  1. I love the expanding Dungeon idea and I hope it continues to grow with the paypal pledgers as well. I hope they will consider adding other languages to the list but maybe they have some kind of idea to help make that happen in the future. I mean for crying out loud they still have till 2014 to make the game and I know they aren't sitting on their butts waiting for the money to be ready before they work. I hope they give the community some teaser screens soon.
  2. Welcome to all new and future members. Only about 112 more backers to get 50k on the Kickstarter page.
  3. Being a fan of BG1. I loved the ability to manage each individual member to the best of their abilities. Better weapons/armor/spells to learn/etc. It makes you involved with each character's development. Allows you to really love and hate certain characters and get into the story more because you have put so much time into making each character the best at what they are good at. BG1 started that for me and BG2 made it even better.
  4. I dunno. It would be kind neat if some companions want to "retire" for a while and they head to the player's stronghold. I mean that could be the hub at some point. There are still a lot of time for development since they have made the release date out to April of 2014. Plenty of time to hash out the good and bad and to talk and listen to the community. There will always be those who don't like certain decisions and we are free to accept or move on. Nobody is making us pledge to them. We all want them to make an awesome game regardless.
  5. I hope your 402nd birth was a smash hit. Even though you had to go as 40/42 anyhow. lol.
  6. Diablo 1 had multiplayer (which was trash) but it's single player experience was awesome. I never liked the later games mostly because of the heavy emphasis on multiplayer gaming and farming and such. Put me way off of that game. Still love going back and playing Diablo 1 though.
  7. I think the romance stuff was always optional for the most part in the earlier IE games. Although it has been a very long time since I last played them.
  8. I agree that the factions should make an impact in the fantasy world in some way and if possible certain actions you take influence how your character is viewed and the faction across the land. It would be neat to seem some kind of non tradition faction. A religiious early technology faction with concepts like gravity and such. PE is starting to feel a little like Arcanum but with it's own twist in the older fantasy framework. I loved Arcanum's twist of technology in a fantasy setting. The whole style and work of the characters/factions was remarkable.
  9. Ah nice to become an official listed member of the Order. Very cool shield artwork there LordCrash. Very nice indeed. Now I just need to spend some time and develop a Technomage avatar for the forum picture.
  10. I would not be surprised of inaccessible quests do to various factors. It's the nature of being a character in roleplaying. You wouldn't be a goodie-two-shoe paladin and then go to the thief den to talk to an NPC to get a quest, now would you? I think even in Arcanum they had a lot of racial based factors throughout the game.
  11. Thanks Tale. I was sure I had read that statement. We need to compile all the various bits said in the interviews. So much is said in one or the other but not in all of them.
  12. Corrections in Bold. Haha, that's what I get for being up late and writing while tired. I meant Obsidian of course.
  13. Yeh, I believe that they will come through on this project. They have been deeply involved in the undertaking of it since they got floored by the 1.1 million goal response. I can't wait for more concept art drops to happen over the coming year and some. They have plenty of time to determine how to make this work and they also put in the costs for shipping internationally. So they are thinking of the costs of the physical product.
  14. Lol, Good Ol' Skullface. Gotta love Morte from Planescape: Torment.
  15. Yep. We all will know in the end but for now we all will be innocent until proven guilt and then burned at the stack after the results are in ^_^.
  16. If I know Obsidian (and the ex-BIS members) there will be some humor in this game. Remember Boo/Minsc from Baldur's Gate 1? So yeh I expect them to follow a somewhat serious tone in the overall game but for the more adventerious types there will be "hidden" moments of humor. Oh I don't know if they'll do this but a nice little easter egg they used to do is when you clicked on your characters they would give very strange dialogue. Often humorous and whimsical in nature.
  17. I remember in past Black Isle Studio games that XP wasn't always just in the quests. Often you got exprience in how you did a quest. If I remember if you lockpicked or disarmed a trap (like in Fallout 1/2) you got XP. I really don't see Quest only XP a good way to go. I want surprised exprience. Like wow.. you can get exprience if you do this. Or if you choose this dialog path you could get exprience because you decided to become more involved with the character's development. I'm not saying it is the only way to go but just staying with quest-only xp I feel is not a good path to follow. It wasn't something that those earlier games did as far as I remember. It also feels like you get cheated from the exploring of the area aspect of the game.
  18. *chuckles* I think he has to write it first.
  19. I have upped my pledge by $8 and I here by decree to be "Technomage of the Obsidian Order" I believe that we are all honorable.. in some form by just being active with this project.
  20. If it gets more people to become interested in the game I'm all for it. There are still more things added at that level so it's still a big bonus to the game. I can't wait to see what our goals they hope to achieve. Finally a game I can get excited about. Thanks Oblivion!
