  1. Whoop! Was a somewhat lurker on the forums. Big time poster in the comments. Time to get moving on up!
  2. Amusing... They'd done it in the past for testing certain aspects for games. If they follow the traditional route it won't be known until a beta or the final game releases.
  3. Once a week or once a month. Depends on what it is. Even if it is just like throwing up another screenshot. Doesn't have to be as detailed as the kickstarter updates either.
  4. Who I believe lost a Hand and a Foot (An Arm and a Leg) .
  5. lol, A random encounter with a bunch of people partying and a drunk guy on the ground yellling YOOOOO BULGARIA or something. And a gal in a green tunic dancing with a pink unicorn. Lol I can see possibilities here .
  6. 1 and a 1/2 is actually quite a lot of time for this kind of game. 1) Many of the team members have worked on this style of game 2) They already have Onyx and Unity to work with 3) "Cutscenes" were often done in-game were the program took over and moved characters around and dialog "bubbles" 4) Voice-overs will probably be kept to the chapter transitions and maybe to some important scenes. Doing 2D is a lot less costly than 3D. A lot less work is needed with 2D but with more money Obsidian can make that 2D graphic "pop." Not to mention they have said that they plan to keep everybody in the loop in the development process. They don't have a NDA so that are free to talk about their game as they wish.
  7. Lol I was just thinking of the Dead cat that Adam found during IWD2 playthrough. Ah good times.
  8. It's a good question. All that is said on the forums is that they are still open .. See http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/61646-did-you-miss-out-on-the-kickstarter-paypal-options-are-still-up-but-not-for-long/ This is in the announcement section of the forums. So it's still open until they take the links off the site I guess.
  9. Hmm, first I've heard of an email. You can still see on the kickstarter page all the goals that were achieved. Which was all of them, yes even the 4 million goal since paypal easily clenched that goal. EDIT: Darn my infernal typing skills. I type too much.
  10. I think I pledged enough. I would have loved pledging more but I think we all did what we could and that is what Obsidian admires. That's what I got from the speech from Feargus on the livestream party. Now I can't wait for the launch party live stream :D.
  11. Infinite Engine games also incorporated a encumberance system. Every item has a weight and the more items the heavier it all is to carry it all. You can even pile up stuff in a character's inventory until he physically can't move. So I don't know about a grid system but I like the old way the IE games did it. I liked the grid system (annoying at times) in Deus Ex which was very realistic for a FPS style of game.
  12. lol Yeh, give them time to work on the final pictures. It's like only 7am in their timezone. I wouldn't expect anything much from them till 1pm .
  13. Gamechanger, I don't know.. maybe. Influence the gaming industry? I think it will. Since Obsidian personally owns this IP they can communicate about the production however they want and to whomever they want. That is an amazing freedom I think for the company. From how personal they were with the backers about various things in the game,I can only imagine them to continue to keep us informed on as much as they feel is necessary without spoiling the game.
  14. I remember when the statue was just a boulder looking thing. I said in the backer comments in Kickstarter when I first saw it that I wonder what the mystery is behind the boulder. Who knew it was going to become cracked and be the bald head of a ginormus statue.
  15. Finally ended at the 500 tier. Add-ons were $25 for the Obsidian tshirt, $25 for another digital key , $20 for the limited edition CD soundtrack, $10 for the playing cards, and of course $8 for the Obsidian Order of Eternity . Total cost.... PRICELESS .
  16. Wish I did. It's going to be a long but hopeful adventerious wait till 2014.
  17. To all of the Obsidian Order and devs and our fellow backers. What a final day it was yesterday. I can only hope for the excitement to continue for the next year and a half. Thanks to all who made this possible .
  18. Me too, KS projects really robbing me good and im pretty happy about this. I wasn't as interested in many other projects but this is one I can wholehearted back. If there is one thing I know then this is it. These guys know how to develop a good story and background. They have experience, dedication, and a wealth of talent. They never let up which you can tell by how dedicated they are to speak to the backers and to the public. Their kickstarter page is nearly updated everyday now. We have a very active community both on kickstarter and on here. Let's keep taking it to another level.
  19. But that's... even better! I'd like to join the Obsidian Order as "Veiled Cipher of the Obsidian Order" I have raised my pledge by $8. Yay! Hi Agelico Glad to have you in Obsidian Order and with the Ciphers! Let's bend more souls and minds to back Project:Eternity
  20. I know this is kinda silly but could I change my current forum title to "First Cipher of the Obsidian Order" I hope the 2.5 million goal gets achieved since that is a very interesting class that I'd love to play in Obsidian's new IP.
  21. I actually have that Tin and the Shirt that came with it. It is an awesome film reel tin. I got it many years ago from a PC game reseller for a very reasonable price. I miss that store but the owner passed away and the son had no interest in the business. On the topic of the cardboard/plastic issue. I am a bit disappointed that they are considering just a plastic case. It doesn't have to be a "big box with cardboard top/bottom" but even a sleeve with a flip out would be a nice touch. Also how big would this cloth map be if it was only so big for a double DVD case. I'm a little skeptical here.
  22. If they made it a stretch goal I'd really try to support for it even though I'm a native English speaker. I really think there is a big userbase in the East European/Asia area and having official translations at least helps. I really believe Obsidian could do it.
  23. It would be nice if more people could chipin. I'm i guess a little fortunate that I could both pledge and chipin. I hope more can help with the chipin drive. It all goes back to Obsidian in the end.
  24. I agree with all the folks here that some kind of total counter will be useful to keep the kickstarter+paypal pledges on task with the Strech goals. I'm not sure how the kickstarter+paypal backer numbers will work towards the expanding dungeon but I'd hope that they get counted too somehow.
  25. If I was doing a beta test I would do it in a manner that wouldn't seriously involve too much story but work along certain aspects of gameplay or mechanics that can be the trick. I hope the area that use for testing is specially made for the beta but not so large to pull too many off from the main game. I know that's a tall order but it could be a possible idea.
