  1. Whos Matt, one of the devs?
  2. I am interested in the story, the Endless Paths and especially the Stronghold. Hopefully I make it long enough to experience them. Perhaps autoattack will be a viable strategy?
  3. RIP Richard Kiel.
  4. This post will probably get me run out of town, but for me, combat is a bit tedious due to TMI (too much information). Im particularly turned off by rock/paper/scissors type situations. For example, Sawyer recently pointed out that one Magic Missile type spell attack Will while another attacks Fort (or whatever), or another example being Sensuki's illustration of attacking a beetle with a slashing weapon and only doing 1 HP damage. So in my mind I envision having to hover the cursor over every enemy (or consult the Beastiary), and then switch weapons / spell back and forth or risk doing little to no damage. Im not saying this system is wrong, the problem lies with me, but when Im confronted with too much minutiae then I start to lose interest. I had the same problem with D&D 3.5. Its me, not PoE.
  5. Congrats Sarex!
  6. Did you turn it over to the hammer side?
  7. Is that really one of the inn names? That's glorious.
  8. I think that's because spells don't scale in PoE. So, you wind up with a bunch of versions of the same spell, just slightly more powerful then the last.
  9. Didn't D:OS go turn based at the 11th hour? I certainly hope combat becomes less muddled but if not, I personally would not mind a switch to TB.
  10. Werent guns supposed to be more powerful than bows? I thought that's what justified the long reload.
  11. Did you relocate Sarex or just a US company?
  12. Good thing in P:E there's no reason you'd want to do that, unless you thought they carried really good loot of course. Except if it has same issue as IE games that combat don't end before all fleeing enemies are dead, which is only reason why I hunted fleeing gibberlings or xvarts down. Or if that fleeing enemy is part of the quest. Also, +1 for Camping Supply talent.
  13. Iirc, Raithe explained to me that their want for independence is "coincidentally" tied to their discovery of natural gas fields off their coasts.
  14. Whos harassing her? The SJW's?
  15. Maybe you've come to terms with it what with having ~1 year to prepare. Condolences anyway.
  16. I had to use the sparkle path occasionally because I kept getting lost in the mountains. I wear ribbons of shame.
  17. Just checked and without the Quest Giver, you get a whopping 0 xp. I went straight to Dyrford Crossing, battled my way through and entered the cave. 0 xp Then I went to the Ogre and killed him as there was no dialogue options concerning the Quest. 0 xp I did however take the Ogre's head and blood. But nothing to indicate what this was all about. So all in all. You get nothing from doing this unless you find the Quest Giver. However, I decided to hand in the quest (knowing it was the farmer) and there was a dialogue to finish the quest. I did receive xp but no xp amounts showed up in the combat log to confirm how much I received. Now if anything is like this in the final game, you may me going past 'xp check points' like the Ogre Cave and not knowing there is an 'xp check point' there because you didn't click on the quest giver. Without the quest givers, this has some problems. Two come to mind: 1. You will have Quest items not knowing what these quest items are stacking up in your Quest stash. You then have to click on villagers to find out who this quest item belongs to. You may be in the wrong town or map if there are city maps involved. 2. You are missing out on xp along your route and this may have problems with levelling up. You may be just off levelling up and going past an xp check point and not knowing about it, while another player will know about the xp check points and level up accordingly. Oy! You make it sound much worse than I was anticipating. More and more I realize that the strategy guide was the best $7 I spent in this endeavor. Maybe they will need to implement exclamation points over quest giver heads so people don't miss out on content. :runs:
  18. Meh, but good to know. If that's working as intended then Ill have to remember to hoover up ever single quest while in the various hubs before venturing out.
  19. Has anyone experimented to see what happens if you go to the cave before you talk to the farmer?
  20. The whole "second bite of the apple" really aggravates me too. Goodell dropped the ball on the initial punishment and was roundly derided, so now he sees another opportunity and goes way overboard. I agree that two games was too little punishment but hes got to live with those decisions. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Rice sue the league.
  21. I find the public and NFL reaction to this video to be disingenuous. How did they think she got knocked out when the first video aired? By tender kisses on her cheek? But now seeing the blow land makes everyone freak out?
  22. This Mortar-Hunting War Truck Just Got a Powerful New Laser Cannon.
  23. With the new beta removing a lot of bugs, has it been proven that there isn't any objective XP? For example, PrimeJunta observed 1500XP for entering the Ogre cave. Is that not the case? Is that only the case because he was on the farmer quest (what happens if you go to the cave before getting the quest?) With the term "objective XP", Im referring to incremental XP rewards doled out over the course of gaming instead of only getting XP when you turn in the quest.
