I know how you feel. I wish the guy well, I really do, but it's hard to resist making jokes about how fragile his body is.
  2. Grantland Fauxclusive Goodell's Inbox I posted a link rather than the picture because thar be foul language, maties. The correspondence with Jerry Jones in my favorite part.
  3. "Eventually" being the operative word. With Greenlight who knows when it will actually see the digital light of day. wow although, release in May 2013... doesn't look too good turns out Venetica is available on GamersGate http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-VENETICA/venetica Sweet. Once my backlog clears up (2016? ) I'll look to scoop this up so that I can play it again and have a digital copy.
  4. That sucks. I think I still have my disc somewhere... maybe. Too bad it's not on Steam or GOG. I'd buy it again just to have it digitally (I'm pretty much done buying physical discs). I wonder if Desura or some other digital distributor has it?
  5. Holy mackarel, I'm not the only one who really liked that game.

It was nice to see Greg Oden out on the court the other night. Hopefully his legs don't shatter into a billion pieces and he stays healthy.
  7. Yeah, it's being made by Tomasz Gop (he's the executive producer) and Deck 13. Gop was a senior producer on Twitcher2, which gives me hope for the game, or, if you're like Dudanae, likely means you want him to burn in hell for all eternity. Not much is known about the game beyond it being a single player action RPG, being combat focused, and them namedropping "Dark Souls" more often than people google image search "Kate Upton". As an aside, I keep hoping Deck 13 makes another Venetica game, though I'm probably the only person on the planet that really liked that game.
  8. I use Steam offline, truly offline, as in no ethernet cable hooked up to my laptop and I'm nowhere near a wifi hotspot so unless someone is beaming me data ninja style through some kind of secret hush hush connection there's no way I'm connected to the internet, regularly and have no problems. I used to have problems with offline mode, namely I wouldn't be able to connect to Steam in offline mode if I didn't previously switch to offline mode while I still has access to the internet (which was retarded), but Valve fixed that something like 2 years ago and it's been smooth sailing for me ever since. Sucks it doesn't work this well for everyone.
  9. Wait, The Walking Dead games are laden with QTEs? Crap. I had no interest in playing them anyway (because **** zombies), but I figure this means that The Wolf Among Us, which I am interested in, or was, is laden with QTEs too. There's a good chance that if and when they ever make another Sam & Max game they'll also load it up with QTEs. *sigh* I was hoping they were just straight point n clicks like what Telltale made before.
  10. The new system of upgrading enchantments is just ridiculous. It's so needlessly complicated. One of the arguments for it is that previously you had to carry around ungodly amounts of lesser enchantments with you in an effort to upgrade them, which clogged up your inventory. While this is true, and I don't carry around all these lesser enchantments, I instead carry around ungodly amounts of refining stones which clog up my inventory. Hence, this did NOTHING to solve that problem. It seems like they made the system complicated simply for the sake of it being complicated. Was there no one that said "guys, what are you doing, this is retarded" when they were testing this on the test server/shard?

The Thunder got a much needed win tonight in Houston. At the half it looked like all Rockets but things hanged dramatically in the second half. The Rockets set a record for greatest differential in scoring between halves, scoring a season high 73 points in the 1st half and a pathetic 19 points in the second half. For the Thunder, Ibaka had a monster 21 point 15 rebound 5 block night, Durant had 36 points 5 rebounds and 7 assists, and Reggie Jackson had 23 points and 6 steals.
  12. I've just been going on about how great Mars: War Logs is. It's on the 360 for $10. Try the demo first though. Mars: War Logs, like all the Spiders games I've played, is a fairly good game that could have been really special but didn't come close to living up to its potential. It has some good ideas, but it falls into a really tedious pattern of repetition and has some of the most atrocious dialogue and voice acting you will find anywhere this side of a Reality Pump game. Still, it's thoroughly worthwhile, especially considering the meager asking price.
  13. I'm not worried. I've enjoyed the other Kickstarter games I backed that already released, including Shadowrun Returns, which is one of my very favorite games of 2013 (I liked it so much I bought it again for my phone). I only just started Broken Age, so can't comment too much on it.
  14. What, you don't know what the gameplay is like when they keep mentioning Dark Souls in almost every interview with nothing to back their claims? I mean, emulating the kind of feeling Dark Souls gives you when you play it, is an easy and straightforward task right? RIGHT? ...right? Name dropping Dark Souls is the fashionable thing to do these days. This game is part this and part Dark Souls. We take inspiration from Dark Souls. It's sort of like a cross between Dark Souls and this other game. If I had the programming skill I'd be tempted to make a visual novel dating simulator with ponies and magical cat people and advertise it as "taking elements from by Dark Souls".
  15. My problem with Lords of the Fallen is that they have shown literally zero gameplay so far. Sure, the screenshots and artwork look nice, but they don't tell me anything at all about how the game will play. Can a brother get a gameplay trailer? I mean, they should at the very least have a vertical slice by now.
  16. I think that was the worst movie I ever saw. Or at the very best tied with The Hulk. I will never forgive the person who suggested we watch it in the cinema. Him and the two jokers who dragged me to watch Terminator 3. Terminator 3 is the one with the girl terminator and the girl from My So Called Life, right? That wasn't nearly as bad as Terminator 4. T3 is actually halfway decent, it's just that T2, quite possibly the best 90s action blockbuster, set the bar so incredibly high that T3 looks like a steaming pile of dog poo in comparison. [thread re-railing]In video game news of the random variety here are some Lords of the Fallen screenies: [/thread re-railing]
  17. I've done as you described, no key. Contact Humble Bundle support. I didn't get my key and I contacted Double Fine support who it turn told me to contact Humble Bundle support (since they're doing the fulfillment) and Humble Bundle support got back to me with my key.
  18. Played a bit of Broken Age today. I played about a half hour of the Shay story, not nearly enough to make even a preliminary judgement on story and puzzles (the few I did were incredibly simple, as is expected for super early puzzles). I can say that the game looks incredibly gorgeous, the voice acting and musical score are both top notch. The wolf guy, Marek, is amazingly good in particular. Like any Double Fine game it's pretty much bursting at the seams with charm and whimsy. The control scheme choice is slightly odd, but nothing that I couldn't adjust to in all of 15 seconds. I'm definitely looking forward to diving into the game headlong come this weekend.
  19. I'm imagining something along the lines of Fire Emblem, which works for me, on account of Fire Emblem being awesome.
  20. This one definitely has me interested, with some reservations. Pros: Tactical Turn-Based RPG (definitely my jam) Made under the guidance of Yasumi Matsuno (I'm not a huge fan of Final Fantasy XII, but Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics were spectacular) Cons: Who the **** is Playdeck? (never heard of them) Being made for mobile first then ported to PC and potentially other platforms (I have no problem with a game like this being on mobile, it's perfect for a touchscreen, my worry is how will the PC port be? Will it be properly made and polished or will it be slipshod?)
  21. For the Lions fans out there that are not familiar with Jim Caldwell, here is a quick visual tutorial of the many demeanors of Jim Caldwell: Happy Jim Caldwell Mad as **** Jim Caldwell Sad Jim Caldwell Stepped on a nail Jim Caldwell Just found out he won Powerball Jim Caldwell
  22. Does the movie offer six degrees of freedom?
  23. Did it not bother anyone but me that LoS shamelessly ripped off Shadow of the Colossus? I can't speak for anyone else, but it doesn't bother me one bit.
  24. Everything looks great. The ruins look fantastic. I'm a big fan of wood grain so I'm definitely liking the character sheet window.
