But when you have a game script made out with specific key events in the story, you need to get those events to happen and that'll only happen if you force the story one way or the other. As long as there is a core story to follow, any freedom in the game will be a compromise. The leviathan thing is pretty textbook and it worked for most of us. Games are going to get pirated no matter how much time, money or effort you spend on countermeasures. Companies would probably save more money on not using these systems. And I fail to see the good of having areas of your website only accessible to owners of the game.

From what Ive heard, K2 is pretty much a wrap in terms of story and game mechanics("only" bugfixing and tech is left). So isnt too late to implement any of the ideas the people here come up with?

Option A is preferable because devs are usually careful to use the quote function and because of that, its easy to understand what they're responding to. option B is no good in a thread thats over 2 pages

The EU is not canon, its a chaos under the principle of "Too many chefs spoil the soup". And KoTOR isnt cannon either, so it matters even less if it contradicts any part of that chaos. If I was developing a SW game I would do exactly what Bioware did, incorporate the parts that I deemed fitting and ignore/alter the rest.

What I was referring to was more "do you mind if the devs take certain freedoms with continuity?" like in above example. If one was to take all the possibilities into account, none of the key chars would be allowed in K2.

This question came to mind after one of those pointless arguments about which KoTOR NPCs should and shouldnt get a cameo, becasue they could be killed etc. In my opinion, continuity is unimportant and even impossible to accomplish in a convincing way if there's more than one way to finish a game.

one more thing that speaks against the logic of "he was away for a long time and didnt use the force so he forgot all about it" is that both Kenobi and Yoda spent decades in exile on strange backwater planets and still retained all their mojo. shure, I guess they could have do some force-pushups from time to time to keep in shape but its implied that they did ..nothing.

That is good to know, Bioware did a terrible job with KoTORs graphic compatibility.
