  1. Parties, certain fights depending on pacing, cut-scenes with more up-beat story bits. PE should be a fully fleshed living world with just as many up-beat bits as doom and gloom bits. Walk into a tavern and the atmosphere should reflect it. So where do we fit in the Country, Hard Rock, Alt Rock, Techno, Screamo, Death Metal, Metal, Power Metal, etc? There's a certain expectation with the type of music that will be included in a game of this type, it may be, "safe", but that doesn't mean it can't be good. Very few people find the traditional music usually included in these games, "offensive, just noise, migraine inducing, etc". It should stay that way. Again, if you want specific music you can always play yours in the background and mute the in-game music, or there will potentially be mods.
  2. Shush....nobody is a more pro musician than that woman. You're the one thinking of redtube here, not me. I am merely thinking of what's best for PE. Assuming you aren't trolling, I actually like some of her music and yet I still know having Violin Dubstep in PE would be ****ing stupid. Almost as bad as having screamo or death metal. If you want to listen to her so much, turn down the music and then run a secondary program in the background with the music you want. No I'm not trolling. I also don't think it's stupid for the game.....not everywhere all the time mind you but there are certain to be bits where it fits quite nicely. Can you give me a good example of where Violin Dubstep would be placed within the game...

  4. I personally dislike the idea of having an inventory full of Grimoires. I like the idea of Grimoires being a magical item that you essentially sink power into from your souls and as such it gives you a stable conduit to more safely and reliably utilize spells and as you have to devote such power to it that explains why it would take restrictively long to swap between them, I'd honestly prefer it almost being impossible in combat and more take a ritual type situation that can only happen when you rest. That wouldn't fully solve the issue of carrying around several Griomoires, but if you could change the spells within on rest anyway that could lead to other Griomoires you find just being used as a means to learn new spells (If finding one incarnation of a spell and learning it was overpowered maybe you'd need to find several Grimoires with the same spell before you could learn it, such as needing 3 Griomoires with Fireball before you could inscribe Fireball onto any Griomoire you find, or potentially even use it from the Griomoire you found it in) and then as sellable loot or potentially a quest item you turn into some kind of magic school or something.
  5. I definitely dislike the concept of people who aren't around during your adventures not getting any experience. (Unless it would be explained in an incredibly interesting and detailed way and had some sort of risk/benefit system where you could essentially tell your companion, "Alright, you can go off and do your own Adventuring thing, just be careful/do what you want/be reckless" Then again I also dislike the concept that you could potentially use alternative methods for large chunks of the game and use all that experience you gained from doing that to pump up your combat skill and then all of a sudden be a God at combat despite never fighting once. It all depends on how they do this, but it worries me nonetheless.
  6. Something like this should definitely have an impact on any other non-evil characters in your party though, if this kind of thing does pop up.
  7. No matter how, "dumb" stealth seems in isometric games (It's pretty awful in most games, even on the hardest difficulties in the games that difficulty actually has an impact on if people can detect you or not) it should stay. Hell, I started playing Fallout: NV again the other day and I'm more perceptive than 99% of the creatures/humans in the game...doesn't mean it should all of a sudden be gone. (Though I could do without crouching behind an NPC that obviously saw you and stealing stuff/pickpocketing them...)
  8. I like the option of having a list of equipment to choose from. I don't as much like the idea of having specific equipment shoved onto me because I'm a certain class. If I want to start off with a dagger instead of a short sword as a Warrior why should I be forced into the short sword? Sure, it may only be a little while before I can change it up, but I still dislike it. Honestly I rather be given gold and the option of going to a store over getting forced into having specific gear.
  9. This topic: "Let's make being good so unappealing that anyone who isn't explicitly heavily Roleplaying focused ONLY will never, ever, ever do it" Sounds like a delightful plan. How about we make it so when creating a character you choose if you want to be good and if you do then the game just shows you a game over screen. For the record my first character is likely going to be neutral and then I'll probably make an evil character after that, starting on as hard a difficulty as I can and I still find this stupid. "Only good people ever make sacrifices" Yep, no people summon demons that consume their soul or impart terrible curses on them, never, ever.
  10. I don't like this approach because, and this happens a lot in RPG's, sometimes there will be lower level loot that's better than higher level loot for a specific character archetype. Sure, that level 12 item with +3 Str might be okay for a Rogue to use, but that level 8 item with +2 Dex could easily be better. If they can find a way around that to still prevent stripping then alright.
  11. If there was no agreement beforehand that they'd be getting a cut of the loot, then like hell they'd extort me because we are going our separate ways. If they were supposed to get a cut, then it would make more sense that they got it as we found treasure, unless for some odd reason they explicitly stated they want their cut if and when they leave, then I'd give them there cut and be off. If he attacked me to get something he wasn't owed I'd have no issue killing him or her and if the law saw issue with that, to hell with that law and to hell with that town then. (The option of, "Only if it was agree on beforehand" isn't an option so I'm not going to vote for now)
  12. Pretty sure they don't have silencers yet in PE. Now, if they'll put in parts where you can assassinate people with silent bow attacks to avoid detection or not will be seen. But firearms being noisy as hell should definitely be a factor in whether or not you use them for a particular encounter.
  13. As for variety, as long as they don't dump a load of development time into it, that doesn't bother me that much. As for NPC's commenting in regards to it, no please, that time could be spent a thousand times better elsewhere. Unless there are plans for there to be in-game pets people can acquire that would utilize the same dialogue. But this isn't a freaking tamagochi simulator, so I'll just stick with no.
  14. From a logical stand point of if it would be possible, the answer is in some cases it very likely would, examples follow: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canid_hybrid http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liger http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiglon "Looking back millions of years into early human history, current research into human evolution tends to confirm that in some cases, interspecies sexual activity may have been a key part of human evolution. Analysis of the species' genes in 2006 provides evidence that after humans had started to diverge from chimps, interspecies mating between "proto-human" and "proto-chimps" nonetheless occurred regularly enough to change certain genes in the new gene pool: A new comparison of the human and chimp genomes suggests that after the two lineages separated, they may have begun interbreeding... A principal finding is that the X chromosomes of humans and chimps appear to have diverged about 1.2 million years more recently than the other chromosomes. " I'm sure there are more, but I figure that is enough to say, "It could potentially happen". Important part to pay attention to here is this, "Ligers enjoy swimming, which is a characteristic of tigers, and are very sociable like lions. Ligers exist only in captivity because the habitats of the parental species do not overlap in the wild", meaning despite them being completely cut off from one another they still have the capacity to procreate. It's also fallacious to act as if half-races would eventually lead to there only being one race, all you have to do is look at races in today's world. Sure, there are communities where intermingling is blurring the line between racial differences, but there are other areas where racial diversity is as strong as ever. It does pretty much boil down to what Obsidian wants then. As for my personal preference, I would definitely enjoy having half-races.
  15. Paladin who's only faith is based on his own capabilities and that cracking skulls and intimidation is a more effective way to enact change and persuade people than prayer. Race will be decided when I make the character most likely based on a mixture of RP and racial benefits.
  16. My opinion rests on how they did such a feature. If they did it similar to how Fable handles it, never ever would I want this feature. AKA: Buy property A, choose a level of rent (Low, normal, high) and then forever get income from said property while never having to put in anymore effort into it either resource or time wise, including picking up the rent. Then once you get enough money from it, buy property B, now you have income from property A and B and just repeat until you own every available property in the game, then buy whatever you want from simply leaving the game idle. Never ever would I want this. If they require you to actually put resources back into whatever property you hold, whether that's bringing reagents, materials and items to the store you own to facilitate it having a stock (Could be an option to buy from crafters potentially to take care of at least part of the stock), spending time on upkeeping of households you are renting out and collecting rent with potential cool dialogue options/NPC interactions/events occuring when you do. This would be fun and interesting to me. This would also take more development time than adding the Fable-esque option though, and I rather just not have this altogether if that's what it's going to end up being. I get that, but we have already had it revealed to us that there will be player housing and a stronghold - though they may be one in the same. I'd at least like some ability to vary the stronghold a bit. Last I checked they explicitely said player housing and the stronghold would be two separate entities. Likely meaning you would at some point early in the game acquire housing and then later on you would get the stronghold. As for varying the stronghold, options like this could be very fun and interesting, but again, if it boils down to "buy X, then forever receive periodic income of Y" then no thanks.
  17. I think I love you! We should totally implement a romance about it on this forum. On a more serious note, the meta-debate (though you can't really call it a debate) about who is evil or not (insert insult of choice in place of evil) isn't compelling for me anymore. I bid you all a good day.
  18. It's good that are the one who decides if rebuttal is legitimate. A question just for the sake of curiosity. How many times those points that you made were rebutted in Obsi romance threads? Well, until we have a neutral source you think it's more fair for you to decide that? I'd disagree. Have I had posts countered with legitimate points? Yes. But so have people on both sides of the fence. The difference is I didn't randomly come in and post, "OMG stop saying the same stuff". When people from both sides have been doing that since before I even made my first post on these forums. So it's rather silly to complain about that, especially when I just pointed out an example and I could do that fifty more times if I really wanted to.
  19. I'm being craven how, I don't think I was trying to hide anything. Also wasn't posting about you there, but for Merin's posts it's pretty damn clear when he's trying to be backhanded and snide, not that I'm offended by such things, but if you match that to his outrage over those pretty tame posts it is amusing. As Monte Carlo suggested in one of those posts, you people need to HTFU. It isn't a matter of being offensive to another person. It's a matter of if that is freely allowed progress can never be made. Which in the end might not matter because they may not care about player feedback at all regarding this point. Oh well, let the party continue. Just one example from the VERY POST YOU QUOTED: Fairly accurate representation? Because if you sincerely believe that then there's nothing further to debate here. If by debate, you mean cherry pick what I say, then remove the statements I was responding to and then overstate it for shock value better than any politician has ever done, then yes. The statement about "rape" I don't feel bad about and the two directed towards Mr Furry were far less awful posts than what they were actually responding to. As for the directly quoted one? Oh noes, I exaggerated their position once when they've done it to me fifty-thousand times. At least I did it in a tongue in cheek way where it was obvious I was exaggerating their position. They however try to flat out lie about mine.
  20. Hypocrisy abound slinging around the word craven. I'm just not stupid enough to bang my head against a brick wall while people tell me what I did and did not say and what I did and did not mean by it. . You on the other hand are craven in addition to being hypocritcal.
  21. There should be post limit per topic. People like qloher, Merin, HereticSaint ( whatever is that supposed to mean) are repeating same **** over and over again so it looks as if both sides have arguments. "Only the people I disagree with have repeated their argument, no on else has" And all you points were rebuked at least few times in these countless +500 topics. While your side still ends up repeating same stuff without any regard to anything that has been posted... _______________ There should be post limit per topic. People like qloher, Merin, HereticSaint ( whatever is that supposed to mean) are repeating same **** over and over again so it looks as if both sides have arguments. http://www.gamesindu...-on-kickstarter You tell em, Chris. Leave the romances in the teen novels and the japanese dating sims. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irony Also, no one has made a legitimate rebuttal in this thread towards my most recent posts, just misquotes and ad hominem attacks.
  22. Kickstarter is a bubble. A temporal abnormality that will either burst or fade. Right now it is still a novelty but in a few months when the sensation of newness fades and the first mayor setbacks, like failed and disappointing projects, have occurred the readiness to trade money for glass baubles will fade. Even today you really need big names or tons of luck to get enough money together and this will not improve with the years. This is essentially how Steam is helping indie games. It might not be exactly the same but I'd hardly say it's something that will just, "burst".
  23. Look, I think we can all agree I'm a terrible person who should be purged into the fiery pits of hell for all of eternity. Can we get over that now? I think we can also, pretty much all agree that Obsidian has good people writing for them. All I've said (or meant to say, once again) is that I believe ruling out romances because of forum goers is just as bad as ruling it in because of forum goers. Then I said, if they do decide that there shouldn't be any romance or love whatsoever conveyed in the game that I want a logical in game reason why (for the same reason if friendships weren't available to my character). Sorry I want the plot to make logical sense.
  24. There should be post limit per topic. People like qloher, Merin, HereticSaint ( whatever is that supposed to mean) are repeating same **** over and over again so it looks as if both sides have arguments. "Only the people I disagree with have repeated their argument, no on else has" Also, I find that hilarious, due to half the reason of me having to repeat my arguement is people either didn't understand what I was saying (Living One), or completely twisted around what I said and made it into something else (kenup). Want another example of someone completely misrepresenting what I've said because they don't bother actually reading all my posts? Here it is... my god, you people just don't give up, do you? why do you keep pushing this agenda of yours is beyond me. aren't there games with romances already? why can't you replay those if you like them so much? why try and shove romances into every new game? Please read my posts again, you obviously haven't if that's the conclusion you drew from them.
