Voice Acting?
lolaldanee replied to Dwarfare's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
honestly i think the "only the beginning and not the rest of the dialog" thing is not that great an idea i'd rather see it if they would do the important dialogs complete, and not so important ones not at all having half the dialog voiced just seems odd to me, and always has aaah to bad there isn't the money for full voice acting -

I love the stamina concept! this is making a lot of sense regarding xp: there are 2 games that only give you xp for doing certain things or reaching a point in a level one is bloodlines the other dark messiah of might and magic in both games this system workes very very well i'm all for it (thinking of it: both games are skill based rather than level based also, that felt great too *hint hint*)

well, i think they will not translate it themselfs, and any company that does translations for them hopefully knows such specifics well enough to do the right thing out of interest: how are translations in most other computer games done in spanish? are they also having words specific for spain and not the whole spnish speaking world?

But they also have some strengths compared to BG/BG2/PS:T imo. For example, I think the progression of encounters was done really well in IWD2. Which tactics and spells would help you the most continually changed as you progressed, so you had to adapt constantly which made it pretty interesting and challenging right through to the end. indeed i also think they have a very good story, (ok, torment is better, granted) what they lack is interaction with companions and freedom, since they are pretty linear games but the story as such is pretty awesome actually

I'm not even remotely interested in realism. If I want that I can go to work or wander up the road. I want to play a larger-than-life character, and if that means an archetypical villain then so be it. Am not interested in woolly, muesli-eating BS about relativity, TBH. you are aware exactly this is the core of all obsidian games yes?

Did the final battle of Neverwinter Nights 2 last night. It doesn't have a formal AI scripting system, but it was a pain in the behind for this specific reason. ooooh, don't mention it if there is one thing i really hate about NWN2 it's that stupid boss fight where half of your guys suddenly would turn against you in that awfuly scripted way OT: i'd like to have DA:O's tactics system, it worked very well, but won't cry if it's not included

Best RPG memory
lolaldanee replied to Gatt9's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
- the whole santa monica part in bloodlines, way better than the rest of the game - vampire the masquerade redemption: the whole game - mask of the betrayer, killing myrkul and the whole ending - the first 15 minutes in mass effect 1 and the whole of mass effect 2 - some of the origin stories in dragon age1 and the whole of dragon age 2 - the 2nd half of icewind dale 1, from the moment you enter the hand onwards, awesome story from there on - every single line of dialog in aquanox 2 (ok thats no rpg at all, but still, i liked it for the story not the gameplay :D ) - dark messiah of might and magic: the whole game, best combat in any game ever - gothic 1: the whole game, but especially the beginning - alpha protocol: watching videos on youtube, only to learn that Scarlet is the assassin, did not learn it during my playthrough, OUCH that one hurt - tooooo many more
