  1. After a while the stomach contracts and you stop feeling very hungry, that's how people can stand going on fast. It's not going to kill you. It doesn't 'cleanse' your system from 'accumulated toxins' though. Complete hippie nonsense.
  2. Depends on the diet now doesn't it.If you don't eat enough calories to gain weight you will not become obese.

  4. It is a bit weird seeing cops with submachineguns everywhere. I suspect it's more a PR thing, showing the flag and whatnot, than a practical consideration.
  5. Had a longer day than expected at work. There was word of a terrorist attack two blocks from where we're located and we wanted to, you know, not get shot on the way home. Took off once I saw an update that the shooters had escaped in a car. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-31472423
  6. More or less verbatim from a danish editorial : If Putin isn't going to crack under sanctions and a new guy isn't going to overthrow him then the sanctions will have been worse than a waste of time. Putin is not scared of sanctions, protecting Russia's interests, which is how he views Ukraine, is a higher calling.
  7. I had tinitus untill I fell asleep drunk up against a speaker (at least that's what I thought happened, legendary bender for a young Gorgon) I woke up deaf, well hearing impared, not enough to bother with hearing aids, in my right ear and free of tinitus. I don't recommend anyone emulate this approach.
  8. Interstellar marines is free til 15/2. I think I might bite and try it out.
  9. You mean to say that's the same little guy floating from left to right every day and if you try to focus on him he dissapears. I thought it was just dirt or specs of whatever on the outside of your eyeball magnified, not a permanent kinda thing.
  10. The cappo de tutti cappo of where I work toured our deparment today, went into the kichen and when he came back the fridge magnets were arranged into a ****andballs, which everyone swears they weren't before. As you can imagine few other things seem worthy of discussion.
  11. I think Stewart looked a bit tired the last couple of months, like he had already made his retirement money and would rather do something else. The show has had some incredible high points though. The fact that the show could out compete the regular news media in credibility should tell you something about how bad things really are.
  12. Why? It's better than Skyrim.m Probably, but it's an MMO. If you are looking for a single player experience. MMO design usually has a detrimental effect onn that.
  13. Can't we just forget about that game already.
  14. Straight pullback Swiss army rifle. Forget what it's called. More than half a century of active service.
  15. It's all very nice, but they don't shoot war arrows, which are thick and have a lot of mass to drive home an armor penetrating arrowhead. But I'm sure he can totally Jhon Wu all the rabits and small game that can be brought down with that kind of low poundage trickshot.
  16. Laser fuel for powerful beams is actually really expensive. It's a whole other ballpark than consumer level lasers and only really viable for something like the anti missile role. A railgun uses an array of electro magnets and onboard a destroyer or something with a huger powerplant it looks feasible.
  17. Reminds me a bit of newyear's. People smoking and joking around and then going off to shoot a bunch of ordinance they had brough along
  18. The pros probably wouldn't be uploading to youtube.
  19. Yes, ha ha. I'm pretty sure soldiers don't go to war with passports, that's what dogtags are for. There are loads of Russian weekend warriors though, amateurs who go there for the glory, that's were the passports are from, and considering the size of the rebel controlled areas it's entirely unlikely that they would have been able to keep up a steady supply of war material without Russian aid.
  20. What is that document exactly, is it some sort of description for internal purposes or a script for teachers to follow in case they forget what they are doing. It seems a bit Soviet Russia to have every engagement with the students pencilled out like that and all the points you want to make already power pointed.
  21. I don't understand how there can be room for a middleman when you are basically just handing over money. Why didn't the banks get together and do that themselves, or the credit/debit card companies ?
  22. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMsSY8SZ4jk
  23. Pop quiz, see if you can guess without google : how many broken arrow incidents during the cold war (western allied and public knowledge, Soviet numbers aren't known)
  24. I wonder if I will be able to make it to the final product. My mouse has hovered over the SDK more than once.
  25. Mock bombing runs and mock incursions into the airspace of non allied nations is part and parcel of a game that has been played since the cold war. You present to have that intent and veer off at the last minuite. It keeps airforces on their toes and ready to challenge so it's not all bad. We should be grateful really, it's not like NATO could afford to do that on regular excercise basis anyway.
