From fig campaign info we know that sidekicks will: a) Have a unique quest you'll need to complete in order for them to follow you. b) They'll have dialogues, personal preferences and will interject in conversations just as other companions. c) They won't be part of the relationship system. d) Their story won't be linked in the main plot. e) They'll be something like Minsk in Baldur's Gate 2. f) They won't be tsundere, yundere, fungere, marungere or whatever other -ere

Well, you're not obliged by anyone/anything to give an accurate release date; you're not the publisher So, guess freely! we will guess freely. is the reason we will wait 'til beta and we discover just how much work needs be done to get the game into some semblance o' a releasable state. our free guess for poe release were within a few days o' actual release, but we similar would not have attempted to make a guess for poe without seeing how far along were the obsidians. HA! Good Fun! Fair enough you, however many you are (However many? Does this make sense?)

Fixing the monk.
Sedrefilos replied to kensu's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
My brother finished the game as monk. He never complained about anything; he enjoyed it much. The mnk companion was also good in WM. I don't remember having any problem with him. The only problem I have with monks is that I find martial arts boring in games. Unless of course we're talking about a fighting or beat 'em up game. -
As always, I'd like close-ups of the 3D models instead of paintings but having, at least, the watercolor pictures of the characters in conversation is better that just a background still and a colored name.

There is almost nothing I don't like about the setting or the lore. At this point, it is the best fantasy setting I get to adventure into. Not too highly fantastical not too low either. Not too grim (grim for grimness' sake like most grim settings) not too yoohoohoo fairies and magic everywhere either. Not too generic european middle age-y, not over-the-top steam/magic technology either. Not too exaggerated history, not boring either. No real gods, no totally fake either. Sheeeeeeeeeit! It strikes the perfect balance.

Interesting that you say that. I enjoyed TWM story more than the original too, but I'm having trouble working out why. Better pacing? A lighter touch? It certainly wasn't because I like dungeon crawling. I don't rate Durlag's Tower very highly, and the Endless Paths was tedium incarnate. The pacing was better and the questing more consistent. There was no text wall screens to advance the plot - everything was done with scripted interactions. Scripted interactions were more advanced (you could cast spells/use abilities!) which made dungeon crawling far more interesting also. It had more interesting loot and a great story (as good as the base game imo) that was advancing with better pacing (pacing again). Combat encounters were designed better too.

The blue companion

He's treated less than a sidekick from the devs so far I forgot he was in untill I saw this thread :D
