  1. I bought myself an Instant Pot 9-in-1 air fryer to replace my oil fryer and toaster, and 7 other things apparently. So far Ive only cooked wings and fries but both turned out great, especially the wings. I was pretty impressed with the fact that I could throw in frozen flats and drums and pull out perfectly cooked and with crispy skin. Somehow 4lb were consumed by three people in one sitting.

  4. The loss of knowledge is interesting to me. Sure, the understanding of a one of one device like the Mechanism could be lost to the sands of time, but presumably the recipe for Roman concrete would have been common knowledge to thousands of workers who would just mix and pour it on site over the centuries? Nobody wrote it down anywhere?
  5. The I-Land E1 Goddamn that was bad, and thats coming from a guy thats pretty easy to entertain.

  11. Blue Beetle Poor mans Iron Man. Leave the World Behind It was meh, I guess. For me it fails by leaving too much ambiguity.

  13. Maybe its a European thing? Past bogeymen never die? I dont know a single soul that was alive during WW2 and Im old as hell. Yeah, it sounds like the Cambodians are still all jacked up. 25% population loss due to murders, even more fleeing to Thailand or Vietnam. Tough to recover from that. I mean, not for me, because I dont live there, but tough nonetheless.
  14. Its interesting to me that people get upset about things that happen in foreign lands and/or before their birth. But now that I think about it, I still cant get right about that rat bastard Attila the Hun so I dont have room to talk.
  15. Iirc, the only movie King ever directed was Maximum Overdrive.

  18. Im a bit confused. If a country cant accept unlimited immigration, and also cant consolidate the immigrants into concentration camps while they figure out what to do with them, then what is the solution?
  19. The Netherlands allocates 42% of there GDP on social benefits and scored in the top 10 in Healthcare, Education and Judiciary (gov-at-a-glance-2021-netherlands.pdf (oecd.org)). So surely they can absorb unlimited immigration?
  20. Promo sentence: NASA’s planned missions are one step closer to being fueled thanks to the Department of Energy’s shipment milestone of Plutonium-238.
