  1. Well now they are selling off title by title...... I dont know what to expect now of the game. Will someone come along scoop it up and decide to change it or leave it on backburner or etc etc wtc? Dangit im really looking forward to this game, cant wait for it to come out already.
  2. Good reading, I like what im seeing. Im a bit worried as well about the health but I dont know if anyone pointed out that he said health wouldnt be regenerated by magic, but didnt say anything about potions and such. Have we heard anything if theres gonna be health potions or not for health along with stamina? Also im digging his idea for just scraping speech skills. I would much rather have varied options to reply to something and get different even small outcomes and even the idea that past speeches will influence future....ow man that is roleplaying greatness right there if they can pull it off. Someone whos a jackass throughout the entire game comes across a scenario that moves his or her heart and speaks truthfully and sincerity only to have the person hes trying to comfort get mad because they think hes being snide again...that would be awesome.
  3. That trailer was awesome. I had already had high expectations for this game..funny I know with it being a southpark game....but surpriseingly my expectations have just gotten higher.
  4. I just wanna say thank you and im very impressed. Was,an enjoyable read and was actually shocked that u answered so many questions from comments. Simple stuff like that earns my respect and makes me proud I backed such a great team for their new game. Wish u the best of luck in the ai scripting and everything else u doing
  5. Never umdereatimate a good rpg no matter where it comes from Tbh im very tired of southpark myself and ive played their other games and they were all imo horrible. BUT im actually for the first yime in my life looking forward to and cant wait for a southpark product. Not because its only southpark, no actually because it looks go have a great story, interesting characters, and im interested in the game mechanics. If its a good rpg, im sure ita gonna bring in and cater to noy just the south park crowd. Imo if they do it rihht, im willing to bet that even peoe who dislike southpark will enjoy the game as well.
  6. im problemly gonna get flamed here but tbh I want bethesda to do the next fallout. Now hear me out and I got very valid reasons. The reasons is is bethesda can creat some very nice worlds and textures and meshes and so forth. So with the gamebyro engine version whatever it is right now after been tacked on by so many other stuff, can basically use fallout 4 to create the landscape and buildings and etc etc. that way when obsidian does the very next fallout on the new game engine, obsidian already has most of the world fluff already created and they can spend most of their time with story and whatnot, but mainly have more time for story and getting it incorporated into the world. Because lets be honest, a newer version of an engine and only gonna get a small time frame to develope and make the game, I rather there already be stepping stones in place so that obsidian can ne able to do and pack more into the game world with a great amount of fluff already created for them to use.
  7. I wondee if that 30% had anything to do with people geting mad at them for delaying the games
  8. Im kinda under the impression that they are releasing it at the beginning of the fiscal year because of all the love and excitment the game is making, meaning they mainly delayed it so that this fiscal year of theirs starts off with a bang instead of dividing the profit between 2 fiscal years and making it look better on them and their shareholders.
  9. Nope never played the originals, I nelieve the only obsidian game iver played all the way thru was fonv. They impressed me enough to throw money at them with a game style im not fly familar with. Thats what I was wondering because the closest rpg high fantasy setting ive played recently would be morrowind and da:
  10. Ok long term rpg fan here, and while,I may know some mainstream rules like silver against undead, ive noticed that in dnd games usually have alot more rules and such. I was wondering if I need to look into getting a dnd book to fully understand and appreciate this game and if so, ive noticed theres alot of different versions so which would be the best? Was just wondering if things would be explained away or if I have no great knowledge of dnd, will I be scrambling to get thru the game?
  11. If fetch quests are rightly done and well integrated meaning they make sense, then I dont mind them as long as their isnt an overflow of them. Like for example in morrowind, sorry been playing that lately and experiencing it fully for the very firat time, but the mages quild, the very first couple of quests were fetch quests for mushrooms and flowers. It didnt bother me because one of the skills the guild focused on was alchemy and it was done to basically mutually benefit us with notes and info on ingredients for ourselves while we are helpung someone else trying to rank up. It makes sense and seemed to have an actual purpose. Now if someone was like , bears have been ruining my job here lately I want you to go and bring me back some bear pelts. I dont care where u get them, from the bears actually damaging my goods, bears from across the world, or hell buy them from a shopkeeper, I dont care just bring me back and ill reward you and thank you for slaying the bears effecting my life stock..... Those are the ones I wanna them to stay away from.
  12. the last quest I did that really floored me was in fonv. It was the one where u was hiring prostitues for wrangler and being a very low speech and barter person, it seemed everyone I could recruit had a way besides a speech check to get them to take the job except for the ghoul. The ghoul it seemed could only be recruited if u passed a speech or a barter check so me not using magazines to "cheat", that quest got left hanging for awhile. One day after I had ransacked a bar of its finer drinks, I came across her to see if I could find another way. Surprise there was, she noticed I had a bottle of absintine and by using that I was able to recruit her. I was floored because there was no indication or outright suggestions that option was even available. I know its such a small thing, but that level of quality and detail was what made me back them for the project. Right now im doing a fullrun thru morrowind, and is it sad that ive enjoyed and found each quest to actually fit and make sense? That even the fetch quests actually had a purpose? So far really shocked at bethesdas quality in this game, I wonder why that level of quality is disappearing rapidly from their recent games. Its almost like comparing da:o with da2 that has actual different levels instead of one huve reused one.
  13. Im gonna say my favorite game is morrowind, and as far as the second question, id say da:o
  14. im gonna say im partial to how they did morrowinds map. U get 2 maps, ones an overlaying outline of the region and then u get a map that is blank except the areas u actually walk over.
  15. give us somewhat an exit on every 5 levels, but make them exits and not entrances
  16. however they decide to creat what foundation, setting, tone, and structure of the game, I have faith that no matter how it turns out weither its a depressing story or a barbaric story of hack and slash, it will be of the highest quality. Remember this is a rpg that they wanted to creat, not someone telling them to creat it, but something they wanted to do. With that motivation behind the project, I expect that it will go higher than our realist expectataions. So to answer ur question, I dont really care one way or another. If its an intizing story, then I will enjoy it.
  17. Id be nice if they played it like fonv in warning ya. Like when we first hear or discover the dungeon, we have npcs telling us that we to noobish to even think about going there. Like they could say "ive seen partys better equiped and better experienced than you never come back from there". And they could tell us when we are semi ready with dialogue, and they could tell us when we are ready or overkill for that ace. Have it to where the enemys are basically scaled to a grp of levels for example, the top 4 floors are scaled for level 18, the mid of the dungeon scaled towards 21, and the end scaled more towards level 25. Maming to where we go in at the mid level and the beginning easy for us and the end is a doable challenge for us.
  18. Yes, but please like the person posted, dont let it be "quest failed" but give us experience and a different path.
  19. Eh it was putting 2 and 2 together of constantly seeing layoffs, projects continually being cancelled. The lack of games being released dwindling down each year. Maybe it was on the verge of being shutdown or downsized, but the company has hit some hard patches in the road recently.
  20. Im gonna be honest here. Ive never played any of the games they talked about in their qoute. Recently I played fo1 & 2 and they are good storys but didnt like the gameplay so much. Why did I even fund them for a game style im not familar with or problemly dont like? Simple, Chris and josh have impressed me sooooooooo much with their work in fonv, that I heard they were on the verge of going under...well I felt it was my duty as a fan of their quality of work to keep on going. What free me in wasnt the games they mentioned, but the quality of their work has made me a diehard fan and I wanted to part of and contribute to them hopefully getting back on their feet and staying together. Also before I get flamed, I am planning on remedying my situation with the older games with gog.com,, its just im broke lol and I gotta wait til I get some money and for me to finally complete morrowind and its expansion storylines lol.
  21. The dont like it, dont use it isnt a very good arguement. Look how its done in skyrim....shudders. If they decide to multiple exits/entrances, then it needs to be done in a way we are not forced to self gimp ourselves but be challenged still by game design, not our own rules and such.
  22. Id like for him to be somewhat of a dagar ur type charector/boss
  23. Gah I cant pick between morrowind with mods or fonv with uncut mods......gah
  24. Choice and consequence then. If u chose to hoard everything, then the consequence would be the run back to the entrance. I think respawning could work because they say strong souls have a permanent residence in that place. The souls could latch onto dead or skeletal remains of the workers or past explorers. We destroy the body they inhabit, but we dont destroy the soul. It dosent respawn while we are in there, but if we leave, the souls come outta hiding so to say and relatch or recreat bodys in which to house their souls into. if they went with the backtracking towards entrance, they could work it a couple of ways. One would be that the focus of the megadungeon be more on story and curiosity and less on loot. Another would be to have the loot in chests or stockpiles that dont respawn so if u venture in again, u can just take the direct route towards the previous level u was at and not have to worry about exoring every bit again because the loot is gone and we could still just battle it up if we so chose. Maybe have less spawns if we cleared like if we did one level and it had 20 spawns scattered about on the level, then when we come back theres only 5 or 6 spawns scattered about. Also if we clear a place, chances are it wont take no time at all to leave, maybe just a few minutes tranversing our way back out since most of our time will be progressing forward by figuring out where to go and enemys to face. If we need to go back, we already know the route back and if we cleared the enemys then no fighting on the way back. We leave, then a few enemys within reason respawn.
  25. Well u know what they when u try to make everyone happy...nobody ends up happy. This dungeon gonna be designed catering to a certain crowd more than others. Ow Wells, they know what they gonna do with it and in the end I gave them money so that they can make the game the way they want to. Yes I have my preferences on what I believe would make me the most happiest, but in the end even if they dont cater to my way, thats fine. Im sure they will make it very enjoyable and whatever they make it ill at least give them a chance and not just write it off and not even comete it at least once on the sole fact it wasnt catered to my specifications. However it turns out, even if its not what u would have wanted it to turn out like, we should all give the end result at least one unbias complete go thru and reserve our judgements there. We shouldnt be if theres an exit on every level im not gonna do it or if theres on the one exit im not gonna do it, we should all give the end result at least one complete unbias playthru and reserve judgements until then.
