  1. You have to pledge $8 on top of the tier you selected. Read the first post of this thread for more info. Actually, I don't have a tier. I donated along with another group, so no specific tier for me. My increase was $25. If that doesn't get me in, but $8 will, then consider me to have gone back, reduced my increase to $17 and then added $8 to it. Well, if you donated directly to Obsidian's PayPal, then it should be ok... or did you donate though the RPG codex or something? This is an honor system atm... until the Kickstarter ends at least. My donation is going through Sorcerer's Place (which will be using PayPal). Even though I've already made my donation to the pool, I don't think they will contribute until the last day or something, so the money itself isn't to Obsidian yet, but it will get there!
  2. Newest idea for a stretch goal: 3.1 million and we get to see one of the devs get a giant bucket of gatorade dumped on him. :D
  3. I liked the option to add your own markers in BG2. That way you could add small stuff in that you want to remember aside from markers for main locations.

  5. There's definitely a surge right now. I leave the kickstarter page long enough to make one post, then I return and find it's up $2000 dollars. That's about five minutes. So at that rate, in one hour we'll be up $24,000.
  6. I think that BG2 had some load screen tips, but not that many. Also, a lot of them involved game mechanics, and not lore. Oh, and reminders to eat something so you don't die from starvation.
  7. Well, I donated via PayPal, but it is considerably more (definitely more than $8!) than I first thought about. Does that mean I get in the Obsidian Order? Is this a prestige thing or something? I have to admit I've not paid much attention to this thread at all aside from when I first read it a few weeks ago. EDIT: If that gets me in, I'd take the name "Jester of the Obsidian Order". EDIT: Jester is already taken, I see. Then make it "Court Fool of the Obsidian Order."
  8. They do the old infinity games justice and more with that screenshot. The BG characters look perfect standing in there!
  9. I like the screenshot a lot. It's just like the BG/BG2 ones, only it looks much better. The 3.5 million stretch goal is a good one to have, I think. I really like big cities (although I like wilderness, too) in games when they are done right, so this would be a huge bonus to the game to have. I've been borderline on even donating (I'm cautious like that) but first they announced at least some support of modding and now another city? Yeah, I think I'm in finally.
  10. There is such a game, actually. Nethergate by Spiderweb Software (or something like that). It's quite old and low on graphics, but set in a Roman period.
  11. Excellent news on the modding ability. Even thought they haven't announced mod tools, it seems like they will at some point (otherwise why mention mod support?) and that's what I've really been hoping for with this game.
  12. Excellent! Dialogue that's affected by intelligence! That was hilarious in Fallout and I'm ecstatic that they're going to include that stuff in Project: Eternity.
  13. I never quite mentioned running from battle (though I wouldn't mind morale dropping when health gets really low, like in BG1), but was speaking more in general. Your choices in dialogue, etc., should have an effect on companions and they should be able to react to that instead of following no matter what you do.
  14. I prefer that companions can die. In BG2, this may not have been a major problem because you can usually raise them with ease, but in BG1, your characters did not have the option of doing that. You had to get back to the temple and pay gold for it -- gold that I'd much have preferred to spend on a new suit of armor rather than raising a character I didn't want but have to raise because I'm playing a good party! Make death a real possibility. Make raise something that is NOT easy to obtain. Those who wish to avoid the complications of it can just reload. Those that want to deal with it don't reload. Seems simple enough to me.
  15. Day to Release: Eternity. Sounds good to me.
  16. While fully-voiced characters don't bother me (if done right), and cinematics, when limited, are fine, I agree on the rest listed here.
  17. There's a new logo? Huh. I guess there is. Considering how much attention I was paying, I guess neither one made a huge impression on me. They're both fine, but nothing that catches my eye.
  18. I remember one time (for another game) suggesting a mod in which an NPC would actually react to things you did, and also make some decisions for himself (not for the player) if he didn't agree. Then came the "That's an awful idea! We don't want NPCs making decisions!" So, yeah, I guess there are some people who want NPCs to be animated puppets that do whatever you want whether they agree with it or not. I, for one, think it's great to have them actually act (or refuse) based on their beliefs, even to the point of departing permanently, staying out of a battle, or other things.
  19. The rogue on the top right reminds me of Cano in Drakensang 2. Almost an exact copy. And yes, he was a rogue.
  20. I think mine was that point in BG2 when I finally got my cleric class abilities back (after dual-classing to fighter) at level 34. Massive damage for the rest of the game!
  21. Not quite on topic, but it's what I thought of when I saw the thread title: I think it WOULD be interesting if in character creation, there is a certain "prejudice" based on gender. That is, each one has its advantages, disadvantages. It would make a little more variety, would it not?
  22. I prefer limited ammo. BG2's stacks of 40 arrows worked well for me, though whether or not that works for this game depends on how the inventory is set up. Having three slots in the quiver actually gave you plenty of ammo (120) even with the limited stacks. I'd prefer a system like that anyway.
  23. I think this is the third post I've seen discussing mod tools. Not that I'm complaining, mind you, as I've chimed in my support in all three of them now.
