USB Type-C
USB 3 is already 5 gbs, that's fast enough to boot from. I think I might have old cables connected to my mobo because I'm getting USB 2 speeds from my external HDD. Doesn't really matter tho. A few seconds more staring at the progress bar.

White People: What They Say in Public vs Behind Closed Doors
Individual words don't have to matter, especially if focusing on them leaves out a full understanding of the speakers intent. This is usually the case with expletives that come with a heavy emotional burden for some listeners, such as the word '****'. https://www.google.dk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=louis+ck+%27n%27+word Words don't exist in isolation, though. Sure, take the mean as a whole, using context and other social cues. Same goes with sentence to paragraphs and paragraphs to pages, etc. etc. etc. ...And even expletives and the like *do* convey a meaning. Of course, like context, the tone of the words makes a huge difference. Body language makes a huge difference. That's why communicating in writing often takes a lot more finesse, or least a different finesse, than communicating in person. You can smile when you say 'jackass' which softens it and makes it friendlier. Of course, to mimic this, online forums have emoticons. I guess it comes down to 'can you identify the speaker's intention or not ?'. If the intention is not to offend then I don't think there are any words that should be 'off limits'. It gets problematic when you are adressing a larger public audience because then the subtext, the 'inside joke' can't really be assumed to be shared. I recall something from a grammar course years ago that actually made sense http://grammar.about.com/od/rs/g/speechactterm.htm

Jewish Student's character questioned based on her faith
What's wrong with displaying the flag? Personally, I don't care what anyone does with the flag. Burn it if you want, display it if you want... I get how some people may be offended by burning or otherwise "disrespecting" it in their mind but I find it hard to follow who is upset by the flag just being visible What's wrong with not displaying the flag ?. It's not a government institution, they don't have to.

Jewish Student's character questioned based on her faith
You could probably burn the Danish flag all day and suffer no ills other than smoke inhalation. I'm quite serious.

Jewish Student's character questioned based on her faith
So they have an ounce of taste. What's wrong with that.,, Americans and their flag obsession, honestly.

What you did today
Was talking with some people who actually knew their time to run 10, 20, ect km and tried to improve it. They have a running buddy system, you know where you pressure eachother out of making excuses to make sure everybody shows up, and asked me to join. I realised that I have never been 'in shape', not one time in my entire life and accepting would inevitably compromise the system. Maybe I should try, just for the experience. Nahh, too much work.

STEAM!
I used to for uploading music, since it was the premier video-sharing site at the time (and still is). Hard to do that without signing in. When I'm not signed in it looks like a 13 year old girl's myspace page. Makeup tips, every day 'hacks'. You know stupid **** you can make out of beer cans that is going to make your life sooo much easier, and cookie-whatever the sweedish 'lets play' megastar.

Obama's Iran talks
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-31716684 Am i the only one who is worried that Netanyahu can only keep track of three or four sentences at a time. Look at that pile of pages. There is room for a lot more bullet points on an A4 page than that and since everything is a punchline I don't see how one would need anything other than bullet points.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
It was something like 20 $ before ? and you get access to their support network. Minor adjustment anyway probably meant to try and get their whole install base be legitimate.

The Funny Things thread
A little late to the party. How does that guy keep getting his projects up? Doesn't KIckstarter look at them and notice they are ridiculous? He tried to raise 5 million for a farm. Becase they are thinking about their 5% of the 43 $ he has raised so far ?. Or it's more calculating. KS has been getting some negative press about how you never hear about the failed projects, about how they get stigmatised in what is sometimes a crapshoot of PR luck and management. Perhaps seeing projects that 'deserve' to become nothing will help.

What are you playing now?
Still battling my way through Homeworld remastered. Battling the bad mission triggers, the fights are easy enough. This is the third time I've had to sift through walkthroughs to complete a mission a certain way guaranteed to work. HW2 works flawlessly, unfortunately it's not the better of the two. It was a bit wonky when it came out, but isn't that what a 'remastering' is supposed to fix ? Did have a few wow moments along the way, like playing through the garden of Kadesh with modern graphics.

Multiplayer vs. Single Player
I Like both. Absolutely hate most singleplayer games designed for multiplayer coop. I'm thinking Borderlands, Dying Light, Ascreed, Farcry etc. The point of playing a couple of people together is to fight other people, not a stale AI.

What you did today
the traditional view is that it makes a real mess of the polycount and you wind up with artifacts that are going to carry over in shading. 3ds boxmodeling is bloody hopeless though. A lot of people still swear by it as the place to start.

rip Boris Nemtsov
Well Can I ask you what your'e basing this analysis on? I didn't realize there was such a gap between Putin and the FSB, I always thought that was for plausible deniability It could be people he egged on in Ukraine but doesn't exactly control.

What are you playing now?
FEAR two had AI improvements that were pretty advanced for their time. Actually you could argue that they never got any better. Eyecandy was always more important.
-
What are you playing now?
Fear 2 was the good one if I remember correctly. After that it was cumulatively thinner soup and cheaper scares.

Movies you've seen recently
There has been an alien script, supposedly leaked on the internets and been around forever with just that premise. It was pretty decent actually. Ripley and Hicks going at the aliens again, who wouldn't want to see that.

What are you playing now?
You could try HW2 singleplayer. So far I've not been able to get past mission 9 in HW1 where there is a ship with unlimited health.
