I backed this project because i know i will get great stories, excellent characters, and a chance for obsidian to have theirbown ip. so my only contribution to this thread is that if i get those 3 i wont care 1 iota if females OR males are running around in thongs or all the armor makes everyone look like a massive muscleor male weither female or a puny male. Thisbisnt something i want obsidian wasting time mulling over trying to be political correct or being a male fantasy. I want their vision for this because i trust them that its gonna be an excellent game. So bring on the boob armor and thongs for both male and females and bring out the armor that makes everyone look like a steroid juiced up male!- 340 replies

Thinking Of Running A Pathfinder Game

As a newbie GM in pathfinder and it being my first tabletop experience..its rules heavy yes but most of those rules u learn and become automatic knowledge like playing a baldurs gate game per se. Good thing about table top is that u dont have to use a map and figurines for ur meat, i usually just usebthem for bbeg battles and whatnot while the rest is theatrics. Its when ur players start doing crazy off the wall stuff is when u mainly startsearching the rules for but good thing about home games is that u can either rule "for cool" or/and say ur allowing it this way right nowbuntil u get better info. -

Im sorry but im gonna have to disagree with those posts. When i play the game i can see both companies hand in the game. Matt and Trey on the south park feel and vibe and its obsidias hand i can see when im experiencing and feeling the old school roleplay vibe and mechanics. Most other companies could have nailed the south park vibe because of how incontrol matt and trey are, but we wouldnt have gotten that whole roleplaying vibe as strong as we do from most other companies. -

I started a new game just to see after the patch because the very first game was when it first downloaded. My other games ive tried 3 times so far is u do the tutorial and give kenny a flower beforebu leave and ive been getting the msg when i step outta cartmans house. So for me it seems they fixed it. ) I have noticed that my character will flash in and out in cut scenes on my first game later on in the game but i havent tested it out with the newer characters so they may have fixed that. I dunno -
K making this topic is this forums. preordered the game from steam but cannot access the outfits i was supposed to have. Now this may not be a bug but maybe i missed the oppertunity to get them because im looking and it says u have to do the tutorials AND get kenny a flower. I did not do the flower but later. was wondering if i had locked myself out or if they are just not slawning in my toychest for me.

Mmmm ill go ahead and let u know u most likely wont get concrete numbers because of the pc sales on steam. Steam doesnt release their numbers to anyone except the company who produced it. Found this out on bethsoft forums because for awhile people believed pc sales were lower than ps3 sales and xbox the majority because the numbers people found was with retail copies. It wasnt until recently bethsoft basically hinted heavily that pc sales were the most because they stated that pc sales were alot morethan they ever believed, so much so that they were talking about making their next game made on pc then ported to consoles unlike they did for skyrim when they made it for xbox and ported it yo the others. I will say that the game is freaking awesome and basically delivers on being a rpg AND captures the south park feel cometely. Obsidian and trey and matt did a most awesome job on this game and i really hope the sales make this a huge sucess.

Ill go ahead and state atm im not to keen on a stat that governs damage thru all sourses (melee and magic). Just cant bring myself to like the idea that if i can do alot kf damage thru magical means that same token i can do alot of damage thru melee means as well. guess its just hard to throw off the old clerics are wise, wizards are intelligent, rogues are agile, and fighters are syrong mentality. But im gonna give them the benefit of the doubt. Ill try it out and see how it feels and if not, then gigure out how to mod the stats in what i would feel is best for my personal game.

Mmm i like that theres a flat increase in the stats in a way. That way u can build different effective builds. And ill say this and it will sound contradictory is that i do hope that classes receives bonuses to certain areas with said stats. Meaning a fighter with points into might get a bonus percentage to a certain area that the stat deals with. This way a fighter and wizard with the same stat in might will see a difference in the dmg they are putting out with different abilities. Meaning the fighter and wizard arent dishing out the same dmg right outta the box in weapons and dmg BEFORE traits/feats/what have u are selected. If that amkes any sense.

Instead of starting another thread ill post the question here since it seems relevant. will there be bonuses to said mechanics to each different class? What i mean is this, lets use might. We know it increases spell dmg and also weapon damage. Would say a fighter who has 14 might be doing the same spell damage and weapon damage as a wizard who jas 14 points might before talents/feats/etc? Or will the fighter do more dmg with weapons then the wizard? Meaning before talents/feats/whatever the wizard would need like 18 or 20 points to match the same damage of the fighter? If thats not clear enough ill give a wow example though it pains me to do so. Rogues and druids both benegit from agi in that game, but a rogue 1agi=1ap whereas a druid 1agi=2ap. Agility does the same for both classes, but one class gets a bonus to that stat over the others. So even though both classes could have the same amount of the same stat, its effecting one class signically morethan the other. Would that be the same mentality here in PoE? Meaning that a fighter and wizard who has the same amount of might stat, one IS doing more weapon damage than the other and vice versa with spell damage. The stat is still increasing the wizards weapon damage, just noticebly more with the fighter though?

Is it really wrong to feel important? I think that everyone should feel himself/herself the most important thing in the universe. What is there to gain from feeling like an ant? As far as i see it, the culture that promotes low self-respect is exactly the reason why things such as the bystander effect can be expected. An old bible verse came to mind "pride cometh before the fall". The video that way posted, I didn't get the vibe that it was promoting low self respect, but saying that their are things out there beyond our comprehension even if its staring us in the face....and its okay that we cant unravel every mystery. That's its okay for their to be things out there we cannot ever understand, because isn't that an important and exciting part of life knowing their are unknowns out there waiting to be discovered or experienced? The guy even said that they have tried to reason with it or communicate with it but cannot and hes fine with that. Its saying that no matter how big or important we think we are, there are things out there that we are ants to. In size and in how much we are recognized and noticed. Very good video by the way, never saw that episode, I need to go look it up. -

Ill be honest the last game I played that I role played anything religious was in morrowind as part of the temple. From the pilgrimage to become part of the temple to the seeing the golden masked guys to the principles they venerated and the background. Granted it wasn't perfect but it added a very nice layer that could be easily dismissed or delved into per players choice. Now granted quite a few of the core elements (aka dandruff princes) were already established and brought up, but the religion gave more depth to them and to the tribunal. And the lore around it as well. Now I would love to ha e that quality of religion in this game but I would also love to have the same option to delve or ignore them and not feel like I am purposely evading something if that makes any sense. -
Omg omg omg excellent update! Looking awesome! As a pnp dm/player its solo nice to see the love the rogue is getting. Sigh plz take as long as u need, we backed u so u have the opportunity to do so, but alas I really really can't wait for this to come out lmao

Mann ill be honest I'm not to keen on strength governing healing. I'd rather that go with resolve or intelligence. If intelligence can govern how much damage a spell can do, why can't it govern how much healing? I hope the attributes line up with what they govern and make sense.- 483 replies

Well ill go ahead and add my first group wipe. I made a dungeon that had an evil cleric at the end of it but he also had a hidden plant that would shot needles totals away intelligence. The plant came with 2 plant zombies. If the plant grappled u for 2 turns u would turn into a plant zombie of urself. Had an alchemists, a Magnus, and a sorcerer and a fighter. All lvl 3. Well they get thru the dungeon pretty well but the sorcerer got himself a shiny magical sword so he started going in and trying to melee the plant zombies and gone unconscious. The fighter and magus make short work of the zombies and the alchemist uses his mutagene to take on the cleric. Alchemist gets grappled and the fighter gets holdbperson cast on him. Magus is missing on the cleric. sadly the alchemist fails grapple checks both times and becomes a plant zombie in its mutagenesis form. So the fighter watches the alchemist tear into the magus and is basically fed to the zombie plant to become a zombie himself. Sadly the dice gods were not with them in that match but the players loved going out in style and had the cleric and the zombiefied versions of the past party as bbeg in the campaign. So crazy how free flowing pnp can be when even game overs are just really just a new chapter in the game.
