It was nice when you were overloaded and needed to quicktravel. But dang it was stupid how bears could run you down riding your horse. Or maybe bears are just that fast. Well bears are pretty fast, can actually run as fast and faster than a human. I'm guessing ingame they were able to run ya down because the horse was carrying the person (100 something pounds or more) along with all those 300+ pounds of spoons that u were gonna use to replace the levitate spell with all at one time....lol

Wasn't horses and cats extinct in the fallout universe? Also I didn't like the emptyness of the mojave at first but playing with ARwens mod, it really sunk in that this is a desert and not a themepark. Once I realized that fonv wasn't a giant themepark with a shallow story but instead a Nevada desert with an open story for u to explore (aka focus wasn't on actual physical exploration but exploration of the story) made it a vast and deep place for me. The uncut mods actually added a good bit to the story, land, and atmosphere. Mileage may vary from person to person of course.

Okay haven't seen video yet because I'm at work and gotta wait til I get home for the wifi goodness. After I watch I will give some advice. But I do wanna thank you before hand for doing this as I am so excited about this game that I literally know next to nothing of the lore and settings that haven't been said by the BB annoucements, so this will help me out a lot.

PoE Strategy Guide
redneckdevil replied to DnaCowboy's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Yeah I preordered mine off Amazon. Apparently there's only so many copies being made and then no more. -
All they would have to do to bypass the lawsuit is a have a document attached in the game files that can easily be read that lists all the sources that they got their materials and rules and etc from and not have a Eula agreement in the game or manual or anywhere. That's it. Reason why no one has done it yet is because the Eula agreement "protects" them from piracy in that it outright states u shall not or face penalties. And the fact which I'm not sure if they count the agreement of the places u purchase the game from and play it on (aka steam, consoles, gog, etc) counts towards that as well.

The Official Romance Thread
redneckdevil replied to Rosbjerg's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
As someone who's okay with romance as long as it's oprional and u don't miss any content by not doing so but IS "against romance being the ONLY way to have deep meaningful roleplay options" mentality, I think a few ideas. First and a huge one, make it completely optional. That means that if someone persues said romance, they get dialogue and maybe an option on how to resolve a situation, but no unlocking great mysteries or areas of items, etc etc. Second,ur gonna have to make it for the big 4. They need to be done right as in the have their own ideals and there is no "minigame" of selecting heart dialogue. Also players are gonna have to accept that just as in real life, u won't always get the one u want. Third, no cramming it down our throats. Anders from DA2 is a huge example. He was basically ur only healer depending on what class and sex u chose Hawke to be and while that alone u want to keep on his good side, it felt like the only way to stay on his good side was to full on accept his whining and he told he was right and a lot of times felt like u had no option BUT to flirt with him. By the time the game was done, anders was going on that block weither or not he blew up a building. If romance is in the game, it does NOT take first seat but as something of lesser importance. Fourth, if u do by the nines, have it connect somehow to the plot but in a way that is unnoticeable. I'll give morrigan from da:o as an example. While getting to romance her wasn't the most ideal way, IF u did it had some type of bearing to the final plot. Don't make romances in its own little world, just like with lore, culture, c&c, etc have it integrated into the overall plot. Not this "uve been acting in a way that totally goes against my values and I'm so close to hating you but since u said and have me gifts, I'm ur one true love now. Now let's continue on doing things that I totally disagree with so that I can forget that ur always like this and eventually leave you" type situations. Fifth and final point. Be happy if the game has deep lore, deep culture, deep companions and deep c&c and doesn't have romance in it. Get it in ur heads that romance isn't the one true way and isn't any important than any of what I just listed above. It's equal to those but imho for people can be harder to pull off. So accept that their doesn't have to be romance in every single game and that those devoid of said romances can be deep and meaning roleplaying games with tons of options that aren't in any way lacking because of lack of romance. Also that a game can have OPTIONAL romances and as long as it doesn't full on focus and shove down ur throats, romance if done well can add roleplaying options to a game. Romance can be important but isn't any more important than a well down lore, culture, companions, c&c, game mechanics etc. I would argue that due to the type of story or setting or situation, romance can be very important. BUT isn't so important that game always needs romances for the player to be involved with. -
Don't care if fallout will flop or not, I thought fonv was the greatest roleplaying game I've ever played, but I still love fallout 3. I'm excited even though I know it's most likely going to be like 3, really excited. But as I've noticed. I'm thinking and craving more to play Poe than I am with fallout. And I'm sorry I didn't mean to derail

windows version?
redneckdevil replied to Zed's topic in Pathfinder Adventures: General Discussion (No Spoilers!)
I totally see it coming out on pc but sadly not the consoles even though I want them too. And the reason is patches. It's a lot easier but more importantly to patch pc games while consoles usually charge a huge amount for each patch. And since the card game just like the tabletop game constantly changes its rules, that would be patch after patch after patch. That would get very expensive very fast on consoles. -
I cease to be amazed on why having "romance" is the ONE true way to having deep role playing options....when great lore, variety of mechanics, choice and consequence in actions, well designed companions and npcs who have a life of their own, etc etc all each individually can impact deep role playing options JUST AS MUCH as a well written romance can. All romance is is just another tool or method a writer uses to get u to care or interact with something in the story. It isn't the BEST tool nor is it the ONLY tool to have deep role playing options. Can u have deep role playing options with romance? Hell yeah, sure if it's done well and optional. But then again so can u with ingame lore or just the actual culture that's displayed in the game. And to be frankly, IF romance is the only thing u see as having deep roleplaying options, then tbh the game failed on basically everything else if that was the only way to get u that feeling. Because that means before the romance and everything else in the game failed to give u roleplaying options. Yes romance can ADD roleplaying options to a game, but a game can stand on its own without having it and still have deep roleplaying options. Hell 2 games off the top of my head is Morrowind and fonv.

Mmmm I play a lot of single player games but sometimes I just wanna turn my brain off and enjoy playing with other people in killing floor, cod, battlefield, and sometimes with borderlands. I guess if it has a story I like playing single player because I set the pace but sometimes like with Diablo and borderlands I like to play cool but usually after I have gone thru the single player part by myself. And sometimes u just need to turn ur brain off and just kill other players ingame, satisfaction of beating a live opponent instead of an AI one sometimes.

I'm hoping since they doing Apple that they will put it on the phones as well hopefully -
I can't bring myself to finish it, it's just....boring? Taking a break from it and playing dying light instead, I'll try jumping back into after I'm done taking a break from it. Btw dying light for what it is is actually a pretty damn good game.

IMHO I love every track of Morrowind and the first time I listened to it, I got heavy vibes that I was listening to a more "civilization" Morrowind theme music. While Morrowind gives the feeling that ur going to travel wilderness, this gives off the same impression and vibe but with a feel that there's civilization where we are going to, places that are somewhat modern. I loved Jeremy's work in that game and this just gives me the same chills and vibes, BUT as something new and different. Bravo sir! This is a work of art and I LOVE it! Tyvm

Victorian 1800s england with a mashup of old horror tales combined with lovecraft lore

**** tbh with avellone a writing, he can draw his stick figures and I'll be happy for it lol. But seriously, sometimes good things gotta be cut (hopefully for an expansion) and tbh it's not like it was the "only" good thing the game woulda had and now it doesn't have any, nah I'm confident enough there's alot of great material in it.

But I am very excited about this game though, looks to be shaping up to be a masterpiece.

CDPR has stated that there will be no platform-specific DLC, no pre-order DLC, no store-specific DLC, plus they will be giving 16 pieces of DLC away for free to everybody that owns the game, regardless of platform (that number is likely inflated to sound more impressive than it is and some of the DLC likely could have been bundled together, but still, it's free). As of so far, CDPR has never gone down the milking their customers with DLC or only putting certain DLC on certain platforms route. The only fear I have from seeing all the XBOX logos is that the game will not be as great on PC as it could have been due to it being held back by console development. That's also my other concern, hopefully they can make a stand and just do the best they can on each platform instead of trying to give everyone the exact same experience by going by the lowest denominator and everyone gets that. They do that, maybe other publishers will follow suit and maximize each platform so that everyone is getting the best of what their platform can give.
