  1. The video also shows some new areas and enemies. Pretty sweet stuff incoming!
  2. I mentioned it in the other thread but for those who missed it: The IE mod allows respec'ing without disabling achievements. Just in case the devs couldn't offer the option for whatever reason.
  3. Matt516, I ninja'd you by a few seconds with the question on balance! :D On another note, for those who may want to respec after Perception is changed to grant Accuracy, I would remind you that the IE Mod allows that without disabling achievements.
  4. This is actually fairly high profile in my books Josh, one criticism moved to the base game was a decrease in difficulty/challenge toward the second half, and that was with 12 levels and base-game loot. With the expansion offering 2 more levels, extra loot, and soulbound weapons, is the base game being somewhat rebalanced?
  5. I guess it will either appear in the second part of the expansion, or they're keeping it under wraps until release so we can still marvel at something despite the spoilers we got from previews The fact they chose to keep it under wraps suggests it has something special, so maybe a new kind of godlike otherwise unavailable as a playable race? Or a monster, even?
  6. So, "The Devil of Caroc is actually the spirit of a rogue locked into an animated golem" Interesting.
  7. Previews are popping up with additional details that emerged from the closed-door presentation at E3. Not an exceeding amount of new details, but some are very tasty. For example... ... wait for it... Other things we gather from the previews (including screenshots): The Devil of Caroc is a known murderer. The monk NPC is a drug addict. New loot includes a kick-ass golden scale mail armor, a grey robe, and a light-blue plate. One of the new monk talents is called "Dichotomous Soul" and enables the monk to split their essence in twain, a fire and an ice part, who fight independently. Soulbound weapons increase in power as you accomplish things (they sort of level up) and are tailored to the class of the character whose soul they are bound to. They come with "gorgeous" FX. Many new scripted interactions that check against more than just skills (I take it also talents or spells are checked?) They also hint at enemies being a little wiser, so hopefully enemy AI will be improved upon too. I want a black plate armor, though, goddammit! :D Links: http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/1029/feature/9807/Pillars-of-Eternity-E3-2015-The-White-March-Part-One-Preview.html http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/show/games/release-hit/impressions/preview/features/stealth/ai/devil-cleric/zowa/party-members/story/ogre/durgen/with-pillars-of-eternity-the-white-march-part-i-obsidian-paradox-interactive-are-doing-more-than-just-expanding-the-hit-rpg/23880 http://www.shacknews.com/article/90162/e3-2015-exploring-the-snowy-tundra-of-pillars-of-eternity-the-white-march
  8. "neatly-stubbed" should not be hyphenated as it is formed by an adverb+adjective. Screenshot missing comma after "well". Screenshot The quotation mark underlined should be removed. Screenshot - Screenshot "spread" should probably be "spreading" in this case. Screenshot
  9. The comma underlined is separating the subject from its verb and should be removed. Screenshot The first paragraph should end in a quotation mark the is missing; the second paragraph has a dash that doesn't make much sense in that position and should be removed. Screenshot There's a space that should be removed between the end of the sentence and the closing quotation mark. Screenshot The quotation mark underlined should be removed. Screenshot
  10. Felixg91, for this particular issue it might be helpful to also record a brief video of the issue if you could.
  11. I believe they should also affect weapon lashes, though I've never tested it.
  12. I also never saw PoE described as not selling well. Ever since release, the Hero (basic) and Royal (deluxe) editions have been steadily placed in GoG's top 10 except for brief 1-day intervals during sales (and even during the summer sales, with several titles heavily discounted, PoE is still n. 4 and 5 even when not on sale.) For a low-budget, PC-only game belonging to a genre long considered dead and obsolete, I would say 400,000 copies in three months is nothing to be ashamed of. Most other games in your list have been out for much longer and have gone through several sales, especially during the Christmas holiday season. For the sake of argument, let's pretend Origin sales don't exist and all GoG copies are backer-redeemed copies (which is a gross over-semplification.) Let us also assume that all 415,000 copies sold on Steam are $45 as all proceedings from higher tiers (Champion and Royal) go toward paying Paradox's, Origin's, and GoG's cuts. 415,000 * $45 = $18,675,000 Removing Steam's cut of 30%, that's $13,072,000. So, over $10 million in net profit in three months. IIRC, Faergus once said in an interview that the cost of running the company for a month (the whole company, not just PoE's team; this includes all expenses) is about $1 million. So three months of PoE can sustain the whole company for roughly 10 more months. Not too shabby? Of course the calculation is over-simplified, but there you have it. I wouldn't call it an unsuccessful game by any stretch.
  13. As usual, Luckmann and I agree on a lot
  14. Am I the only one that always thinks about the music from the Shire (Lord of the Rings), when listening to that theme? No, you're not. (I love that Stronghold theme.)
  15. I don't get why the monk must be a bald old man ... Oh well. Very interesting thread! I'm still sad about Cadegund having been cut—she was one of the characters I was looking forward to the most.
  16. I sure hope Obsidian have more up their sleeve than just the multiclass talents (or off-class talents, as Gromnir prefers.) My understanding is that those are a part of the new talents and abilities offered by the expansion.
  17. I second this request, though my top priority for increasing the challenge is still better enemy A.I. (what we have right now is not only very basic; it is fairly dumb.)
  18. Armored Grace for every class—yay!!
  19. juanval - You can access expansion content during the main game or after it. It is likely balanced for level 6-7 parties (e.g. you do it in the middle of your play through) but it can be scaled up if you tackle it later and are higher level.
  20. Good ol' BMac said he would look into implementing SMAA in the expansion, so that would also be rad
  21. Perception doesn't cone into it; Mechanics does. Buff your Mechanics skill and you'll find it.
  22. Agree with OP very much. I'd like this kind of (optional) level scaling for the whole game.
  23. Here comes the hype train! :D Optional level scaling is amazing. I hope we get a chance to apply it to the critical path of the main game as well (I personally like optional content not to scale though.) Zahua is like Forton v2.0, so Forton fans rejoice! Pity it's an older bald man, though—kinda cliché for a monk. Interesting that we'd have a Devil of Caroc character. Maybe it was a concept all along, or maybe it was born out of all the speculation on early screenshots Nice touch that you're able to see your footsteps and your breath in the cold.
