppy play on my end but as time went on I noticed that I was dying quite more frequently than I felt I should be. So now with the front line fighter only being the BB Fighter itself, encounters are completely destroying my party. Some observations/stats: I am playing on easy (yes go ahead and laugh) I have to fight my battles in slow/half speed (yes go ahead and laugh again) It looks like the Fighter at his starting level in the beta can hold a max of 2 enemies on him? At times it looks like only one but Im almost positive he has an ability to hold 2 but am not sure how to do it. Positioning seems to be a huge issue as my characters love to get stuck on themselves/enemies which completely negates their actions. I think I am playing the BB rogue wrong. It LOOKS like based on his weapons and skils that he should be a sneaky front line fighter; and while I have gotten a sneak attack off once the battle starts the enemies just absolutely tear him to shreds in 1-2 hits, which leads me into.... Just like the first BB version characters just seem made out of paper in this game. Is my fighter supposed to get knocked out in 4-5 hits? I have the priest try to keep up with endurance restoration but because 3 or 4 of the 5 total enemies are concentrated on my ranger, rogue, or wizard instead of the fighter (see problem 3 above) the priest then must do whatever they can to keep those units alive instead of my fighter. In short, I suck at the game, but that doesn't mean it's bad or I dislike it. It just takes adapting and learning how to manage the encounters. And I would be more than appreciative of any advice or help you all might be able to impart on me based on the observations above. Cheers.
  22. I think we could perhaps get a better understanding of your....dissatisfaction for the current look if you were perhaps to elaborate on what exactly you were expecting perchance?
  23. But,,,,,but I need my ludicrous servings of fantasy, adventure, inter-species romance drama! You just don't understand Lephys, I NEED IT!
