  1. Meh, maggots are pure protein. I kid, I probably would have vomited into the can. Speaking of unholy vomit, something got into my poor dog yesterday. I get home from work to see her suspiciously hiding behind the dining room table. This is a dead give away that she has a guilty conscience over something she did. Then I notice a huge puddle of vomit in the middle of the kitchen. Then I see more in the living room. Then more on the middle landing of the stairs where she like to lay. Then more at the top. Then more in my bedroom. And finally finishing up in the master bathroom. I felt so bad for her I couldn't even get mad about picking it all up.
  2. You mean just like Baldur's Gate? Where every character had additional slot for alternative weapon and fighters had four of them? Dunno. I think I vaguely remember crushing weapons being better against skeletons but I may be making that up in my head. Are you saying the BG series also played rock/paper/scissors wrt certain weapon types being optimized against certain armor types?
  3. Welcome syn2083!
  4. Hehe, it was just an example. Don't shank me bro!
  5. I believe he is referring to the fact that PE combat is going to be a series of rock/paper/scissors. All party members will have two or more "weapon sets" that will allow each character to rapidly change their weapons. This is being implemented because they are also adding "flavor" by each type of weapon (crushing, piercing, slashing) being "best" against certain types of armor. (IE: War hammers (crushing) are better than a dagger (piercing) against plate armor.) So your characters will be constantly be switching weapon sets, even within the same battle.
  6. I almost always play "good" and do the right thing although I played SWTOR as an evil bastage that took the dark side choice every time. In case you aren't aware, there is no alignment system in PE, only "reputations".
  7. Tis a shame. I guess we'll never know the joy of repairing 2-3 weapon sets x 6 people, per rest. YOU DAMN DIRTY APES!
  8. Ill be playing on whichever difficulty allows unlimited resting and saving.

  10. Like everything, it depends on which side of the fence you stand. Some of the same people that were high-fiving the removal of boobplate are now rending their clothes and gnashing their teeth while Western civilization crumbles over durability.
  11. Lol, I noticed that too. I was idly wondering if it was one of those TV studio issues and Miami Vice is just now showing in Austria. Then I figured that only happens in movies.
  12. There's an extended version of the book? I cant imagine what was left out of the original, lol. Would you mind spoiling me?
  13. Man of Steel
  14. Good list. Aces High would have made my Iron Maiden list.
  15. Well here's hoping for a soft landing for you.
  16. Yeah, whats up Mal? New career? House? Girlfriend?
  17. My understanding of the complaints Ive read are not that you can craft a Common Barrel Sword but that the crafted weapon will eventually outpace found weapons, enchantment wise, and obviate found equipment. For me, durability is just another schlep back to the shop. Nothing actually breaks until reaching zero so maybe it wont be so bad. Consumables are probably where most of my money will go. Hook a brother up with a Health potion recipe and Ill stay broke just on that one consumable.
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-yBc8txHaA Hehe, we have them too. Here's a traffic cop busting a move.
  19. No, you also have to travel somewhere every ~5-7 fights to fix stuff. I sure hope my stronghold is nice, I have a feeling Im going to be spending a lot of time there resting and repairing.
  20. As described in post #1, repairs cannot be performed "in the field", only at Forges or Vendors. Also, inventory has no weight so you should be able to carry every conceivable material required to repair, make potions and cook food/drinks.
  21. Don't forget, repairs can only be performed at Forges or Vendors, so you will have lots of exciting travel every 106 weapon swings or hits taken.
  22. I would counter this by saying; lets assume gear uses a 100% scale. Assuming players stay on the critical path they will encounter mooks that are within +/- 1-2 levels, which means they will land 95% of their attacks. If every attack/defense degrades armor/weapons by 1 point then I feel "repairs" will become quite the frequent and expensive endeavor. Especially as player progress to more expensive gear.
  23. Sorry, I don't follow. Your original point was that resting is similar to cooldowns, which I agree with, and then asks what benefits are there to resting, which I provided an example of. Please clarify. I don't know how frequently other people rested in their games but in mine I used that setting that was something like "rest until fully healed" so there were times when multiple "days" went by.
