A game in full 3D would have solved this problem though Like NWN 2

I think it'll be like Torment. Everything moves around you but you cannot zoom in/out. You're stuck to the zoom level we were when initiated the dialogue. It makes sense though; you're using mousewheel to scroll text up and down at that moment. And the dialogue interface takes half the screen (although I think they said that it'll be transparent-like in illars 2, so we can see more of the environment while talking).

Mages.
Sedrefilos replied to commissar7's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Why shouldn't spellcasting classes have a variety of different spells instead of just specializing in a set of spells? It was that way in the IE games. I like summons, but I don't like the theme of chanters. I like druids and their transformations, but I also like the fact that mages could transform into monsters that are less "druidy." There is nothing wrong with having more options for ALL spellcasting classes. It would be cool but not every fantasy rpg should follow DnD mentality. Pillars has its own lore that restricts/defines classes. I could argue why not having fighters with pullchain abilities or flying up in the air smashing 20 meters away aoeing everything or just casting spells. That'll be cool. Come on each game/universe is its own. -
Mages.
Sedrefilos replied to commissar7's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Pillars has many spellcasting classes that cast cool spelss. Like druids (polymorf self - for those "complaining") or ciphers or chanters (summon stuff). Why should wizards have everything? -
I'd like something completely new. When dialogue initiates, each time a charater talks, the camera peeks through or zooms in random spots. From the nostrill looking out, hidden in the hair, a zoom in the eye maybe under the armpit. Neat. The background will be shown in 2D of course. Totally flat.

Mages.

That's because there are no mages in the game. Only wizards! Kidding. No detailed info about any class whatsoever yet. Most probably we'll learn soon when the bi-week updates start. -
Zooming is good. If no zooming, portraits of those who speak at the moment (I think it's in with the waterpaint portraits though).

NPC reactions.

Well, if it fits the character why not? I mean, not just because one is anoble should be pompus and just because one is a beggar should be pathetic, right? -
I never understand why powergamers play rpgs. There are other games that do this well. Diablo-likes for instance. Anyhow, I really liked health/endurance system and the injury system. I have to have an excuse to rest (except re-charge spells - oh, I hated that one!) since the game uses rest mechanic.

I strongly believe Pillars' character creation system s the best and most fun in any crpg thus far. I found myself starting over just to make a character I had in mind and just play with him or her for a while. Today I was in a mood to make a fantasy all star party so I rolled a character and played till reached Black Hound inn to make the rest of the party. Then I wanted to make the party I play with some friend on a tabletop game etc. You get the idea. I was thinking: What if the character creator existed also as a standalone feature at the game's main menu. You can go there and make any level 1 character as save them. Then, when you start a game, or you want to recruit a hireling, you can pick any of those pre-made ones. Maybe you can also export characters and send them to friends etc. I'd fancy this feature

Ah well those katanas weren't true katanas made by a true master smith over a period of twenty-five years and quenched in the tears of virgins. If they had been using those then the war would have gone very differently. (hopefully it's clear I am not being serious). Yeah I know you're not serious. But I see this katana VS longsword "argument" that is so popular in youtube lately ghosting your comments

Maybe a bayonette "enchantment" for arquebuses for going into melee when swarmed without swaping weapons or something. Although not oriental at all But what can you do? European 16th century weapons were the best in the world. Europeans invested hard in how to kill people better Also, atlatls and javelin throwers I think they are a bit outdated
