  1. He didn't consider it a bad thing until it was forced upon him. But he still changed it. That's my entire point. You're putting the "forced" into it to continue going along your own view of events. Would Obsidian have asked him? Yes. Did Obsidian force him to rewrite it into what he did? No. That was his choice. Az, he even came on to this forum and said what happened. He went on Twitter. And yet you're still saying "nu-uh".
  2. Try a few hundred thousand. I enjoy reading, but I also enjoy fully voiced games.
  3. So.... what? Mashing buttons is bad, but also just clicking on a unit once is bad as well?
  4. Not really, you don't need to hold down anything or continuously press X for a sword swing.
  5. I assure you, as a product meant to be sold (especially considering Obsidian is trying to crawl out of the hole they were in pre-PoE), they want mass sales.
  6. For a game with no bad builds, there are sadly few RP builds.
  7. Button masher = have to press a button to perform an action. DA2 and DA3, you only need to click on the enemy.
  8. DA2 and DA3 are not button mashers on PC.
  9. I'm hoping it's just locked and not "you're here but now you're here".
  10. If he is not trying to be mean, of satisfying his superior complex with this stupid question. (which is me guessing of course) Then he is just plain stupid. That is uncalled for, even with a user that posts rude questions.
  11. I became far less interested upon learning the world was actually divided up into three sections. That's what I hated most about TW2.
  12. And as I recall, Avellone celebrated his 42nd birthday or something last year, right? But to answer the OPs question in the terms that we, at least at this moment, have from him: no, there are no 17-year olds working at Obsidian. Let alone in Lead positions.
  13. Having given 24 hours to the game, I 100% agree with you.
  14. Alright, I'll bite. What did you mean by "It would explain a lot" then? Also, explain "younger and newer". You're acting like young people or new employees are, to put it bluntly, stupid. And that's rude. Younger players are not incapable of playing let alone enjoying games that were made before they: a) were born. b) discovered them. c) all of the above Just like a video game company employee is going to know what they are talking about. While I'm sure there are employees at Obsidian well below 40 (I mean, come on, let's be real here), to assume that the reason you personally do not like the game is because of some vague definition of younger people that you yourself can't define is really, really lame. Hey, I remember being banned from NeoGAF for saying as much in a PoE thread.
  15. Read my above post. You're acting like those are old games. They aren't. An old game is Ultima: Underworld, Wasteland, etc. And while you say you're not trying to be obnoxious, your original post is set-up in a way that makes me and others believe you want to know "who is responsible for this crap?".
  16. You do realize Baldur's Gate came out in 1998, right? Like, it's literally been less than 20 years since the birth of the Infinity Engine games.
  17. Wow. Insulting the developers, the company, and younger players all in one. A hat trick.
  18. Well, I've seen him on Twitter saying that he wouldn't change the poem if not of the entire situation Well, yeah. But correlation is not the same as causation. If I did something and it caused bad stuff to happen, I'd fix it, too. If it didn't, I wouldn't.
  19. The main problem with combat in DA3 is that it is super-easy to over-level. Looped actions in any game get lousy fast when the reward is taken out of the equation. DA1 and DA2 did not have this problem because: 1) enemy units did not respawn. 2) the leveling system was far more strict. In DA3, it's extremely easy to get to level 20 by the beginning of Act 2. This is why I love the DLC, because the enemy units are once again higher level than I am.
  20. ... that's literally what forums are for.
  21. I see it as not mocking, but rather, it's an inoffensive change. But it's very clear by now that you and others don't care about facts. It was all the evil SJWs fault. They forced Firedom to change the poem. It can't possibly be be that he, you know, wanted to. Obsidian must hate "SJWs", it can't possibly be that the new poem is tame. If you have to distort reality in order to make yourself feel secure in your worldview, that's pretty sad, dude.
  22. It's not an RPG if it's easy (yes, actual comment).
  23. It's really depressing how many people on this forum are saying they wouldn't fund a second kickstarter or buy future Obsidian products all because of a few lines of text being changed (by the original author, no less).
  24. So, you're upset that Obsidian removed some content that you admit they forgot to check? It's their game. Their product. They get the final say. You don't like their decision? Guess what: that doesn't make them bad people. It just means they have different ideals than you.
