  1. Because in the event of no witnesses, if someone kills someone and can convince others that it was indeed an act of self-defense, SYG applies. And of course the evidence has to support them.
  2. That may be a little tougher to pull off. In that example, I could easily see both spells resulting in say 6D6 fire damage, but having a different visual spell effect. I kind of share the same concern over Ciphers. How do you uniquely represent their capabilities? Lets say there is a spell called Mind Spike. Is it just going to be a renamed Hold Person? I don't envy the developers trying to come up with unique capabilities.
  3. WoW Down to 7.7 Million Subscribers, Activision Blizzard Purchases Vivendi's Shares.
  4. This post contains a post from Sawyer that states "Currently, spells are entirely unique to each class." Its unlinked so I don't know where it originated or if its true.
  5. Awesome. Thanks.
  6. Spoil me:
  7. Im curious, why do you want to be able to enter turn based mode outside of combat?
  8. We mods do not perform QA or better gun balance.
  9. What are mafia girls? Daughters of mobsters?
  10. Looks like we all pocketed that cred chip.
  11. Rolled an Elf mage pistoleer. Only around an hour in (just left the coroner) but Im having fun. The save system is a detriment to me as it makes me hesitant to play the game unless I have an entire block of time free.
  12. Aye. I wish I had someone to take care of me. My wife makes good coin but every time I ask her if I can stay home and be a kept man she laughs at me and tells me to get to work.
  13. How frequent are the checkpoints?
  14. Happy Birthday!!!!
  15. There hasn't been a spell list or anything like that released but we do know a few tidbits about the system: 1) There are per encounter and per day cool downs, depending on the spell power (?). As you gain level what was once per day may eventually become per encounter. 2) Spells must be queued (memorized) by being placed in a grimoire (for wizards). Not sure how that will work for clerics, ciphers and chanters. 3) I thought I remembered more but I guess not.
  16. IIRC, there's something about not being able to loot bodies either.
  17. Agreed, I hope they nail it. They are probably only going to get one bite at this apple and if its poorly received because of too much "vision" and not enough fun...
  18. What does "8-6 reps" mean? I get the weight and I get the sets but I cant puzzle out the reps.
  19. I never said it was wrong for them to have money but its different because their sources of income were not optional to the payer as they are when a person purchases a product or service.
  20. Youre the one that brought up ethics. My whole point is that the monarchy is a product of the people and at the end of the day the "people" should own the public holdings that they themselves provided to the monarchy.
  21. You agree that name dropping positively influenced the sales but feel its peoples fault for getting sucked in by that practice? The onus is on the company selling the product to be clear to the buyers and, imo, that was not the case here and they absolutely knew what invoking those game titles would mean to people. Nobody expected a clone (they don't have the D&D license) but I think people expected a close approximation (like they are doing with several mechanics already).
  22. Its a good thing you did, I would have just besmirched that lofty title with some hooker scandal.
  23. We'll never know but I don't think they would have sniffed anywhere near 4 million without name dropping the IE games. Similar for inExile and the Torment branding.
  24. IMO, it does matter. Until recently, the monarchy is the law of the land. You could literally have been killed for not paying your taxes. Business's are private enterprises that are forced to work under the laws of the land and earn money by providing . True dat.
