  1. I've just been going on about how great Mars: War Logs is. It's on the 360 for $10. Try the demo first though. Mars: War Logs, like all the Spiders games I've played, is a fairly good game that could have been really special but didn't come close to living up to its potential. It has some good ideas, but it falls into a really tedious pattern of repetition and has some of the most atrocious dialogue and voice acting you will find anywhere this side of a Reality Pump game. Still, it's thoroughly worthwhile, especially considering the meager asking price.
  2. I'm not worried. I've enjoyed the other Kickstarter games I backed that already released, including Shadowrun Returns, which is one of my very favorite games of 2013 (I liked it so much I bought it again for my phone). I only just started Broken Age, so can't comment too much on it.
  3. What, you don't know what the gameplay is like when they keep mentioning Dark Souls in almost every interview with nothing to back their claims? I mean, emulating the kind of feeling Dark Souls gives you when you play it, is an easy and straightforward task right? RIGHT? ...right? Name dropping Dark Souls is the fashionable thing to do these days. This game is part this and part Dark Souls. We take inspiration from Dark Souls. It's sort of like a cross between Dark Souls and this other game. If I had the programming skill I'd be tempted to make a visual novel dating simulator with ponies and magical cat people and advertise it as "taking elements from by Dark Souls".
  4. My problem with Lords of the Fallen is that they have shown literally zero gameplay so far. Sure, the screenshots and artwork look nice, but they don't tell me anything at all about how the game will play. Can a brother get a gameplay trailer? I mean, they should at the very least have a vertical slice by now.
  5. I think that was the worst movie I ever saw. Or at the very best tied with The Hulk. I will never forgive the person who suggested we watch it in the cinema. Him and the two jokers who dragged me to watch Terminator 3. Terminator 3 is the one with the girl terminator and the girl from My So Called Life, right? That wasn't nearly as bad as Terminator 4. T3 is actually halfway decent, it's just that T2, quite possibly the best 90s action blockbuster, set the bar so incredibly high that T3 looks like a steaming pile of dog poo in comparison. [thread re-railing]In video game news of the random variety here are some Lords of the Fallen screenies: [/thread re-railing]
  6. I've done as you described, no key. Contact Humble Bundle support. I didn't get my key and I contacted Double Fine support who it turn told me to contact Humble Bundle support (since they're doing the fulfillment) and Humble Bundle support got back to me with my key.
  7. Played a bit of Broken Age today. I played about a half hour of the Shay story, not nearly enough to make even a preliminary judgement on story and puzzles (the few I did were incredibly simple, as is expected for super early puzzles). I can say that the game looks incredibly gorgeous, the voice acting and musical score are both top notch. The wolf guy, Marek, is amazingly good in particular. Like any Double Fine game it's pretty much bursting at the seams with charm and whimsy. The control scheme choice is slightly odd, but nothing that I couldn't adjust to in all of 15 seconds. I'm definitely looking forward to diving into the game headlong come this weekend.
  8. I'm imagining something along the lines of Fire Emblem, which works for me, on account of Fire Emblem being awesome.
  9. This one definitely has me interested, with some reservations. Pros: Tactical Turn-Based RPG (definitely my jam) Made under the guidance of Yasumi Matsuno (I'm not a huge fan of Final Fantasy XII, but Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics were spectacular) Cons: Who the **** is Playdeck? (never heard of them) Being made for mobile first then ported to PC and potentially other platforms (I have no problem with a game like this being on mobile, it's perfect for a touchscreen, my worry is how will the PC port be? Will it be properly made and polished or will it be slipshod?)
  10. For the Lions fans out there that are not familiar with Jim Caldwell, here is a quick visual tutorial of the many demeanors of Jim Caldwell: Happy Jim Caldwell Mad as **** Jim Caldwell Sad Jim Caldwell Stepped on a nail Jim Caldwell Just found out he won Powerball Jim Caldwell
  11. Does the movie offer six degrees of freedom?
  12. Did it not bother anyone but me that LoS shamelessly ripped off Shadow of the Colossus? I can't speak for anyone else, but it doesn't bother me one bit.
  13. Everything looks great. The ruins look fantastic. I'm a big fan of wood grain so I'm definitely liking the character sheet window.
  14. Looks like the Lions hired Jim Caldwell as their new coach. Caldwell's vacant, emotionless stare on the sidelines is quite a contrast to Schwartz's antics.
  15. Maybe the best thing to happen during this weekend of football: The introduction of sideline reporter Allie LaForce: That almost made up for being subjected to listening to Dierdorf one last time.
  16. Cat and rat "sharing" a milk bowl
  17. I think the biggest downside to the Broncos beating the Chargers is that it kills any possibility of us seeing Philip Rivers rocking a bolo tie at a press conference for the rest of the season.
  18. Ouch, that had to be super painful with m&kb.
  19. Alienware? Are you trying to bankrupt Walsy?
  20. Those are some seriously awesome pixel animations. As a backer, I'm pretty excited to soon get my hands on this Mega Man style platformer.
  21. Warning: Foul language ahead "****ing Julius!"
  22. Let's not just assume the C-Hox will just beat the Niners. I'd say they're the favorites, but anything can happen in a one game scenario.
