If you wanted another class...
Gecimen replied to Gecimen's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Whereas I wouldn't want this as my initial PC, it might be a good addition with the adventurer's hall. My concept of tinker/engineer can also help the combat with contraptions he makes. -
Big City #2- 3.5mil. stretch goal
Gecimen replied to nerevar's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Unless we get any easier (and appealing) stretch goals such as 3.2M I think we'll end up at 3.3M or so. -
Big City #2- 3.5mil. stretch goal
Gecimen replied to nerevar's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I really love underground cities but what I'm expecting is a city built in the walls of a great cylindirical hole with multiple levels. Somewhat like Utapau but with balconies one after another. -

I certainly agree we have more than enough before an expansion, yet this poll is for you to say if you have that must-have class missing in the list. For me, Tinker/engineer is a must have in a setting that has guns and industry and it would be what I pick for my PC without a doubt. -
So with yesterday's additional 2 we have 11 classes which are: wizard warrior priest rogue ranger monk druid barbarian cipher paladin chanter Still do you want that spesific class that you dreamt of? If so, what would it be like? Of course I didn't put in stuff that's already much like what we have such as Bard (chanter), Assassin (rogue) or Beastmaster (ranger). Yet I've added shapeshifter since we don't know if Druids will have this feature as in world of warcraft.

PE already inspiring others
Gecimen replied to norolim's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
No it isn't. First off they clearly and expressively vocalize what talent they will use and what result we will get. Game mechanics are clear. So is basis of the story. Developers, story writers, designers, are all people we know. YES it can still dissappoint some of us, yet we know by heart it wont be because they do a shoddy work. Yes it was (while not so much as Shaker) hence I didn't back it. Instead I chose to back the double amount to P:E. -
PE already inspiring others

Very strange video. First off they don't seem to be serious. And then there's John Romero all over the video and he's not mentioned vocally, just in the text below. As far as I know John Romero loves his name to be mentioned everywhere so it seems like he's not in the project, just hanging around. Tom Hall doesn't seem believable at all. No info about the game except that it's.... 1st person. Yeah thanks but 1st person 3D is not very old school, and 2D (as in SSI games) is too old school for my tastes. And also asking for a million bucks for a 2D 1st person RPG is funny. One last thing: why would I want 2 games while I'm not sure one would be good enough? Who guarantees that they wont just cut it in half and box separately? As for the above discussion, P:E, being one of 3 KS projects I've backed, is the one I truly believe in. And I think it will be the greatest success (already surpassed WL2). Thus I believe PE is probably the main inspiration for this old school RPG KS. -
Are you one of those who voted for Call of duty on the main page? What a bizzare thing to say. Based on his comment, it is more likely he would vote for Icewind Dale (given the topic of this discussion) or even Temple of Elemental Evil on the main page. By the way, Icewind Dale had a sequel, and expansion and a downloadable mod adventure. That's more than some other title in the Infinty Engine era. Harumph! Ok let's see: The popular consensus on this site is that PS:T is the best Black Isle/Obsidian game ever and numerous sites on the web still list PS:T as one of top 10 games in history. Someone disliking PST is completely OK by me. Someone commenting/backing on P:E disliking PS:T is outrageous. Btw, as you see my comment is on the sentence : "Heh... I don't want it to be like Planescape Torment."

Although a good idea it can cause non-native english speakers a lot of problems. Or it can be a system like this: E.g. the question is: It's greater than god and more evil than the devil. The poor have it, the rich need it, if you eat it you die. The player types in: Notink The interface asks: Did you mean Nothing? The player clicks yes.

I'd like more story, it can be on the main plot (not necessarily an "i'm not dead" subplot, more like explore the mystery behind the main plot) or a completely different side plot if handled as good as the original game. Third option would be revealing a mystery behind a companion. But I don't like the "one of the antagonists survives and becomes even more powerful" type plots. They all end up with massive battles rather than story. I dislike main character deaths, mainly because I love to be able to travel around after the main scenario is finished, and I love it when I see my character in a sequel, be it as PC or NPC.
