Not sad.

www.yousendit.com be aware that a larger file can take a long time to upload if you are on an ADSL connection, 100MB took me a good 2 hours at least, and there is no way to really tell how much of the file has been sent or if it is still sending or timed out, other than my looking at your 'sent packets' for your internet connection. Still, easy and relatively reliable.

Could these same passeages also be reasnibly open to interpritation in such a way that men could use them as an excuse to oppress women? (in other words that, again, it's not the text which is 'fundimentally' wrong, as much as the people who use it).
-
So what you're saying is that, to your interpritation (and I would agree, the website above is obviously flaunting an adgenda) woman are 'more than just property' even though things like 'one man is worth two women' are also said? (which from an evolutionary standpoint, based purely on 'use to the family' this does have some justification)
-
Interesting, is there more than one version of the text or anything like that? What kind of things does it say about women in the 'original text'? and, from your view, is the above misinterpritation or just flat out lies? In fact, would you be able to give your own translation of any of the above passages to see how they match up? Incidently, this isn't meant to be an attack, I am fundimentally ignorant of the details on this topic, hence the questions.

'then there was light'?

Bastilas only point in the entire game was to run around in her underwear. Voted 'i'm a woman'.

That was a 'meh, effort' either you go back, look at your own arguments and the way they are argued with a blank mind, then do the same to your opponents, or you pass me off as a raving idiot and prove my point anyway. 'examples, facts and quotes' are irrelivent because they were just a way of saying 'i'll show you how many ways I can try to wriggle out of a situation with words'. In other words 'give me somthing to argue about without having to actually look at my own methodology' the 'i'll shoot you from the fort, but wont look at the fort itself'. Anything more is just simantics, and since it IS the impression of a complete outsider with a very limited view, in an odd way, it becomes even more valuble when only looking at the case in point. The sophists, from whom the word 'sophistic' was derived, were an 'orginisation' of people living an anchent greece. They rapidly got themselves banned from sparta (a 'city-state' that was basically a huge millitary camp) for repeatedly going to the leaders one day to argue and convince them of a point, then going back the next day to convince them of another. Opinions may me one thing but 'examples, facts and quotes' are rapidly proven irrelivent when such 'details' mean such a loss of focus on the big picture. This is my opinion.

Just to clarify, yeah, this was my point. The RELIGION hasn't fundimentally changed since then, just the worshippers and the society around it.

I'm not american, I don't care about the means to the end, just the end itself. But if YOU can't see that you're doing exactly the same thing that you're blaming others for, haha.

I think what we might be seeing here is a little bit of 'bias'.

haha, go go Finland!

Point not found. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Normal then.

Dune is Patrick Stewart .

If by this special edition you mean, an actually finished game then yes, I would be interested. KotoR2 was a great game, and obs did wonders with the time that they had, but as we all know, it was simply not finished.

The only opinion I have gained of Islam is that, like everything else, it's the extremes which are unhealthy, and likewise, that the extremes are usally the easiest to notice. This is fresh on our minds and in our newspapers, but is it honestly any worse than what the cathlics and protistants have been doing to each other for 100s of years? Likewise, just look at that spanish inquesition. It's always the 'join or die' the 'our way is the only way' which leads to trouble. As for Islam itself, I cannot comment, the bible (I would compare Christianity and Islam since there are many paralells in the 'structure' of each) has a lot of 'prosocial failsafes' (love thy neibour, turn the other cheek ect) but they are also controdicited, which can lead to confusion and 'excuses' when people need them, to act against this 'all of humanity is your brother' philosophy (which, in essense, is a very positive one, but requires actual intelligence on the part of the individual, which is often the problem). I do not know enough about Islam to say if there is anything similar, but it's probably the case, (the two sides of the coin are often 'our religous text promotes peace' and 'our religious text says we should strike down infidels'). Another differance is that while the Bible is considered 'mans interpritation of the word of god' while the Islamic text is considered 'the word of god'. Of couse, in the hands of the 'fanatical faithful' they both amount to the same thing. In summery, I dont think it is nearly as much to do with Islam itself, as the worshipers, and those who would use the faith to their own antisocial means, consiously or not. I dont know if it's just the modern climate, but these 'young monotheisms' sure seem to cause a lot of trouble.

Civ 4, is it better when all is said and done?
Nick_i_am replied to Kalfear's topic in Computer and Console
Go go Supreme Commander and Sins of a Solar empire! These are the two games I am currently hoping will actually put some 'S' into RTS. -
Is the first chick MEANT to look like that, or is she stoned or somthing?
-
Which, ultimately, is probably the best way to be. Additionally, I wonder how much of the above can be do with 'who's winning'. Or indeed how much of it could be attributed to the notion that democrats think they are right, and republicans *know* they are right. If that makes sense. I'm not even american, and so basiclally ignorant on this stuff, but if an easy insight into another culture is available, I don't mind stiring to dig it up.

Eactly, no RTS to date has *really* been realtime STRATEGY. -

Last film I saw with nude chicks didn't have much of a plot I have to say.
