  1. If everyone has to play with slow motion on shouldn't the speed be decreased in a future release? Seems like the enemies are shot out of cannon at you.
  2. I'd rather just have BG2 style crafting where it's only for the epic/legendary type of items. The Equalizer, Flail of Ages, etc. Oh well more inventory fodder to sift through I guess.
  3. You can't change them simply by switching around portrait file names. Is it a tough work around? PEs portraits are pretty bad so I'll probably be changing the companions once I decide on a "final" party.
  4. Someone brought up crafting in this thread so I'm going to ask this here: Does crafting so far feel like NWN2 crafting? (couldn't stand that system)
  5. I'd like to see merchants refresh their gold at certain intervals or just remove that limitation altogether. This wasn't supposed to be a simulation so I don't really care if the merchant "wouldn't really" be able to buy all my extra gear. It's a game FFS and I'd like to sell my stuff even if it isn't what "really" happens or would really happen.
  6. I was never a fan of the way the stats were described and the banter here has me greatly worried... Might encompassing physical/magical "power" was always a "what?" for me anyway. Another user said this in a previous post but there is a reason those are usually defined by separate stats. I also don't like how no attributes really help your defense(ability to AVOID getting hit).
  7. Wow that is pretty disheartening I hated what 4E did with wizards and I hope this isn't what PE did to them... You are saying his spells are too weak to be worth using or the selection he comes with stinks? Call me crazy but a wizard + rifle shouldn't be doing more than his spells lol...
  8. I don't really like the way defense sounds in this and am not a fan of always getting hit no matter what. In IWD2 I just switched to 2h weapons because even with magical shields my Fighter(s) were always getting hit anyway. Scares me to think this is going to devolve into the whole "tag, tag, tag, tag, tag, tag". Like...what's defense for anyway? Add in the whole Stamina/Health "issue" atm.....
  9. If stealth isn't on an individual basis that is pretty ridiculous IMO. That's something that needs to be changed ASAP.
  10. I swear I'm not stalking you but I agree with this as well...seems we have similar tastes when it comes to the old games. May as well give us the option to have the circles mimic the old games and really any thing else should be secondary to that....
  11. Just from watching the demos and streams you can tell the characters do move too fast and something about the pace was off. Before the beta came out there was a thread about the health ratios and the possibility of adding real healing...one of these seems like it needs to happen because from watching people Sensuki is correct the adventure day is way too short. I imagine it's extra frustrating to have long recovery times + the bug where the character is idling. So you may not be able to tell if he's just waiting to attack again or is actually doing nothing(depending on the settings you use).
  12. Just looking at screenshots and videos I can definitely see a big issue with contrast and trying to figure out exactly what is going on in the environment. In some locations that grass is either way too high or something else should be in place so that you can visually see what's going on.
  13. I don't have the beta but I hope there is a way to change the NPC's portraits as well...so far I am pretty unimpressed with the PE portraits...seems a big step back from any of the IE games.

  16. the nwn2 system is sounding familiar to josh's teases 'bout enchanting weapons/armour. recipes called for a combination of essences and a gem. essences were, for all intents and purposes, critter parts. sadly for indira, the gems required for nwn2 crafting were not the kinda l007 that filled up gem bags. anything you would bother to craft were requiring the most valuable gems. the plant/herb stuff is new, and am not sure we see it as a good idea either. any kinda scavenger-hunt gameplay always feels like bloat to Gromnir. kill a dragon or jabberwocky to get scales is going to be involving combat. whether you like it or not, combat is gameplay. mindless uncover far corners of maps in search of special babba yagga witch hazel? *groan* am hoping there is more to the plant/herbs collection than... collection. HA! Good Fun! The NWN2 crafting system was pretty well broken IMO. Near the end of the game my Dwarven Defender had like 30 resist all , 8-DR, 8 regen, immunity to literally every effect, and so forth and so on. (there was immunity to crit stuff too...crazy) Not to mention +5 keen mithril axes of win the game.
  17. I prefer the old way but it won't ruin it for me either way. I know this will not be the case for the more graphical elitists and I've said in another thread that Obsidian left the criticism door wide open with the decision to put those low res models on display like that. This could be a 9+ rated game but the "lawl graphix sux" crowd knocks it to 8 or so because of character creation models/level up screen. It's stupid but it's happened before.

  20. I agree with your observation and also made a similar post in another thread about healing. Perhaps they could do a daily power for Fighters like healing surges in 4E... Soul Surge - heals some hps But yea even when doing what he's supposed to be doing (soaking damage) he was only able to soak like two fights and the map wasn't nearly explored.
  21. I personally would rather have the enemies come after you as well. Like others have said a few enemies may not do that but the more intelligent or those who value self preservation should attack you or set up defensively.
  22. I don't think I ever understood what the blue(and red) dots above the characters represent. I know there is a bar that counts down till your next attack but what are the blue/red dots?
  23. By minimap do you mean like Dragon Age? or do you mean that by pressing "m" an area map will show up?
  24. From what I understand...characters should stand back up as long as no enemies are withing x many yards(or LoS). So as long as you aren't in "danger" characters will come back and then you can rest.
