  1. *gasp*... You mean steal? *faints* I want to get into real estate, and sell someone a house, but padlock all the bathrooms and charge extra for the key. No, it's not even pirating. It was shown that all you need to do for Javik is re-add in one line of code at the beginning. I forget what it is, though.
  2. If you are referring to a Bethesda type game, where NPCs walk around and say the same things or have the same conversations all the time, then I agree. If you are referring to party members being repetitive because they only cycle through a small list of sound bites, then I have one thing to say to you: "Who. Wants. Some?" I frickin' hate how Bethesda has given rise to the popularity of the Living World.
  3. I wasn't talking about DLC in general. I was referring to the specific design of some DLC, that EA tends to use, like how the only living Prothean (who's DIRECTLY tied into the history and story of Mass Effect, mind you) became a DLC "add-on." It's not like you just don't get to use him in your party and/or go on a personal quest for him. He just plain doesn't exist if you don't pay for him as an "add-on." He does if you add in one line of code.
  4. It roughly will take up an hour to an hour and a half of your time. The engine we are using is Ren'Py, a Python-based visual novel engine that has been gaining Steam on Greenlight. Do you see what I did there? Speedrunning it, I have been able to do the thing in fifteen minutes. Ren'Py is also known for dating sims, but once again, it is not a Cthulhu Dating Sim.
  5. Let's not go into the Pie Analogy for DLC, shall we? I've never liked it.
  6. Wait... What? Providing an add-on to your pledge now makes them EA? I'm sorry you had to learn in this fashion that video game development takes money. But the fact is that merely asking for money does not make them evil. And I know that $4 million seems like a lot to you, but it is a drop in the bucket. I'm quite frankly amazed they are making a game like this for it.
  7. I would assume that would be the point of additional downloads.
  8. Hey, you! Yes you! The guy/girl reading this thread! Do you own a PC/Mac/Linux Thing? Do you like RPGs? Do you like H.P. Loveraft? Horror genre? Adventure games? Well, it just so happens that my team and I have been making an RPG-Adventure game over the past year or so, and we've been in beta testing for about... a while. We're just now waiting on all our VO to get in. When you are not paying anyone, people tend to take their time. It's not a Cthulhu Dating Sim. Don't listen to those that say it is. Anyhow. The good news is that the gameplay is 99%. All of the functions and mechanics are in. Art is 99% (UIs and title). I just need a courageous band of brothers for the final round of beta. I also have a few rules that I would be giving you, some would be following X in the story and others Y. You get the idea. Any takers?
  9. Oh, it's just a northern california slang term that is featured in the design.
  10. Why should the bay area vote for Mega Rad Karate Troopers? Hella points.
  11. This is pretty much a universal idea, I can see it working well in PoE, where different cultures already are stated to have different views on souls.
  12. I'm expecting 31 of those endings all to be variation.
  13. https://www.humblebundle.com/doublefine Everyone needs to vote for Mega Ninja Troopers. Especially if you live in the Bay Area. Don't even bother paying for more Pen Ward's games. Great writer, but that's what he should stick with.
  14. And in most of Europe guilds allowed women to work in their fathers and husbands forges and in some cases they were allowed to own and run forge if they inherit one, I don't have any knowledge if they did or didn't have these exceptions in Bohemia. It should probably also be mentioned that even though woman could own and run forge she could not get guild's permit, which often meant that she needed to sell forge or hire journeyman work for her to actually run her forge. I find it suspicious that Elrond is advocating for females in the workforce.
  15. You all are making me depressed than 20-year old me is more well-read than 31-year old me.
  16. Well, if they were sexist, they were sexist. Not really sure what you're getting at. Being popular doesn't make something any less of what it is. You're honestly not arguing that we should shut up about bull**** just because it's art, are you? Either way, you completely miss the point of what I was saying.
  17. You just exemplified why I have to roll my eyes when people justify the ridiculous amount of sex and sexism in The Witcher (books or games) with "you mean women were treated as they would be in that time frame"? It's a damn fictional setting.
