Ah Mloxians are pretty awesome, that sounds good to me. Can't wait to hear from the others. The idea is to have an on-going campaign where characters go from adventure to adventure, no doubt the party will change along the way, so whenever you'd like to we can always write another player in. This is mainly to be sustained by not only the personality and back stories that the characters have, but also the future adventures that may shape them in different ways. Unfortunately Fanstasy Grounds isn't free, so I don't think we'll be using that. I think i'll stick with Roll20.

Keep in mind that there is a extended character options book (Which I own), and the little fact that you don't have to limit yourselves to what's in the book. If you have an idea for a focus or a descriptor, we can discuss it and make it work.
-
Well, looks like we have a party of three so far, that's great! In terms of software, I've looked into Roll20, and it has everything I'd need for running it. It also has Numenera-Specific character sheets which would be nice for both you(the players), and help me keep track of things. I think i'll be using that, but you guys will need to create an account (assuming you don't have one already) So, when would you guys be available for a session? Since the first Session will mainly involve character generation i'd like you guys to start thinking about what you want to play. It is important to note that in Numenera you do not need a balanced party, you can easily play a party of Glaives(Warriors), Nanos(Magicians) or Jacks(rouges). To help you think of what kind of a character you want to play, use this tool. Mind you this only contains the core character options, and I have a book that greatly expands on that, we can discuss that in the character generation session. The character creation is essentially describing your character by who he or she is, and what they do: I'm a <Adjective> <Noun> who <Does X> Descriptor, Class and Focus respectively. To help you with the setting a bit: Numenera is about a world where 8 civilizations have risen, fallen, disappeared or ascended leaving everything behind. The origins of many races and creatures are unknown. It's about a medieval society in a very bizarre world populated by, simply put, alien monstrosities, artifacts and mysterious devices and bioes that a scattered around the globe. Welcome to the Ninth World!

A session could last anywhere between 2-4 hours. And no, you won't be needing the books since I already own them, there's character generators online and i can walk you through character creation. If we're going to play Numenera, you're in luck since I actually have some experience running the thing, and some complimentary books. Changeling, i've only ever read it, but am very interested in running a game! Unfortunately i'm not very familiar with the software used for playing PnP games online, Is there anything that can run the Storyteller system or Numenera? or maybe something where I can costumize the rules? I'll have a look around. As for players, do you guys happen to know if there's anyone else that's interested?
-
Hey guys, So.. My gaming group no longer wishes to commit time to pnp gaming... Being unable to find any other people who are interested in Pen and Paper tabletop gaming I decided to take it online! So as a result i'm looking for people interested in having a weekly session (negotiable) at sometime: Monday - Friday -> after 22:00 CET Saturday & Sunday -> anytime The books I own are the following: Numenera Vampire the Masquerade 2e Changeling: The lost World of Darkness Mage: The Ascension Monsters and Other Childish Things So i'd be willing to DM any of those. Or if there's a group of you out there playing, im interested in most systems. Thank you for your attention, let me know if there's anyone interested.

What Is Ironman Mode To You?
PoisonWar replied to Chippy's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I find Ironman mode to be more compelling in the end, more satisfying. I have played through Diablo II and III on "hardcore" mode and I absolutely loved the experience, being methodical and careful, and the amount of times I got barely away with my life just added to my attatchment to my Amazon, or my demon hunter... I still perfer my amazon though.. Another game I played with Ironman would be Bloodbowl, you do get attached to your players and it's a bummer when they died, especially if you give them names and they progress far. ToEE is great, but unfortunately It's beyond my skills, I have given it multiple attampts but I never managed to do well. Well, writing this has made me want to replay diablo II, I think it's time for my Amazon to go on another adventure. -
Cultural weapons
PoisonWar replied to GhoulishVisage's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Culture is great, but yes I think the items should be usable despite cultural difference. Maybe have cultures built around gods and their symbols as opposed to races, or why not have both? Personally I think each culture-based item should have a trait, kind of like the gun manufacturers in Borderlands 2, but of course not as exclusive; and should only be there to add variery and flavour to the world created. -

Very well said, as for dragon age, I really recomend you play the first one + expansion if you enjoyed Baldur's Gate. And I agree, characters should be affected and changed by/during the journey, even if it's a little bit, not all of us would be moved the same way by an event after all. But it's this change that helps characters have a compelling character arc, and in the end makes them good characters. Back to dragon age, the origin stories help your own PC have a character arc, in a significant way.

Lies, lying in conversation
PoisonWar replied to OliverUv's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Yep lying in Planescape was actually interesting, sure it may not affect the game in a mechanical way, but you're developing your own character here, does he or she embrace lies to get the upper hand? It's more interesting when your character has a character arc of his or her own, evolves over time and so on.. plus it may net you some extra experience or help you avoid danger. As for colour coding or [this], i have to say, just have the intent written beside the line in brackets, fill in the blanks yourself, such as the tone, emphasis on a specific word or whatever it is. As long as the intention of the action or words are clear to the player. With colours though you may forget which is which and colours all lined up like that just screw with the eyes, an offender of this was Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines where you had like 4 or 5 multicoloured options at the same time and it was quick the mess up.- 67 replies

Accents
PoisonWar replied to Godwin's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I quite like accents in games, I find them entertaining and they could potentially add to the character's depth or well.. "Characteristics". They speak of a character's origin or where he was brought up or by who. [small spoiler]This thread reminds me of that character in the Bard's Tale who spoke really strong scottish(definitely fake), and only one person could understand him xD. EDIT: Here's a video: Maybe they could add a Torment-ish feature where you can have a companion translate someone's speech if you are unable to understand it yourself. -
Most of the cast of Dragon age 2: Anders: First of all, Anders in awakening - one of the coolset characters ever, what the hell have they done to him in dragon age 2? Okay, he's not got the spirit of Justice, who was awesome as well in awakening, but there were MASSIVE side effects...in the writing, they could have done it so much better, instead of making him a whiny emo prick... The real Anders died at Vigil's keep... Even if he survived. Fenris: Well i think this was a way for EA to sell the game to Final Fantasy fans. Isabela: Yeah... STDs - The character. Just one note over and over again. Yeah, dragon age 2, if played using only the sarcastic/witty options and adding a classic comedy track after every couple of lines could have been a relatively enjoyable game.. assuming it's all a joke and Varric is full of crap... Which may be a possibility. NWN 2 - I actually did not like Bishop, he was a prick, definitely not someone i'd want to watch my back, though we do need characters like this for diversity, it makes things more interesting and unpredictable. Baldur's Gate - Edwin, never really liked this guy, maybe because I was on Minsc's side. But on the other hand i was never interested in knowing what this guy was about, so yeah more intrigue please! Well that's all I can think for now, I may add some more character later.

Let us corrupt our companions
PoisonWar replied to Cultist's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Our companions always corrupt us even thought we may not notice. We often side with our companions on some pretty dark choices even if we were trying to do good the entire time, we may resort to murder if it means our companion's nemesis will no longer threaten them. And we think that we're in control... -
Don't know if this has been covered in previous updates, but have the origins of said gods been identified? Can regular mortals ascend to gods? Edit: The new race looks great, kind of reminds me of the Asura from Guild wars, but with human features.

Would love to see a KotOR 3, Bioware really should'nt have touched that IP with SWTOR as it adds complications to writing the story for the game. But luckily KotOR 2 and SWTOR are 200 years appart, so that makes things a little easier. Don;t know if you can top tha finale though.

Favourite Companions
PoisonWar replied to Alexjh's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Okay let us begin: Fall-From-Grace Wynne Nordom Minsc EDIT: Yeah i just remembered that Troika characters are allowed, I'm replacing Loghain with Serena But yeah, adding to the discussion of best written female protagonist, I think Kreia takes the cake. -
Hey guys, new here, so I thought I'd thow in some more armors that look awesome. Here are the four I found. Armor and Cape Renaissance gold League of legends is probably not the best advisor when it comes to armor, but I feel they've really nailed the Iron Solari skin from her: Jeanne d'Arc (mini statue) Then there's Tyrael's armor from diablo, I love the combination of cloth and metal

I like the idea of having attacks graze the enemy, which means that misses are less often, and the game is more satisfying. There's few things more annoying than a miss.
