  1. Its probably just me, but it seems counterintuitive to conduct an interview in front of a graveyard full of your troops that stretches as far as the eye can see.
  2. Green light go: SpaceX receives a launch license from the FAA for Starship | Ars Technica
  3. Huh, I dont have a single cent of physical money on me, havent in years. Aside, imo, physical money can become worthless as fast as digital.
  4. The forecast has gotten worse in the five hours since your post and they updated the article: "The "very destructive core" of the storm will bring "extreme" wind gusts of up to 315km/h (195mph) in parts of the Kimberley and Pilbara regions, the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) said." 195mph is nutso!
  5. Europe is about to launch one of its most ambitious missions ever | Ars Technica 8 year journey!
  6. @Azdeus You should buy little tiny bars of gold and silver. The way I figure it, Im not really spending money, Im simply moving money around. And as a bonus, the fatcats cant get it!
  7. Very cool! Are you in any of those pictures?
  8. I dont think he posts here any more (hasnt even visited the boards since 2020), but you may be able to reach him here: Frog Helms Fan Club on Tumblr
  9. Thats a good point. I was bummed when Prince died. Tom Petty too.
  10. Agreed, all crimes should be prosecuted. Except for the miserable who went to prison for a long time for stealing a loaf of bread. That right there is messed up. Late edit: Chicago is about to put some reader into the fetal position!: Homicides in Chicago: A list of every victim | Chicago Sun-Times (suntimes.com) Sincere question, is everyone all ate up over these murders too?
  11. We hosted the annual Easter dinner at our house this year (groan) and it turned out great. I always go last at the food line and by the time I got my plate there was only one tablespoon of mashed potatos left! I must have peeled over 20 potatos! Bastages.
  12. c. People like to get butthurt over randos dying. In the time it took you to read this sentence, around 9 people went belly up: World Death Clock (medindia.net) I hope this doesnt ruin peoples day.
  13. Paizo's First Draft of Its Open RPG License is Done and Public (gizmodo.com)
  14. Whoa, thats high praise to me. I checked out the trailer and it looks fun. Ill try to convince my wife to watch it with me. If you havent already seen it, Ali Wong has a pretty funny stand up on Netflix too Ali Wong: Don Wong.
  15. Thats not a leak, thats a heroic whistleblower. This person should receive a commendation.
  16. "The boat, with 222 rooms, has been refurbished since it was criticised as an "oppressive environment" when the Dutch government used it for asylum seekers. Bibby Marine, which owns the barge and will lease it to the government, said there was a laundry and a canteen on board - and all the rooms have a window, bed, desk, storage and en-suite." Sounds pretty nice to me. We should float a whole bunch of them of the coast of San Francisco and Portland to help out the homeless.
  17. Ocean Cleanup removes 200,000th kilogram plastic the Pacific Ocean (interestingengineering.com)
  18. A floating concentration camp? Innovative!
  19. Project VENOM will see F-16s converted into highly capable drones (interestingengineering.com)
  20. The near future is going to be very interesting as drones become smaller and more swarm coordinated. I love the Trophy system (Trophy (countermeasure) - Wikipedia) for conventional AT weapons, but something like the Stryker Leonidas (Stryker Leonidas – General Dynamics Land Systems (gdls.com)) will need to be incorporated into armored brigades to handle the drones. Imo, lasers arent the answer. Maybe for ballistic/supersonic/cruise missiles, but not for drone swarms.
