  1. Fun rumor: Trump is going to order all government employees to be implanted with an RFID chip for tracking purposes.
  2. Yes, I agree. Those are hopeless -- the riser placement is all wrong. In a decade or two that'll be a death trap.
  3. Actually I'd prefer that the exceptional fights (such as dragons) be unique and memorable; not Skyrim main quest-like where I felt like I was constantly fighting dragons.
  4. There's more to it than just numbers. Look up combined arms tactics some time. The whole can be stronger than the sum of its parts. Larger numbers allow more sophisticated tactics, which makes combat more interesting... and challenging.
  5. I always thought that allowing respec was a bit daft. What's the point of allowing choice if there are no consequences? At least provide a plausible in-game mechanism for it... like cipher mind surgery... or Futurama-style brain slugs.
  6. Well it's not so much about what a Wizard can and can't do with magic. It's about what two different Wizards operating with independent aims and means can do. Remember the miscibility rules from the old style D&D?
  7. I don't understand what you are proposing but suppression didn't add any gameplay/systemic depth, it is just a rule to uphold the balance. Certain slots giving certain buffs removes the problem altogether. No, not altogether. The example states both gloves and boots can give Dex bonuses, so there is still stacking. I'm saying why allow stacking at all? A Dex bonus from gloves tries to improve your action; a Dex bonus from boots also tries to improve your Action -- why should the result be cooperative? It's more likely to trip you up. Two forms of magic providing the same benefit wouldn't necessarily stack; they're more likely to interfere with each other.
  8. Why allow magic item buffs to stack? If they aren't part of a set, it would be more interesting if they interfered with each other. For example, two +3 Might items should net out at +2 Might. That makes stacking easier to resolve mechanically, and gives the player more of a challenge to decide what gear to use.
  9. Actually, that's kind of understandable. Their music is a tad on the eclectic side.
  10. Can Substantial Phantom be cast without its shocking effect? Hmm I suppose 30 seconds isn't long enough for some significant canoodling though. Maybe the elf Wizard needs to get busy developing Aloth's Phantom Bed Buddy with a one hour duration.
  11. It would probably be too expensive to change up all the game mechanics to suit the Beyond. Perhaps simulated combat will just be a mental manifestation, so it looks the same but without inflicting the same physical wounds. Instead you'll suffer from a "confused mind" or "overpowering emotions", which can be just as crippling. Instead of dying, you go catatonic.
  12. I still check these forums from time to time. Most of the NWN2 action is on the Vault though.
