  1. Uh Pulchra could also be pulcher, different quotes from different sources.
  2. copy/paste 1) Illusion: "Veritas, Credo, Oculos" = "The truth, I believe, with my eyes" or "Truth, I trust my eyes" 2) Alteration: "Praeses, Alia, Fero" = "Protecting, another, I bring this forth" or "I, protecting, bring change" 3) Necromancy: "Vita, Mortis, Careo" = "Life, and death, I am without" or "I separate life from death" 4) Divination: "Scio, Didici, Pecto" = "I know, for I have studied, with my mind" or "I know, I have learned, I seek [to know more]" 5) Abjuration: "Manus, Potentis, Paro" = "A hand, powerful, I prepare" or "I prepare a powerful hand" 6) Evocation: "Incertus, Pulchra, Imperio" = "Uncertain, beautiful things, I command" or "I control beautiful mysteries". 7) Conjuration: "Facio, Voco, Ferre" = "This I do, I call, to bring you forth" or "I make, I call, I bring" 8 ) Enchantment: "Cupio, Virtus, Licet" = "I want, excellence, allowed to me" or "I desire bravery; let it be permitted!" The first meanings seems to be made using google translate, the second seem to be made with understanding of Latin. Make of that what you will.
  3. That is why I won't touch the beta until it's somewhere near it's end.
  4. @Josh Any insight on the xp system? Is it really quest xp only, or will there also be objectives?
  5. Good question, though it seems like Josh is not discussing xp.
  6. So does that mean that unique items are not enchantable?
  7. That is all just bad quest design.
  8. The Martian, excellent book that I highly recommended to anyone. It's about an astronaut stranded(presumed dead) on Mars with 1 year of food and the next mission is in 4 years.
  9. Guess many people missed that, I certainly did. Though it's worth adding that it's not just the xp system that is in question here but that is off topic. Also reading the comments in the thread you linked now, just lol.
  10. Go through the PoE updates and you will see why it can't happen. The 2d backgrounds are made with that angle specifically in mind, not to mention lighting and shadows.
  11. I think you don't understand what isometric camera means. Anyways it's technically impossible to rotate the camera.
  12. She can break my **** anytime.
  13. Nobody cares what he is saying so don't worry too much about it.
  14. Keep the same xp, reduce side quest xp. I would still be a minimal difference in xp, as monsters still give much smaller rewards then quest xp (if we are following the IE formula). Ok I understand now, but I don't think that would be very complex to figure out, just work. Bring down quest xp by the amount of kill xp available. This would best be done in the side quest for exploration kills and in the main quest for the unavoidable creature encounters (if you are only doing the main quest). Ah then I already addressed that in the previous post. I doubt they make an algorithm for such a thing. As I said in the previous post, make the main quest line + the unavoidable encounters on that line give just enough xp that the game can be beat and then add the rest of the xp to the side quests.
  15. I'm all for it but in a higher level game, so sequel.
  16. It would have been equally as stupid. There is no point in comparing walking and combat because there is no comparison. No my assumption is "if it attacks me, I'm suppose to kill it". "If it's there, I'm supposed to kill it.", is your assumption which no one shares. What he/she is trying to say is not true. Per kill xp will not effect the outcome of quest solution, because the quest xp will be balanced to give equal rewards. As for exploration encounters, so far all we have seen is unavoidable combat, which is what I was talking about, so there is really no choice there.
  17. Now that the backer beta has been pirated, this site is really getting hammered with viewers.
  18. http://www.thenews.pl/1/11/Artykul/179542,New-Witcher-movie-in-pipeline
  19. IWD was very hit and miss, while IWD2 was the best of the IE games music wise. The menu music for IWD still makes me want to stab my ear drums.
  20. That is so stupid, in fact it made me wanna give the game a try more then it did anything to discourage me.
  21. 1.Why would difficulty change xp? 2.If the creatures are accessible beyond the confines of the quest (which makes sense if another quest can "share" them), ie. by exploring, then I wouldn't count them towards the total xp of the quest. Are we giving xp for picking locks/disarming traps/etc.? Even if we do those, the question would only matter on maybe level 1 through 3, as the xp rewards for those actions would be inconsequential. 3.I don't understand your first sentence, you need to reword it. The algorithm already exists for the IE games, why would you need a new one? Why would the system be bolted on. It's not like there is an xp system already in place for the BB.
  22. Ok let's try this again. Combat =/= walking. I mean quests are also unavoidable and I didn't see you compare them to walking. Ok so what is the problem there? You kill monsters whenever you come across them, you are rewarded with xp, they are monsters they will attack you anyways. Not really following what you are trying to say here.
