We can discuss made up "maybe" scenarios if you like but my comments are based on what the lead developer has stated as fact: 1) There is no healing magic. 2) Healing can only be accomplished by resting. 3) There is no resurrection. Its all right there in the OP interview. If resting can be done anywhere at will than Im fine with that.

Sure, but its a case of diminishing returns. With a 4:1 ratio (stamina/health) youre going to quicky reach a point where your party members are limping along with full Stamina but only a few Health points. Meaning the next blow, even at full stamina, will kill you. So what do you do? Park that NPC outside the room so there is no possibility of dying, thus effectively removing them from the game? Let half your party get wiped by the next pack of Xvart's? No, you will have to stop progressing and walk the party back to the "safe spot" to heal up. Oh, and you better not let anyone die or its game over for that NPC what with there also being no way to resurrect. Guess Ill have to see how it plays but on face value it just sounds like a total pita.

Man this sounds terrible. Dying from couple blows when character's health is very low? No, having no way to replenish your health without schlepping back to some defined "rest spot". No magic, no potions, just some annoying mechanic designed to reinvent the wheel and cater to Internet Tough Guys ™. Doesnt it sound weird that magic can do everything but heal? Thats a mechanic being forced.

I dont get it. Its just a cat watching a cursor move. Is there something funny Im missing?

Because waiting for a cooldown timer is better than replenishing abilities at will? With a chance of getting kicked in the teeth by randomly spawning enemies? hell yes. also, better pacing. That will still happen when you rest to regain health. Nothing changes except now there will be two mechanics to replace what was formerly done with one.

IMO, social governments will only work long term in places where the population is very small and the few can be supported by the many. Hell, in the example above, South Africa has about the same amount of people living in poverty as the total population of Denmark. I dont think it could ever work on a macro level.

Secret Fighting Styles

I like the concept. Would definately have to be carried over to each class though.- 39 replies

Speaking of traffic fatalities, every day on my way to work I drive under an electronic highway sign that changes from travel times to various exits, to reminders not to text and drive, to a current total of traffic deaths on Illinois roadways. Thats right, we have semi-real time traffic fatality updates. Wtf... Were currently at 853 if anyone was wondering.

Who are you?

Ill probably roll a Cipher. Close enough to a mage to interest me yet (possibly) different enough to inject some new blood into the class. If that class doesnt grab me Ill fall back to my trusty Paladin, so I can use the PE version of the Holy Avenger and smite some evil.- 30 replies

Sorry, did not know that, the only IE game a played till the end was Icewind Dale 1, got halfway trough with BG 2 a long time ago, but my HDD decided to move to a better place (if you can call a junkyard that xd), reinstall, blue death, reinstall, run into a bug on the very first map (maybe couse vista?)... it's like someone cursed me so I could never finish the game xD That's why I started playing BG1 enhanced edition, this time i want to actually play it till the end from the very beginning xD I played Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2 a lot though. Sorry for offtopic. You could also turn Sarevok in ToB through a series of 4-5 conversations.

Baldur's Gate II had this. If your reputation got too high (good) the evil party members would progressively bicker more and more until the left the party / attacked you outright. Vice versa for low reputation (evil).

It's not out on tablets yet, is it? I think it got refuted by the app store and needs to resubmit (after bugfixing). Ah, you are correct. I just checked the app store from my phone and its not there.

Anyone playing it on a tablet yet? Thoughts?
