  1. It really stunned me when I saw soooo much detail in Assassin's creed 3. A dog chasing a cat ( with nice animations ) sooo many animals in the wilds. The taverns are so damn atmospheric with ppl drinking, dancing, singing, playing instruments and playing board games and so on and the cities so full of ppl of life it is AMAZING. The atmosphere of the game is incredible every one is doing something and talking to each while in rpgs ppl mostly walk, talk and well thats it. The closest to Assassins creed atmospheric cities was imho Witcher 2. I would be amazed if someone would actually make a triple AAA rpg ( which is nearly impossible ) on the engine of Assassin's where the cities would be finally crowded and HUUUUUUGE. IT WOULD BE AWESOME. It is sad that that Assassin which actually doesnt need this kind of things can afford it and crpgs do not .
  2. I always looked at magic as a sort of manipulation of the elements. I didnt like the Idea that a mage could poof a magic violet sword out of nowhere and stuff like this, and therefore I always imagined mages to be manipulators of elements ( Like in Avatar the benders, I created my idea long before the show ). The plan was that mages always specialize in only one element. If they were born in winter theyre element was Water if Summer it was fire, spring was earth and Fall was air. They can still use other elements but they have to use more life energy to do so. Instead of mana I used life. What does this mean ? Well if a mage casts often spells hes likely to die at a young age. This is why mages learn to fight with light swords ( rapiers or Messer ) and bucklers to try not to cast a spell everytime. So that is my imagination of mages. Ofc in my setting mages were forbidden. They were killed by templars when they saw first signs of any form of magic. They were killed often being only small babies ( This idea came to me just before the announcement of DA:O at the time I didnt know they had the same Idea as I did : P ). The Idea is that they can only cast spells if they are in their element. The air manipulators have an Easy job Air is everywhere. the strength of the spells depends on the strength of the wind. Water manipulators can only cast when water is around the same goes for fire and earth. It would be cool to see such a system in P:E. I dont like the spells in D&D theyre kind off weird. Magic missile and such dont have really a good explanation. And I like low fantasy therefore Hail the elements ! ( sorry for my bad writing I try but im not the best at english )
  3. I always imagined elves to be more like this Why ? Well they obviously love nature, Live within a forest and are usually hunters. I like my elves Nomadish or stuff like that. In my setting I made them in fact more savage. Believing in rituals and old Gods for whom blood sacrifices must be made and stuff. Elves are common slaves in the human kingdoms and so on. So yeah. I guess everybody has its own fantasy of them. And this is mine : P.
  4. Look at Sacred. They did a really cool job if it goes for dismembering and bloodstains and stuff. I love bloodstains and places like in gothic were bodies were lying around with arrows sticking in them and an empty caravan and stuff. IT REALLY IMPROVES THE MOOD.
  5. Yes it did. It was optional and it wasnt even a story introduction. It was in a small dungeon or basement and u had to kill some gibberlings and open some stuff.
  6. If someone begs me to hurry because someone is in Danger I want to have only some amount of time to help him. I want to have the time to equip me for the journey with bandages and stuff and I want to have time to get there. But I really dont want it to be to hardcore.
  7. IIRC you can skip the Candlekeep tutorial by going directly to Gorion and saying "let's blow this popsicle stand". You don't actually have to go around curing cows, finding swords, killing rats, or any of the other little side activities. I'm in favor of this kind of optional, sure, in that you can breeze through it without breaking stride. I know some people found Irenicus' dungeon in BG2 to be overlong and annoying, and it was not the same kind of optional that Candlekeep was--you had to fight your way out so you were kind of forced to go around collecting the bits. That being said, my favorite sequence in a game to date was the beginning of KotOR 2 both on the Ebon Hawk and on Peragus IV. It was by far the best part of the game. AAAA ur right ! I remember now. I played the game 3 times and I did all the activities again not because I thought I have to I just wanted to. I honestly dont remember Kotor 1 and 2.
  8. I actually loved the tutorial from Baldur's gate 1. I enjoyed walking around Candlekeep and doing stuff. But it should optional because if someone wants to replay the game he would be forced to play again a rather slow paced fragment of the game. But I like tutorials I play in every game all tutorials if available.
  9. Instead of Minor races I rather see cultures from faaaar away. Imagine a caravan with camels and men in shemags talking to each other in an exotic and foreign language. That kind of thing is alway BADASS.
  10. @UP This is a great example of how armours can still be fantasy styled and realistic at the same time ! Beatifull piece of art right there ! This is how I imagined Sarevok :D
  11. It bothers me alot in roleplaying games that you see a bunch of npcs named for example citizen and one John. Well we know from the start that John has a quest for us or something. I would rather have a system were after a conversation mwhere the NPC introduce themselves ,the name appears above the npc. Also it is stupid that u walk to every npc and ask them if they need help. Quests should be done differently. 1. The NPC approaches you by himself 2. The NPC is in a situation which is visually presented 3. A information board, book, notice or a towncrier And many other possibilities which I cant recall right now. But yeah, it is a small Idea which can change our gameplay drastically in my opinion ( THe npcs will be more memorable ). What do you think ?
  12. Really ? In-game realtime clock ? Who caaaaaaaaaaaares... Shouldnt we discuss on this forum IMPORTANT THINGS and GOOD IDEAS. You can always look on you cellphone or as comedian earlier stated. And it isnt even funny such requests are stupid and are only important for a very few ppl.
  13. I was wondering... Was there ever a system in game where you could go to a blacksmith and instead of buying or crafting yourself you could just ask him to craft a weapon or armor which u want ? I would love to see this in P:E. Why is that ? Because I hate crafting I dont like it at all Im a warrior I dont have time to stand in the forge and make me some steel. I would gladly pay for this to someone whos job it is to make weapons. So what do you say ? Instead of selling hundred of weapons such a blacksmith could have some but the most should be made by ordering them right ?
  14. This is actually a pretty good Idea ! Imagine a monk who isnt asian stylished. He can still fight with his fists ( which is actually a pretty stupid idea in a world full of weapons and stuff ) wearing a tabard and some european stylished coats. This could be pretty awesome ! Obsidian you should definitely think this over !
  15. I dont like that a white man is a monk. He should be Asian and his name should Wei Yungshu and he should be bald with dragon and kenku tattoos all over his body. He can stay old and bald its ok but this hair just sucks.
  16. I dont like threads like this IMHO... It just makes the job for the devs more difficult. :"OH! Look a new thread I hope there will be some helpfull information about what our players want ... wait what ?" . It would be cool if someone would take all the most important ( not wishes like I WANT A PONY or some stupid anime weapons ) threads on the forum and put into one thread.
  17. Sheathing is a must have. I hate when I have to roam the streets of a big city with a weapon drawn. Unsheating and sheating should be automatic. In dangerous places the weapons should be always drawn or the characters should have their hands on the sheath in case they know they will or may have to draw it any minute.
  18. Mass Effect 2 was especially terrible in this regard, it was almost impossible to play neutral throughout the game if you wanted to maintain the loyalty both miranda/jack and tali/legion. Or, when I wanted to play a char who started out as a nice guy then slowly regressed to a renegade but still cared about his crew, it was possible but I had to powergame the dialogues completely. Thankfully they fixed it for ME3 where you didn't have to be Mr. Nice Guy or Badass to get the most out of the game. Oh, and I agree with the OP, I like those kinds of quests too, and also be able to speak with both men a second time to hear both versions of the story. Lets say I speak with the prisoner first, hear his version of the story, talk to the guard, hear his version of the story and they don't add up. So I go back to the prisoner and in this example he breaks up with a persuation and admits that he sugar coated his story, at which point I can either convince him to turn himself in or any of the other options. Exactly. But as I mentioned earlier I would loooove to see some dialogue options which clicking would cause actually the same. What I mean is for example "Sir, could you spare me a moment ?" -Get out of my way ( the bad one ) -Sorry I really am in hurry ( the good one ) - I do not have time for this ( the Neutral one ) This 3 options would cause the same thing : Ignoring the plea of the man. So why even add it ? Because in most games it feels so stupid to just say : I dont have time for this I dont want to sound rude or passive. I dont want to be my char someone who doesnt give a ****. So every choice should have a few dialogue options. So If you accept the task you have 3 lines to answer him and if you refuse you can do the same this would be awesome and it doesnt really need that much effort just a bit of imagination . atleast in my opinion.
  19. I hate the Idea of dragons being magical and intelligent. I always imagined dragons as being predators. I like the idea too to make the dragons behaviour similar to a magpie. This could be a great explanation why do they have such treasure in their caves. I would be glad to fight a dragon or a wyvern ! It would be awesome to be in a village do some quests and suddenly be attacked by a dragon ( not random it should be THE village which after staying awhile talking to ppl it would trigger a dragon which would burn most of the village down or atleast half ) Such a simple quest would be epic ! I would gladly hunt a dragon with some real dragon hunters with balistas and stuff ! THAT WOULD BE AWESOME !
  20. Were like the first or the second type ? Because I thought quests in BG had very few options and choices but somehow it didnt bother me alot. It bothers me more in the modern crpgs like DA:O or Mass effect where I cant play as someone I want to be. I have to play as someone they want me to be like in ME. Renegade or paragon or just the passive neutral guy. ITS BORING and some things are shown as evil but maybe in my opinion it was a neccesary evil so why punish me with a renegade point, it's just stupid. I want more options and choices. That would improve the gameplay alot.
  21. Very often I see in crpgs a bad thing. Mainly in the dialogues. For example : * Hey stranger ! Could you help me out here ? I'm in real trouble ! I'm an Exile and shouldn't be here at all ! And now this fancy looking guardsman from the city is looking for me. Someone told him I'm living here despite my punishment ! Please stranger I need your help. Force him to go away. ( now you have 2 or 3 dialogue options in which u actually have two options, either force the guardsman to go away or you are not interesred and the quest stays unfinished. The 3rd dialogue option is normally a question what we will get from him if we do the task ) 1. I will help you dont you worry 2. What's in it for me, huh? 3. I don't have time for this... I dont say this situation happens in all games but sadly it does happen in many. It is not an important quest for the main plot, it is actually a silly, easy not interesting quest. But why not making this more interesting ? You come to the village and either you discover a man hiding behind a cottage or you find yourself in the tavern talking to a fancy looking guardsman. This is one and the same quest which starts different based on your first move. You talk to the guardsman the Guardsman says he looks for a man who shouldnt be here and his breaking the law and if we have any information there's a price for his discovery. If you didnt talk to the Exile then the options should look like this 1. Sorry... didn't saw anyone matching your description 2. I'll try to find this man. If you talked to the Exile earlier the Dialogue should look like this 1. Sorry... didn't saw anyone matching your description(lie) 2. I'll try to find this man.(lie) 3. He's hiding behind the shack Now if you however meet the Exile first he asks for your help. Now what bothers me alot in modern crpgs is the lack of choice. I can either help him or not. In my opinion there should be more choices and decisions. Something like this * Hey stranger ! The 3rd dialogue option is normally a question what we will get from him if we do the task ) 1.I think I can try 2. Whats in it for me ? 3 Why dont you try... ( and now 2,3 or more options open to you. U need persuasion aswell ) -...talk to him ? Maybe he will let it go. Where your crimes really that big ? -...go somewhere else ? ( If he accepts one of these the task is done and you should become some XP but no reward it would make no sense ) 4. Give me all your money or I go tell the guardsman where your hiding at ( Intimidation ) 5. I dont have time for this 6. I really dont know how I could help, sorry ( this is for ppl who like to play the good guys but in this case they cant help him out or the dont want to. In most games there is only one refusal option which is normally mean and it bothers ppl who want to have believable characters ) If you want to help him there should be new options in the dialogue with the guardman 1. Sorry... didn't saw anyone matching your description(lie) 2. I'll try to find this man.(lie) 3. He's hiding behind the shack 4. Just let it go ( bribe ) 5. I saw him running north maybe to (village name ) ? ( lie ) 6. He doesnt look like a criminal to me. Maybe you should just let it go ? He wont do harm to no one here. ( Persuasion ) If the u fail in lying/bribing/persuading he should threaten you with arrest and either you have to tell him or kill him or accept the jail option or try to talk out of it. Some of the dialogues dont make a difference but they really improve the roleplaying feeling to my character. It would be cool if even the smallest quest had options that would show that my character is good even if he just refused to help. Sorry for my bad English I really tried to write a good thread here, so please no hate and Im waiting for your opinion on that Topic.
  22. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! Who normally sane would EVER post such a topic here ? WTF ?! And what is wrong with this stupid poll ? There are only 2 options which actually say one thing... 1.YES 2.NO but YES WTF ?! I play mmos alot but I would never be such an idiot to post it here were the dreams of thousands players is made.THE RETURN OF THE CLASSIC RPGS and u post such garbage right here under our noses ?! WE GOT TONS OF MMOS why would you that ? I hope someone of the MODS will shut this stupid topic down. THIS IS OFFENDING.
  23. I Always played the dnd rules difficulty so in most encounters I didn't had to pause at all I managed to control my whole party without any problems but in hard battles I had to use the spacebar to pause. So yeah I voted mix. I hope the same will be in PE
  24. I hate enchanted weapons. It's actually pretty dumb to run around with a flaming sword or a axe that if u throw it it always returns. I would go for realism here. http://www.glenbow.o...ry/firearms.cfm this site shows many early 16th century guns. I would take my ideas from here instead from the 17th century because the difference is tremendous
