  1. That giant zombie thing they get is OP. Speaking of which, I recently got an epic gem that adds something like 2100% weapon damage in the form of poison (Ive upgrade it to ~2650%). Combined with my Bolas (AoE damage) Im just laying waste to everything. Granted, Im only playing Torment II, but its still pretty cool to watch entire rooms get poisoned from one shot.
  2. Do plants highlight if you are using the Search ability? Never tried myself.
  3. I think its less about elegance or enjoyability and more about establishing "opportunity cost". Also, some people got red faced by prebuffing.
  4. I think Ive seen others mention that that is a bug. FYI, the amount of Camping Supplies that you can carry is directly tied to your game difficulty. Easy = more supplies, hard = less. Ive been playing on Easy for that very reason and so far its been just "ok", imo. I find myself not using any per rest abilities because I have to "save up" for when I REALLY need them. If you are getting beat up repeatedly, one method I found to mitigate that is to equip your Rogue, Wiz or Priest with a range weapon, then shoot a mook, then run behind your Fighter, Bard, Pally. For some reason I had it in my head that this was a "feature complete" beta but Sawyer has stated that no AI has been implemented beside the dogpile script so the above method probably wont work in the full game.
  5. Urm... Ouch.... I guess that means I need to adjust my playstyle... Do anyone know why? Even Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 had healing, so I see no reason why not PoE should have it.. I believe the original intent was to remove "rest spam". The first version of resting was restricted to specific camp spots dotting the landscape but was later revised to allow resting anywhere (outside of combat and close by mooks) but uses a "Camping Supply" in the process (which are stupendously expensive in relation to everything else the innkeeper sells). Huh, I didn't know that. Very cool. Now I have to try it out on my Pally run, whats it called in game?
  6. Oh Niccolado, youre in for some harsh surprises. (Psst, theres no healing of Health or ressurrection. Because sleeping 8 hours will cure literally everything.) Man, when the general public gets ahold of this game all hell is going to break loose.

  8. For me, no. PoE feels like a kitchen sink of ideas thrown together without regard for "feel". MUST CRUSH DEGERATIVE GAMEPLAY, RARG! All my fun are belong to Obsidian.

  10. Just checked and my bad, cant change the individual save file names. I was thinking what the post above describes.
  11. I believe its been stated that used spell levels carry over even if you switch grimoires. Meaning, if you blew all your level three spells and switched to another grimoire, its 3rd level spells would be on the same cooldowns. I think. Havent actually tried in myself though.

  13. Are you talking about Pillars of Eternity? There is some text on the save that says "new game save" and that's where I would expect to enter my save game name. But when I click on it it just saves my game. You have a method for this, please do share it. Ill take a look in a few hours when I get home from work, and perhaps it changed in V2 (haven't tried V2 yet), but I remember it being pretty standard. Choose save, click in the save name field, type whatever you like. Oh, are you referring to Quicksave (F5)?
  14. Im sure Im misunderstanding but Ive been able to name my saves. For example I name each one for whatever "main" Im trying. Have one named "Paladin", one named "Wizard", etc... Are you referring to a character limit or something like that?

  18. I just use a ranged weapon to kite everyone into the tanks. Works like a champ.

  21. I see. Well, your losing me with this bogeyman routine and why you keep referencing kill XP in this conversation is a mystery. Im not arguing slippery slope, Im not arguing semantics, and I don't have any idea how you came up with someone slipping something past me. Hell, if its not on this board then Im not even paying attention. Im simply pointing out that there is a literal difference between awarding XP incrementally or in one lump sum at the end. Objective XP and Quest XP are two different terms for a reason no matter how you try to obfuscate it. Well, unless your retort is "Crossing the threshold of the ogre cave was a quest".
  22. Correction, that poll if for Objective XP, not Quest XP. Subtle but important difference. is not a meaningful difference. the current system is, for all intents and purposes, an objective xp mechanic. quibbles over nomenclature is silly, particularly when developers specific said that there would be no particular xp for "body count." in current build, folks got xp for simply entering the ogre cave. therefore, as can be seen, xp is not simple awarded for completion o' quest in even the current PoE builds. nevertheless, quibble over nomenclature is creating an issue that did not exist when the previous poll were formulated and is not meaningful now either. HA! Good Fun! edit: previous poll, not previous problem. Im not quibbling over nomenclature. In my borked game, I never received a single point of XP for any action. Other posters say they got XP for entering the ogre cave. So if that's how the system is going to work, incremental XP rewards doled out along the way vice one lump sum at the end of the "quest", then most people will be happy. Objective XP and Quest XP are completely different imo.
  23. I disagree. Nobody can judge a game that doesn't exist so KS is a great way to finance a game on zero facts. Once a game has been released and graded, all bets are off with purchases as people can read the reviews and choose not to buy.
