  1. Ah. I figured the site was taken down by either the Codex or that spotty-faced kid living in his Mom's basement. Thanks.
  2. Does anybody know what happened to the RPGWatch.com web site? It seems to be out for the count.
  3. Pending Darwin Award winner...
  4. A big part of what I found enjoyable was that PoE took itself seriously. Inserting silly characters is pointless without providing a suitable rationale for why they are silly. I found Hiravias a bit silly at times, but it was done in a completely acceptable manner.
  5. These days I think that five party members is just about right for a fantasy RPG; it gives you the four classic character types, plus an extra character to weight the mix in your preferred direction. Six character parties and their followers start to turn into a mob, while four character parties severely limit you tactically. I'd also prefer to have fewer, but better developed companions.
  6. Yes, I've been seeing the same pathfinding issues you mention. It's a big distraction when I'm trying to focus on combat. It's not a consistent thing though; at least, I don't get this glitch. I may have had it once or twice, but if I did it was so infrequent that I can't recall for sure if I did. The Goldpact Knight in the Stronghold does quite consistently do this do (or something like it), after you build the Forum I think. Possibly it's related to the type of tactics you employ. Prior to combat I tend to use terrain to anchor one side of the formation, and there the walkpathing issues tend to appear in the back line. But yes it is infrequent, albeit immersion breaking.

  8. Yes, I might enjoy a game where boats and swimming are major modes of movement. I could see my character paddling through flooded N'Orleans in a mirelurk-hide corracle, looking to upgrade to a punt.
  9. It may be a good thing if the Fallout setting were to be left to grow fallow for a few years. It is in need of a fresh start.
  10. Meanwhile, in Canada...
  11. F:NO: laissez les bon temps rouler!
  12. Actually, I like the camera in WL2. It's certainly less cumbersome than the camera in the initial D:OS release. But perhaps it's an issue for smaller displays?
  13. Doing another play-through of PoE, this time with the White March expansions. This time I'm taking a different set of characters for the variation in experience. However, the expansion adds another three, so it doesn't look like I'll get to them all. I do like what they have done with the stronghold; it feels more meaningful now. But I still wish I could hire (or recruit) a couple of servant staff to do the maintenance busy work. The Stronghold NPCs continue to feel very bare bones.
  14. There's still a few NWN/NWN2 forums around, including the NWN Vault and the Nexus.
  15. ...because the sight of a liquid-filled glass creature breaking through brick walls will make kids want to drink the cool aide and buy into what they're selling. Which is sugar.
