Tell you what. You refrain from making assumptions about me and my motivations and I'll stay at 2 warnings. I was not making a personal attack on you for your opinion, but thanks for implying that you would to me.

NEW KICKSTARTER: Darkest Dungeons
But if it's exclusive, that to me says that it is outside the complete product. Now, this is not to say I don't have issue with "what is and is not Kickstarter" - of which I have many, but that's for the general Kickstarter thread. But the "full/complete" game... I've never bought into that talk.

NEW KICKSTARTER: Darkest Dungeons
I don't see the problem with an exclusive class/item/etc.; the initial response is to cry catastrophe or injustice towards "the other player" (i.e. me).

XCom
XCOM is a game that I never want to play because I've beaten it and it feels like a chore. Then I start it up. And it is 3am.

Though I agree with your post, I sometimes really wish BW would go back and focus more on, you know, the gaming aspect of the games and less on the marketing/pr/community management BS. This is from an outsider's perspective, obviously, and there are signs that there is more going on under the hood (I remember reading some interesting posts by a gameplay designer for ME2), but the apparent focus on stuff that is, at best, ancillary and should be taking a back seat to gameplay is style over substance. It's made even worse by the fact that practical applications of the principles of "engaging the community" and "listening to fans" usually amount to nothing and sometimes backfire—I'm thinking of the "heal to full" and "the endings weren't universally disliked" debacles as examples, but they aren't the only ones. I don't know how much of that is attributable to being "a division of EA", and at the end of the day, I don't care. From their track record, it's plain that EA has only one aim and that is making these numbers with all their games. It's a legitimate goal, but one that unfortunately precludes them from making the kind of games I'd enjoy best. Now, I had a lot of fun with the ME3 trilogy and I knew what I was getting into, but the replay value is frankly low. Call me old fashioned but I don't need to be playing a brand new, cookie-cutter, completely forgettable game every other week; I can be entertained for months on end with the same game if it's good enough. Obviously that makes me a non-ideal customer in the eyes of corporations whose business model is based on churning out a new(?) sequel every two years. Though, judging by the crowdfunding phenomenon, maybe I'm not the only one. Whoa, that ended up being more of a rant than I had intended. Oh well, nothing new under the sun. I can understand the hate from the Call of Duty comments, but it only means they want a universal hit. Which isn't a bad thing at all. Everyone should be aiming for that. It all really stems from "stop liking the things I like!"; no really, it does. The real issue here is that there's no real formula for a Call of Duty.

Where is your Subtitle?
Are you saying it's going to be bad? It's just a Princess Bride reference, nothing more. And you missed my reference to your reference.

Update #72: Death Godlike and Expected Ship Date
There is no hard deadlines in software development only soft, softer and when it is ready You'd be surprised how many publisher-funded games miss their initial deadline.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt [2014]
TW2 has shown me 100% no reason why it needed Branching Story. I'm hoping the open world atmosphere of TW3 destroys any hint that this could happen.

Update #72: Death Godlike and Expected Ship Date
Is it just me or does anyone else think the delay is more of a general thing and less of a backer thing?

The Obsidian Order of Eternity (part 7)
I think this would be real cool! I think it's more likely to be an Easter egg than a game feature: I don't doubt that Obsidian will want to include fan service, but nothing that's too confusing to a general audience. Well. There is going to be a NeoGAF Inn. There's going to be an RPG Codex Inn. Who knows what else is going to be in the game due to custom rewards.

Elder Scrolls Online
Was he doing it during the beta? I did it a couple days beforehand and it downloaded in a couple hours with no problems. You should see the looks on peoples faces when they realize he is a she. "Does that make me sexist?" No it doesn't but Hurlshot has some serious soul searching to do We live in a Post-Josh Mattingly world.

Dragon Age: Inquisition
I find them both ludicrous and tragic at the same time. Poking fun at them amuses me greatly. Cosplayers and Bioware, together, creating a huge swirling maelstrom of emo lameness. Even my intense enuii at the early 21st Century is lightened by their folly. Your point? I appreciate your honesty, all I can say is how would you feel if there were people on a forum that you were active on that were insulting or dismissive towards something that you enjoyed? You probably wouldn't care because you are comfortable with what you enjoy and its irrelevant to you what some virtual faceless person on a forum thinks. But this type of criticism can be hurtful and create unnecessary acrimony as not everyone is as confident in there views and hobbies as you are. Let's not mince words: everyone gets upset at the internet sometimes.

Yeah, please, let's keep all the BSN BS to the BSN. There is nothing wrong with liking the Dragon Age series or Dragon Age 2 in particular. Let's not bring in the attitude that doing so makes you less intelligent.
